this Russian REAL MASTER of knife trowing is incomparable.... all the others, including Mr Ralph Thorn, can do nothing but try to copy the Russian's wrist trowing style and make an effort to learn that.

you speak wisdom, my sarg always told me never throw over 12 foot for just such a reason, they can see it coming, throw an arm up and block it, then they got your blade and are ticked off you just tried to kill them. not a good thing.

@2821421 ok heres the rule with knife throwing,its fake..all fake...haha just kiddding, however when it comes to knife throwing its really an opinion over opinion,its up to the person throwing,if you're looking for accuracy and speed then you want no spin, if you're looking for speed and power you want spin,i wont lie to you its really easy to learn both kinds of thowing techniques but,measuring distance and balance takes a while so think of it this way,....next post

@2821421 with a knife you're given two opportunities, instead of mastering one at a time learn both at the same time,or find out which one you like better,when you figure it out focus all of your time on that one technique and master it ,ive mastered both types...well theoretically but you get the point....i like both it gives me a chance to switch my style every once in a while, you know what i mean? remember this too...practice the destination first...then practice your aim

props to your skill, how long have you used this style of throwing? my problem when using this style is balancing power with accuracy. is the knife meant to end upside down, occilations for stability? or is it meant to fly dead straight?

From what I can deduce from his and Thorn's technique is that they are quarterspin throws, throws with such small rotation that they basically don't have enough momentum to keep on rotating, from an early release, finger action, and wrist snap in combination, but that's just MY analysis, and my philosophy is that just 'cause you brush your teeth with your left hand, does not make it the wrong way, just different. You know?

Glad to hear you've gotten better! :D In my opinion, the best exercise you can do is to practice throwing your knives where they do not spin at all, they stay vertical the whole time. That way you get control over the knife, then all you have to do is practice and adjust it so the blade spins just the right amount. I can describe my throw for you if you message me. But it sounds like you're doing good! :)

I have gone straight from a maybe 50% success rate instantaneously to a 0% rate. I've gone over everything i might be doing wrong, looked at this video a lot and gone over the movement slowly, as well as read this guy's website, where the movement is described.

I struggled through knife throwing for a couple months, then one week it just "clicked" after that I was able to throw just about any knife with a 4/5 success rate, and I've gotten better since then. It's not to hard, there are just a few things that are very important to remember. :)

My Great Uncle was British SAS in WWII and was so awesome at throwing knives it was retarded. He showed me how to throw a knife but he had pin point accuracy. He told a few stories about how he killed soldiers by throwing knives. Very effective if you have a few knives on you.
