  • funniest part of the movie is when Peter Boyle is in the hospital and he sees a guy on a stretcher on his back and says "rise my son" the man stands and tries to walk and falls down

i fucking died from laughter R.I.P Peter Boyle

  • ROFLMAO @ :28

  • its good to be young and insane

  • cool...

  • it's like an outing with my clients from my group home. sheesh! lol

  • Awesome movie that i saw in theaters as a kid. Michael Keaton, Christopher Lloyd, Peter Boyle and Stephen Furst made a great comic team in this.

  • Thats the best backhand I've seen on Thorazine..

  • "I fear my doctor may have been seized by the romans"... OMG so many classic lines in this movie..

  • I remember seeing that trailer, and that last part still makkes me chuckle, Arise and Walk My Son

  • LOOLOOLOOLLOOLLOLOLOLOLLOLL i HAVE TO WATCH THIS.

  • fail movie . i work in psych and this movie its unreal

  • @trollhaim Really? A movie that doesn't correctly portray an actual job & it's environment, wow what a shocker. You do know that they don't correctly portray policemen, firemen, etc jobs and their environment, right? Like how you shouldn't be able to see anything because of the intense smoke in a building on fire for instance, let alone breath, Backdraft released in 1991 is a pretty good example. You know why? Because it would be boring. Get it now?

  • @trollhaim it's more like group home for insane MR clients who go on an outing....although, we wouldn't leave 3 clients in a van. things may have been different in the 80's tho haha

  • @trollhaim omg its a comedy movie not a factual movie you dumb-dumb

  • at 00:43 you can see them running fixed together in ONE box: a metaphor for me, that this movie is about multiple personality disorder - a person who is suffering under schizophrenia, divided into 4 different characters: therapy: to make the divorced fragments join again to one acting person ...

  • Bandit: "Who are you??"

    Keaton: "I am Batman"

  • Stephen Furst ruled in this movie batter up

  • Michael Keaton is the man!

  • 00:54 what you say when all else fails, in any situation. : )

  • What was the first song playing?

  • "Hit the Road Jack" by Buster Poindexter

  • No....Percy Mayfield and recorded by Ray Charles

  • thnx

  • an oldie but still a good movie :)

  • Very funny film with a great cast. Hit the road jack!

  • the scene of "arise and walk ,my son" is a scene that I never forgot, i didn't even remembered the name of the movie, so i did a research on goole, and wow, I found it!!! I´ll get it as soon as see it

  • This is such a feel good movie!

  • This is my favorite movie of all time!

  • mine too!!!!

  • "This is the blood and soul of our lord Jesus Christ...and a damn fine beougelois." RIP Boyle.

"That man had no business being an NHL referee," Keaton, still living.

"Hey doc, is it true if just one of those tiles came out that this tunnel would become filled with water? Keaton, again. hilarious.

  • Where did you get this from?

  • "arise and walk my son"

best scene in movie absolutely brilliant

  • One of my very favorite movies EVER. Can't count the numbers of times I've said, "Ah... it's great to be young and insane" and, as I've gotten OLDER, I've wanted to yell, "Would somebody please take me back to my room!!!"

  • "Ah great, been waiting for this all morning: Dr. Dementos speaks!"

    ROFL

  • "A rise and walk my son" one of the best part of the whole film. It is such a great idea for a comedy four nuts cases lost in new york.

  • Best part was in the restraurant, when Billy smashed the dude's head on the table - Dude:"Who are you?" Bill-"I'm an escaped mental patient with a history of violence." Then when the whole restaurant was looking- Billy"Restaurant Security, just a minor utensil violation...enjoy your diner."

    Haha...great movie!

  • Best, funniest, film nobody's heard of.

  • How sad. How true.

  • i remember seeing it years ago couldnt remember the name though now ive seen it again and its great

  • if any one has this can you please put the whole movie on youtube please

  • Does this take the piss out of the mentally ill, tough one.

  • thanks for the trailer, I still have the the video from when it came out in 1989

  • I saw this movie recently and it was great. The humor is great and the charachter development is perfect.

  • 'Arise and walk my son' LMAO! and he does! Funny as fook this film. i love the scene in the van when Peter Boyde is singing manically 'Hit the Road jack' aw my tummy hurts from laffin

  • I like the part when he says, "you know why it's a brilliant manipulation of negative space? Because Jesus wants it that way!" OMG too funny RIP Peter Boyle

  • yepp! I think all of Boyles lines have me rolling with laughter, even when he doesn't speak I'm in hysterics at him in the background. He stole the entire gig and I miss him, he was a huge talent. Funny as hell :D

  • That scene in the church when he's clapping and looking over at that black lady and smiling, too funny. "I was dancin' with alcohol, I was luvvin' druuugs!". I agree with you damn he was good.

  • LOL oh yeah another classic line delivered by our favourite. Maaan, they should make that film compulsory viewing for seriously ill people, I'm sure their own laughter would go some way to aiding a recovery! Laughter therapy, Boyle style! :D

  • I didn't know that was Boyle! HOLY CRAP!!!!!

  • brilliant film

  • peter boyle died recently. great film and part

  • i didnt know boyle was dead! that was one funny man RIP
