I've had agoraphobia at 2 points in my life, once when I was 17 for a month and once again from January '08 until now. It tells me that with gained self esteem and a healthier lifestyle this can be maintained without drugs.
I do have xanax for the times I want to go out, but I recently changed my diet and it's made the biggest difference in my general anxiety from day to day and I rarely touch my xanax. Also I've started yoga and running and it's helped me feel so much better. Good luck.
I stopped smoking for 5 years during my "illness", but alas...no change whatsoever. Oh well...perhaps I'll actually try a diet change. Thanks for sharing! Hugz
Thanks for making this video. I have Anxiety Disorder also. My sister happens to be a Nutritionist. She has just taken me through all the good foods and has helped me understand how food affects me. She usually charges quite a lot but if you want, I think she'd loved to talk to you about the food you are eating in relation to your disorder for free. She could put you on an eating plan for free also. Understanding how frustrating AD is I'm sure she'd love to help.
Hi, I startd when I was 15. Generally I'm high functioning, but I've studied this for 36 years. I agree with your theories on smoking and diet. It REALLY helps. Plus I force myself to do things, small things, always a little more than I'm safe with, just to push my comfort zone wider. Eckhart tolle has a great audio book called The power of now. Make sure and listen to the 1st part, when he introduces himself, as an agoraphobic. Awesome.
Any luck with meds?Trying paroxetine (paxil) but everything i'm reading about it scares the hell outta me.Seems like the cons out weigh the pros but i'm desperate.I was doing so much better, just like you "not perfect" but enough to appreciate it greatly,"the little things" like going into the gas station and buying a drink to being extremely agoraphobia again!I feel like this condition is robbing me of my life and i'll never get these days back again ever.Crack whores have more of a life.Sad:(
I totally agree. I also became vegetarian. What really helped me was changing from dairy to almond milk.
Thanks for the great videos.
