These liberals need to quit acting like little kids. "Why we letting them do this? Why why why why why why?" The American people do benefit from offshore drilling. You know why? Because its an export! You can make money instead of spending it.
HAHA...is this a comedic site like the Onion? Never heard of this guy is not well schooled in the topics he discusses. However, I love living in the america where everyone can have their own website and voice their opinion :) Thanks for the laughs...keep them coming
Obama is charismatic and that's the only thing he's got.
I feared that from the get go (I was rooting for HIllary, and well... would she have really done worse? I don't think so. Their programs where about the same anyway.)
But by now it's confirmed. Obama is not a strong president. He's not going to get much done.
He might still get a second term though, if the Repubs put Sarah Palin up as his opponent next election session. No way anyone can lose against HER after all.
Obama compromises too much, and gives in to others wants too easily. It is nice he is respectful and humble. It just isn't good he doesn't keep what he believes up higher at the same time. There is ways to do that. I wonder if he compromises with his wife the same way. Joking.
the reason he is with offshore drilling is because he is not that dumb. we need to use offshore so we dont have to pay the arabs. if we have resources than we should use them. right now the echonomy is more inportant than the enviroment RIGHT NOW but later when the echonomy is better and we have money for it then go right ahead.
The problem, Cenk, is that they made all those very valid points about offshore drilling, but the majority of Americans still support it. Why? Because they're still too lazy and complacent to grapple with facts, figures and logic. Sad but true. You'd think they'd have learned by now the dangers of believing in sound bites, but they haven't.
Republicrats. Both parties pretend to be different but the most fundamental issues aren't open to debate. Such as, for example, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, or sanctions and threats against Iran. Obama will consolidate domestic power under the guise of being "leftist" but will not undo the unconstitutional measures implemented by Bush. Just another mask on the same NWO monster. 9/11 was an inside job, and the USA is doomed. Keep working and watching the network news. Living dead of America.
You just validated the arguement to not leave Iraq until the job is done "because they will see us as weak." Face facts OBAMA knows that the people have decided that they want their SUV's.
Sounds like your opening your eyes :] obama The only CHANGE he's going to do is to change his mind often and we dont need this on our country mccain he's just going to do the same old and become a puppet. Plz i would love to see you do a video over Ron Paul!!! they are making a third party and their still hope we're putting a lot of signs of him so we become the media and not obama who pays the news to keep the propaganda going and well most of the american people Watch TV do it for Ron Paul
Why is it that Obama fails to repeat this basic fundamental fact that destroys McCain's 'drill here drill now' mantra?
There are six so called 'super major' oil companies that make up 'big oil'. Three are foreign owned. BP - British, Shell - Dutch, Total - French. They all currently drill in North America and sell the oil on the world market.
The oil companies make huge profits when oil prices are high, so increasing supply would not be in there interest. New leases would just be a land grab.
Not everything thing that Republicans say is wrong by definition. Getting our own oil, rather than buying it from Putin or his terroist friends is a good thing. Do you think about hating republicans when you fill your tank? Try putting wind power in your fuel tank.... silly
Now this guy Curge, Ceff (whatever the hell his name is) has gotten his inspiration from someone in broadcasting or one of those nudnik Libs on television. I have yet to determine exactly who that someone is. It could be Chris Matthews (aka Screwball) or Keith Overbite (Countdown to NO RATINGS) from MSLSD.
He does try to add humor and sophmoric humor to his broadcasts, so perhaps he emulates Jon Leibowitz (aka Jon Stewart) of the Daily Schmo Show! What's funny about Crud or Cyst (whatever his name is) is that he's criticing Milhouse about giving in to the possibility of drilling, when Obama is widely known across America (this fruited plain ...from sea to shining sea) for flip-flopping on any issue ..you name it, as long as it helps to keep him in contention for the Presidency!
you have got to be joking. flip flopping? first of all its a load of shit republican spin line but secondly look at damn mccain, he has changed his view on everything to try to sure up the republican base. Which by the way is insane. good night and good luck
From back-flipping on his contributions agreement he made with McCain, to continuing military invasions that supposedly secure resources for Israel and the U.S. or advocating the drilling for oil on behalf of his friends at ExxonMobil.
Moreover, Obama is quoted as saying he 'admires what the Bush/Cheney administration have achieved in the Middle East'.
Are you awake you blind Barack Boosters!
Obama supporters have been tricked and are behaving like sheep.
Are we going to have our TV's made out of Wood once again with No Oil? No more Carpet because of No Oil. Look around your Home at everything, Now toss out anything made out of Oil. We are a Oil Society. No Gas for the car then what, Horse and Buggy? That's not feasible for many resons. You can't replace Millions of cars in a few years to something else! The Poor can't afford a new Car. How would you charge your Car? Obama doesn't want any new Coal Plants or Nuclear. Magical Fairy Dust I guess!
YOU IDIOT!!! What you fail to mention is Obama never said that offshore drilling was a bad idea, just that it's not the future of energy use in America. Do your homework. Even McCain said offshore drilling would take years to bring relief but now he's all for it like it'll bring gas down to $1.50 next week.
Because of YouTube the first amendment is getting a workout and allows cooks like yourself to post trash. Please don't post again until that massive head of yours has a brain inside.
Your an idiot!!! You say the Republicans Filibustered. Your a moroan. Who's the House speaker and who closed the House because she didnt want to vote on off-shore drilling. That would be Polosi (AKA) Democrat. Get the facts! You tell your Democrats to let us drill and stop being dependent on other countries! It's funny that Bush opens part of drilling and the gas price drops. Coincidence I think not. Moron!
Just one thing... *where* did Obama accept offshore drilling? In the natural parks or outside of them? Because the problem isn't offshore drilling, it's offshore drilling IN PROTECTED AREAS.
If abbreviating every issue's terminology causes a confusion in cases such as this, stop abbreviating!! :P
Either way... Renewable energy is much better than oil, anyway. I have absolutely no idea why the subject is even being discussed.
Obama said that he would allow offshore drilling for IMMEDIATE relief, but his primary interest is for the future... he didn't give in. This is an obvious compromise bc he still wants to do way more then mccain would ever conceive of doing. This guy really pisses me off bc he's going off without getting the facts. Obama just made a speech about it this week actually. I forget what its called. The thing is that oil drilling IS NOT Obama's energy plan, it's McCain's. Obama goes above and beyond.
Obama is outside the mainstream. He belonged to a racist church for 20 years. His mentor and pastor is a bigot. Not a surprise that Michelle would say that she has never been proud of America. She sat in Wright's pew for 20 years.
The National Journal named him the most liberal senator in 2007.
The mainstream is an idiot. Jeremiah Wright is a friggin' genius, a true American hero, you are a bigot and Michelle never said such a thing. Stop lying, you annoying American pig. :/
this is so much crap. Nancy Pelosi and her communist comrades, ran there campaign on "lowering gas" prices stating the republicans are the cause.. And now, look who hasn't done SQUAT about it. On top of that, a bill was sent to the house, and they go on a 5 week vacation. It's crap..
Democrats and republicans need a cleansing. McCain wins, were screwed. Obama wins were really screwed. Obamas campaign should be called Abomination08. McCain should just hang it up. Report something meaningful pls
I remember the Democrats promise of Lower Gas prices if voted into office, and that was at half the price it's currently at. Now they still want to do NOTHING. So do nothing because it takes 10 years or so you say, and in 10 years when Gas is $10+ a gallon, you'll keep on saying drilling now will do nothing as it would take 10 years once again? It's not all about GAS, just about everything made in the us requires OIL! Anything PLASTIC, Your Carpets, etc.
Everytime Obama moves toward the center to placate the independent voter, he makes McCain look better! I'll vote for Obama, no matter what, but I wish he would stand on his original principles more, and less on McCain's. People need to see a bigger difference between the two men, and the two parties.
If only the principles that Obama campaigned on in the primaries were his. They were, simply, the ones his advisors said would get him to the next stage. Now that he's there, he's "changing" his principles so he can try to get his victory.
Obama's true beliefs are almost completely unkown to everyone but Obama himself. Everything he campaigned on so far has merely been a sham.
Young Turk, what an idiot you are. every problem is not the result of the republican party. Oil prices are the result of supply and demand, not the republican party. you have had a democratic congress now for more than a year, why haven't they fixed gas prices? because they have no more control over it than the white house. Capitalism is capitalism, and prices will stay high as long as people continue to pay. And nationalizing oil is socialism, which is what the democrats ultimately want.
Obama should have gone to New Orleans to make his big energy speech and made it outdoors right next to the oil spill which not a single network has put on TV. No one has seen the mess. That's the image showing what is the downside of drilling and there's a visual sitting right out there to sway the public. That should DEFINITELY have been a part of making a strong case. Obama's speech was actually good but only a few parst made the news. Not enough to win the argument.
Get you facts straight. More drilling means more profits for the oil companies. If you want to nationalize the oil- I would agree. Chavez is not an evil person, He just does not want the oil companies to come and steal their oil... I agree would agree the demos are weak, but they do care about the average guy more than the reps- whose bottom line is always MONEY. There are not any fiscal responsible reps left. They all spend other peoples money. That is the bottom line.
I disagree. The average voter is not informed and cerebral enough to base their votes on things like "he changed his position on this therefore he is weak"
The average voter will hear that McCain wants to tap into oil reserves here in America so that we stop our dependancy on the Middle east and that Obama is refusing that. The average voter can easily vote McCain based on this point alone far more easily than changing a vote because they view obama as "weak" because of a change in stance.
You are an idiot. The "average voter" doesn't even watch this stuff. And thankfully the "average voter" knows that Bush and McCain are one and the same evil clowns.
How right you are. We would LIKE to think that a majority of voters want to be educated about what is going on politically, but the sad truth is that they don't care enough to "waste" time to get informed.
Young Turk, Hopefully by now youve heard Obama speak in Lansing, MI... He put McSurge to shame in that speach. Another thing I cant wait for you guys, as well as the media, to cover is when McDrill-Drill-Drill and Obama have a live debate. McStained-teeth will show america just how shallow, ignorrant and overly reliant on other poeoples intelligence he is! Just wait and see!
I read the article in full. Obama is NOT giving in COMPLETELY to the oil companies. He is considering off-shore drilling for short-term relief; however, he still wants to push towards alternative energy. Unlike McCain, who ONLY CARES FOR OIL and nothing else. Look at Obama's senate record and that will tell you the real Obama. He is the right guy for president in my point of view.
You cant get multi-millions of dollars for your campaign without out oweing people. Obama is bought and sold to the oil and war profiteers like the next candidate.
Ni4d*dot*us
Because the people take care of the peoples interests.
The oil companies get the oil, not your government, your gov makes what, 15% per barrel?... which is shit all compared to most other countries, Canada it's around 40%, Venezuela is 80%... anyway, the companies end up with the oil and they will sell it to whoever will pay most for it... China, India, Japan etc, and what's more the companies get the land for the oil... they don't HAVE to drill, so they can control supply and demand in order to make more money.
WHHHHHYYYYYY? Because over 70% of Americans say they want it. They are not giving in to the Republicans they are honoring the wishes of the people. We need changes badly, it's not time for childish political games. These bastards in Washington need to start listening to the people more often. Maybe they won't have a 9% approval rating!
it's a STATE issue as it should be pin head. There is enough oil here in the US to supply the country for decades. Why are you advocating continued foreign oil dependency?
You see everyone knows mcain is a lameduck and obama is already the presedent. So he can show his true colors early. He wont loose any election, and i have a problem believing that this journelist doesnt know it already. The system is broken we need to fix that first
Noone should be surprised,He is just another New world order puppet.Until the american people get off there asses and fix this system you will get one puppet after another. There is no two party system. Now there is only a big oil , big weapons party, and all your realy doing is choosing wich flavor of Koolaid you want your poisen in!
productve, not to mention completely inappropriate for me to follow on those plans I've made . The plan and whats best for this country must evolve as circumstance dictates . It's the same with the pullout goal of 16 months . I took it as a matter of course that this was going to change as the situation changed in the middle east , but everyone gets in an uproar when Obama says he may need to tweak the dates . I think thats reasonable and responsible . I want a reasonable president , Obama .
Circumstance dictates desicion . With Demo led House and Senate , hopefully we can get some legislation that can step up and hold these oil companies accountable for price gouging . I don't think it's as black and white as saying "I'm wrong , you're right ". Having the ability to assess a situation and reassess at certain points as trends and circumstances change is vital in moving forward . The plan I have for tomorrow can change a billion times before tomorrow comes and it would be counter
As a proud Democrat i have to say that you Obama jerkoffs have cost us another election, there is NO way this Negro is going to win he is unelectable and the media now knows it. McCain has nothing to lose by baiting Obama with the race card. Hillary was afraid of being called a racist McCain and the Republicans are not, they know the Negros are not voting for anyway. Obama should be 20 points ahead. I use the word NEGRO because M L King used it proudly we Democrats tuned it into a bad word
Ha! Ha! Why would Obama, give into to the Republicans? Simple, they were always right on the issue of energy exploration {Drilling!} And the American people know it, and now Obama is running to the right, On this and many other issues. To late, every one knows, your far to the left on these issues. Enjoy the flip-flopping folks, because there is plenty more to come.... NoBama 08!
Geezus you culties just don't get it do you? You are NOT supposed to question the messiah! You are SUPPOSED to shut the hell up, bend over and take it like a "man"...otherwise known as his personal bitch.
Then afterward you say "thank you, sir, may I
please have another?"
***sigh*** maybe one of these days you all will figure that out.
This Marxist Candidate that you seem to idolize will say and do anything to become President and destroy our great nation..He ISN'T THE ONE!!..sorry to burst all of yalls bubbles...LOL
If I want a 5% salary increase, I ask for 10% when negotiating with my employer. Obama is smart making compromises. He knows Offshore drilling will not bring gas prices down, so he will prove McCain wrong. Meanwhile Oil Companies have to invest more in alternative energy.
Setting hard and fast rules before fully understanding what possible means of getting
agreement on an energy is nuts. Do you have inside information of how much Senator Obama might be agreable to compromise? Have you read the proposal put forth by the Committe of 10? Obama said no more than the fact that he might consider a compromise on some drilling after review, consultation and
comprimise which benefits the American people. This is the change we seek.
When will you idiots relize that Obama is a puppet that will do what his puppetmasters tell him to do EVERYTIME...WAKE UP OBAMA-BOTS! WAKE THE FUCK UP!
Whats wrong with that Cenk, most people want it so why not comprimise. It's not going to hurt, and it's not John McCain is right, it's the majority of the american people want it. McCain and Obama were tied in the Gallup's, since he's said this he's went up a point, I think it's related.
Cenk discussed in a previous youtube clip about how the polls showing that 70% of Americans favor off-shore drilling are very misleading. Newer polls that included other options show that the numbers in favor are MUCH lower (very much in the minority). Also, the polls go with the assumption that gas prices would go down significantly which is not supported by the facts.
Love you Cenk for pointing out the obvious. Only way we the people get the oil is to socialize it! See Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. I always LOL whenever you see people who think they're going to get the oil from it. LOL. It makes me laugh so thank you for stating the obvious Cenk and also about Bush and Cheney being oilies and the republicans with their close-knit ties with the republicans. Note to Obama: go back to how you were in the primaries!!
As a proud Democrat i have to say that you Obama jerkoffs have cost us another election, there is NO way this Negro is going to win he is unelectable and the media now knows it. McCain has nothing to lose by baiting Obama with the race card. Hillary was afraid of being called a racist McCain and the Republicans are not, they know the Negros are not voting for them anyway.Obama should be at least 20 points ahead. Thanks alot you Obama dumb shits, Hillary would have won
Read the The Energy Non-Crisis by Lindsey Williams, or at least watch The Energy Non-Crisis on Google video.. if you really want to understand what is going on with oil right NOW.
The only way to get cheaper oil in the USA is to nationalize all US Oil Companies, and we all know that it will never happen. I hear McCain screaming already: Socialism! Communism!
Obama is smart. Let's drill for more oil, and proof McCain wrong about prices going down. People are so naiv!
Cleaner techs are coming online, battery capacity is already much farther along than it was when the ev1 was 1st launched, Tesla has released it roadster, GM is slated to have its Chevy Volt plug in hybrid released by 2010, cleaner techs ARE coming, and over time they will get cheaper, stop trying to spike the economy just to be an idiot purist, I want cleaner cars too, and they are coming, but actively trying to block new oil production is not reasonable, we still need it for the transition.
And what about freight? EVERYTHING has to go by trucks at some point, we cannot drive those fleets off wind, or solar, or even biofuels via corn (not efficient enough like the sugar cane the Brazilians use). We will not be able to go cold turkey on oil for the forseeable future, higher oil costs are a reality, so hog tying production WILL INCREASE COST. Not that you care, cost be damned, so long as we do not increase pollution. FOOL. It need not be one or the other.
You take an even bigger hit for maintaining a stupid position, which is the one you seem to hold. Personally, I want all the energy gloves off. Drill more, more nuclear, more solar, more wind, more hydro, more research, more conservation, more EVERYTHING. I am not a purist like the environmental purists who refuse to do anything that is tied to pollution. We are not going to conserve our way out of the energy issue, nor are we going to ride bikes everywhere or take mass transit en masse.
Wow, this video is full of fail and nonsense. The republicans have the high ground here, sorry they do. I understand not wanting to buckle under pressure, but in this case, the opposition IS right, and the democrats ARE wrong. It's not the the oil will increase supply enough to drop prices, but the mere knowledge that the us has the gloves off in terms of combing the energy sands means speculation will take a hit, THAT is the point. Demand did not increase 100% from last year, speculation
First I'm going to say this I'm always going to support Obama. My panties are a little bunched that he said if his back was against the wall he would compromise, especialy given that fact that his argument as you said was exceedingly strong. He had economist behind him heck even our current president said that drilling would do anything right away....so he lost me on this one...I'm going to have to give it a couple days and see what he says. I honestly think he is just pandering.
get used to it folks, obama's idea of "compromise" is capitulating to the worst elements within the Republican party. the liberals will of course make excuses for him, and say this is meant to "neutralize" mccain. in their world, surrendering your principles is perfectly OK in order to get elected. typical Clintonian triangulation.
EXTREMELY disappointing but...... im just going to have to assume the fault belongs to the campaigning season and (for me at least) he still has a long way to go in order to outweigh mccain's flaws
Why not drill our oil?!? The energy prices are way too high. Mccain says "Yes," Obama says "No." Why spend so much money on foreign oil? Vote anti-Obama 2008'
oh man I was really behind Obama no campaigning or anything however I was going to vote for him but now he is made man just for saying that he would drill. he just lost a vote here.
Yeah, go Mr. Hope!! What an idiot. He's as worthless as his party. Worst of all Cenk says he's caving in.. He's not caving in, he's part of the corruption and as manipulative as the republicans have been. But all his sheeple will continue to be bline.... just watch
I am pissed and confused, this is giving them more ammo!!! Come O-b stop kissing ass! I hate this give in!! I will still vote for you... for now but you are making me not want to vote anymore!!!(I would rather get shot in the face than vote for McCain... I just wont vote at all if he keeps pissing me off with the flip-flopping)
You hit the nail on the head Cenk when you talked about Dems needing to stick to something, fight for something, even if it's not the most popular position but it is the RIGHT position. Americans need to see Dems act with principle and be willing to fight for it no matter what. Otherwise, even if people agree with their positions, they're left with no faith that the Dems will deliver on any of their promises. It's maddening as hell.
Obama is smart, Maccain isn't, so what?! It doesn't matter any more when a smart person follows a stupid one steps! I think you should giva up. Let maccain win and Obama learn something from this in mean time.
It's just not right, Obama talks about change and then he does everything republicans want, so where is the change?!
Exactly. He says one thing but does the other, consistently. He is a representative NOW. He's doing the wrong things so he can gain a higher office? Bullshit, and, why will this stop when he becomes president and wants to get elected a second term?
I support Obama, but the Young Turks are right about this issue. There are many good reasons to not drill domestically and Obama should have stuck to his guns.
Because he doesnt care to betray his election base in order to gain the elections. He sold his souls to the Republicans, and he use to do so on weekends so that those flip flop moves wont be noticeable.
Of course Democrats were wrong, and even their presidential candidate admits it. Now I can vote for Obama.
I'm not a conspiracy nut, but could it not be possible that the media is trying to create a narrative that conforms to your commonly held preconceived notions of the two parties: Democrats are weak and always cave in, Republicans are corrupt but get what they want.
You said it yourself, "if it wasn't an election year I might be ok with this."
Don't fall for the hype and the prestige. Look at the issue itself.
Here's a quote that's been ignored by most of the press:
"Like all compromises, it also includes steps that I haven't always supported," Obama conceded. "I remain skeptical that new offshore drilling will bring down gas prices in the short-term or significantly reduce our oil dependence in the long-term, though I do welcome the establishment of a process that will allow us to make future drilling decisions based on science and fact."
You have to understand something, Cenk, no matter how much you and I might hate the Republicans they still make up almost half of Congress, and are going to for at least the next few decades. Thus, if you don't compromise at least occasionally with them it creates an atmosphere of antagonism in Congress where nothing gets done, i.e. the Newt Gingrich era.
First he betrayed us on FISA, then the war, now drilling! My respect for Obama has vanished! The democrats have no backbone, and so now I'm defenately staying home in November. This will be a free-for-all for the oil companies! You know, a coward deserves to get the stuffing kicked out of him harder on principal. I can respect a loser who fights to the finish. But a spineless coward ie. the Democratic Party deserves continued failure, because the nolonger aspire to win.
Cenk you idiot, the rest of the world drills for their oil. The U.S. produces absolutely nothing worthwhile and spends 600+ million dollars annually on the military and billions and billions on social programs. That and we're 10 trillion dollars in debt with a plummeting mortgage crisis, credit crisis, and more.
Like I said, the rest of the world drills on their own land for oil. Maybe the government should tax U.S. oil much more heavily.
You're going to be eating your words very very soon. You and Cenk really need to study a little world history and global politics. We have been abusing the petrodollar dominance and enslaved other nations around the world and call it "liberation". We have done this with Iraq, Iran, Vietnam, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Soviet Union, etc... Now with the rising power of China, Russia, and with Iraq, Iran, and Venezuela wanting to depart from the petrodollar, U.S. must then start drilling.

Obama compromises too much, and gives in to others wants too easily. It is nice he is respectful and humble. It just isn't good he doesn't keep what he believes up higher at the same time. There is ways to do that. I wonder if he compromises with his wife the same way. Joking.

Barack Obama goes where the money is!

It's funny that Bush opens part of drilling and the gas price drops. Coincidence I think not. Moron!
scottje09 3 years ago
Just one thing... *where* did Obama accept offshore drilling? In the natural parks or outside of them? Because the problem isn't offshore drilling, it's offshore drilling IN PROTECTED AREAS.
If abbreviating every issue's terminology causes a confusion in cases such as this, stop abbreviating!! :P
Either way... Renewable energy is much better than oil, anyway. I have absolutely no idea why the subject is even being discussed.
Sorenzo 3 years ago
Obama said that he would allow offshore drilling for IMMEDIATE relief, but his primary interest is for the future... he didn't give in. This is an obvious compromise bc he still wants to do way more then mccain would ever conceive of doing. This guy really pisses me off bc he's going off without getting the facts. Obama just made a speech about it this week actually. I forget what its called. The thing is that oil drilling IS NOT Obama's energy plan, it's McCain's. Obama goes above and beyond.

DaddytoEthan03 3 years ago

Bullettube 3 years ago
If only the principles that Obama campaigned on in the primaries were his. They were, simply, the ones his advisors said would get him to the next stage. Now that he's there, he's "changing" his principles so he can try to get his victory.

That is the bottom line.
puppettician 3 years ago

"Why would you give in to the Republicans?"
Because the Republicans ARE right.
Because the Republican argument IS right.
Because oil on the world market WILL reduce gas prices at the pump.
Because domestic oil resources make this country safer if those foreign oil sources are cut off by war or just by anti-U.S. dictators like Chavez.
Because the Democrats don't have a clue about energy policy.

I think thats reasonable and responsible . I want a reasonable president , Obama .

I don't think it's as black and white as saying "I'm wrong , you're right ". Having the ability to assess a situation and reassess at certain points as trends and circumstances change is vital in moving forward .

Cleaner techs are coming online, battery capacity is already much farther along than it was when the ev1 was 1st launched, Tesla has released it roadster, GM is slated to have its Chevy Volt plug in hybrid released by 2010, cleaner techs ARE coming, and over time they will get cheaper, stop trying to spike the economy just to be an idiot purist, I want cleaner cars too, and they are coming, but actively trying to block new oil production is not reasonable, we still need it for the transition.
ubuu7 3 years ago
And what about freight? EVERYTHING has to go by trucks at some point, we cannot drive those fleets off wind, or solar, or even biofuels via corn (not efficient enough like the sugar cane the Brazilians use). We will not be able to go cold turkey on oil for the forseeable future, higher oil costs are a reality, so hog tying production WILL INCREASE COST. Not that you care, cost be damned, so long as we do not increase pollution. FOOL. It need not be one or the other.
ubuu7 3 years ago
You take an even bigger hit for maintaining a stupid position, which is the one you seem to hold. Personally, I want all the energy gloves off. Drill more, more nuclear, more solar, more wind, more hydro, more research, more conservation, more EVERYTHING. I am not a purist like the environmental purists who refuse to do anything that is tied to pollution. We are not going to conserve our way out of the energy issue, nor are we going to ride bikes everywhere or take mass transit en masse.
ubuu7 3 years ago
Wow, this video is full of fail and nonsense. The republicans have the high ground here, sorry they do. I understand not wanting to buckle under pressure, but in this case, the opposition IS right, and the democrats ARE wrong. It's not the the oil will increase supply enough to drop prices, but the mere knowledge that the us has the gloves off in terms of combing the energy sands means speculation will take a hit, THAT is the point. Demand did not increase 100% from last year, speculation

Yeah, go Mr. Hope!! What an idiot. He's as worthless as his party. Worst of all Cenk says he's caving in.. He's not caving in, he's part of the corruption and as manipulative as the republicans have been. But all his sheeple will continue to be bline.... just watch

Vote Obama!

Why you should vote for Obama after this?!
Obama is smart, Maccain isn't, so what?! It doesn't matter any more when a smart person follows a stupid one steps! I think you should giva up. Let maccain win and Obama learn something from this in mean time.
It's just not right, Obama talks about change and then he does everything republicans want, so where is the change?!
rezab1976 3 years ago

Obama has no principles, the republicans have drawn a really easy/effective policy of governance, that is: follow bush and his way of governing.
People should vote for Gravel if you're democrat even if its a wasted vote you won't regret it later

REPUBLICANS SUCK BALLS!

WHYYyyyyyyy, WHYYYyyyyyyyyy????

We benefit from the taxes and the jobs created.
