Do a google search for TiTi Paris who wrestled in New York and helped make lady wrestling legal there. An old newspaper article is shown on her website which indicated that lady wrestling was considered ''demeaning'' to women!
It was mostly feminists at that time who thought so and who were adamant about keeping the sport out of TV and out of public view. TiTi and others used the NYS Civil Rights Act to allow them to get licenses to wrestle.

Apparently The Fabulous Moolah has been taking credit for making lady wrestling legal in New York. I think it's time we tell the fans otherwise.

Akala, was from India . The short haired lady is / was TiTi Paris ......or that is the name in the 'Ring" magazines .

WOW! The Black Dagger, Akala Jan from Algeria in action. I don't know who her red head opponent is but she is carrying her own from what many consider one of the strongest and most dangerous women in the ring. I'm guessing if Akala were active today she would be in MMA.
