Fred voice effect in Sony Vegas Movie Studio using voice pitch shift

In my video when i only wanted to add it to a section of the video. it was split from the other clips and i had it selected but it added pitch shift to the whole audio track. How do i do it with just 1 section?

@DaAliBerryz Right click the audio track of the split event and select 'apply non real time audio effect'.

Then choose pitch shift from the list of effects, and apply it.

This will render an alternate audio clip for the split event and place it on the timeline.

This will not affect other audio events on the same audio timeline.

I don't think fred does it that way, He actualy speeds up the video just slightly untill its nicley paced then he enables a property on the autio track to make it sync with its speed.

@Gzero91 You can use the technique I show in 'speed up / slow down movie studio', to adjust the video speed, and have the audio sync up. But it won't produce the fred voice unless you speed up the video a great deal. Pitch shift as shown above is the better way to do it.

theres an much easier way ! right click on your audio go to prefernces then select classic now change that 0 to higher number. he highest one is 25 which gives a really high pitch. If you add " - " in front of it then it will make the pitch lower.

Not only pitch shift is used by Fred, but also everyone who does a "Chipmunk" version of a song.

A song that is just sped up and not at the same speed is NOT a chipmunk song.

I'm not sure if this applies to all of the sony vegas products, but with mine (sony vegas 9) all you have to do is click on the track and press control and the plus sign, and it raises the pitch one cent at a time

Yes, Vegas 6 does have pitch shift.

Click on audio fx in the audio timeline, then click to add plugin, and choose sony from the options. You'll find pitch shift there.

A blank audio track usually means the video was encoded with an audio codec not on your computer. Download and use the free gspot appliance to check the video source to see what codec was needed and what codec you need.

You shouldn't get echo with pitch shift. Make sure you haven't applied other audio effects

With Camtasia, I recommend using a USB headset, either Plantronics or Microsoft

I have a different screen popup also in version 9. I found out what to do though. You see the 2 green icons at the top right of the box that pops up? Click on the left of those, and then you can choose your effect as shown in the video. Hope that helps.
