  • At least Melissa Beyers knows who killed her son.

  • Watch the three DVD HBO documentary's, read the book by Mara Levitt and go to the website and it will disgust anyone to know that trials like this happened in our country. There was never any hard evidence that linked the WM3 to these tragic murders. Because these 3 young men wore black shirts and listened to heavy metal music- their lives were taken away from them. Unreal! But now they are free to enjoy and live life to it's fullest while clearing their name.

  • regardless of whatever evidence came up after or was withheld during, the fact that Jessie Misskelly's closed testimony of admission was presented to the jury of Damien and Jason's trial, the case should have been thrown out immediately then. these boys were never gulity of anything except living in a religiously zealous southern state in 1993 before accurate dna testing was available. John Byers had nothing to do with it either. everyone knows it was Terry Hobbs. shit, i knew it in 1994.

  • @rottenlove420 You knew it in 1994? That's amazing, since the movie was released in June of 1996.

  • @moparmonster1965 considering the murders happened on may 5, 1993...i didn't need a movie in 1996 to tell me that damien, jason and jessie were innocent. i followed the trials meticulously as i was a hs student extremely interested in law school at the time. "shit, i knew in 1994" may be a bit facetious and exaggerated, but the point i was trying to make, was that it was obvious in 1994 that the state of arkansas had the wrong people in jail-that a much more obvious killer was still free.

  • @rottenlove420 "considering the murder happened on may 5, 1993...i didn't need a movie in 1996 to tell me that damien, jason and jessie were innocent. i followed the trials meticulously as i was a hs student extremely interested in law school at the time."

I don't believe this case got any real press outside the deep South until the first movie came out, and even then, it didn't highlight the problems of the WMPD's case like we see in PL.

  • @moparmonster1965 in Crawfordsville, there was plenty of coverage.

  • @moparmonster1965 my belief in their innocence back in 94 and 95, before PL, was mainly based off of the lack of evidence, that i felt, put those boys at that murder. yes, most of the problems with this case were not brought to light until PL, but living so close to west memp and seeing the affects of this trial on both families, up close, and even with what WAS shown in media coverage, i truly believed in 1994, that they had the wrong killers. i'm not the only 1 who felt this way back then.

  • @rottenlove420 I call BS on this because you're just trying to make it seem like you were way ahead of the curve. If it makes you feel better, go for it, I guess, but I'm not buying what you're selling.

  • @moparmonster1965 ??? not sure why you've come to that conclusion, but it's been a pleasure talking (defending myself/my opinion?) with you.

  • @rottenlove420 The problems that lead most of us to conclude that the WM3 were falsely accused and convicted didn't surface until PL, and that's the reason that I don't really believe you.

What is important, however, is that you arrived at the same conclusion.

  • @moparmonster1965 "most of us to conclude". it's rather ignorant of you to assume that there was NOONE who thought they might be innocent before PL. my reasoning for believing their innocence before PL came out (and thus showered EVERYONE with more facts that were absent from any media reports before1996) likely had more to do with the fact that i was a teenager watching teenagers being sent to jail. i probably would have thought they were innocent even if they had been guilty.

  • @rottenlove420 I'll tell you what: you show me the some of original telecasts that highlight the lack of evidence for the WM3, and I'll retract my statement and apologize.

I may have been too harsh, but still maintain that the hollow case wasn't well questioned at the time.

  • @moparmonster1965 i agree with you completely on that regard. i was NEVER trying to say that there was enough evidence before PL surfaced to prove their innocence. i was stating that i BELIEVED they were innocent then. and i'm not sure how you expect me to show you any such telecasts. i certainly didn't record any of it at the time. also, any news aired in AK at that time was pretty much "they killed them". i don't need nor care for an apology. we both agree they're innocent: the end.

  • The other part is that I, as part of the criminal justice field, see an enormous misuse and outright abuse of the system and its legal powers. This was a kangaroo court if there ever was one.

  • I was hard-core into death metal at the time, and if they thought they had a good case against the WM3, what would they have thought of my long hair, my wardrobe, and my hundreds of thrash and death metal tapes, CDs, and albums? Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, and Deicide trump Metallica any day and I could've therefore just as easily been in the same boat. I guess that's part of the reason this case resonated with me then and now.

  • They join the LAPD and the BPD (Boulder, CO) in demonstrating their ineptitude, but to admit it is not only to lose face, but to possibly open the floodgates for every case they've closed in the last 20 years to appeal. That alone would bankrupt the city and possibly the entire state.

  • Normally, yes, it's a parent involved with a case like this, but while a case can be made against Terry Hobbs, it's never going to go anywhere because the WMPD won't ever admit that they fucked this case up as badly as they did.

  • @moparmonster1965 correct.....100% correct!

  • @moparmonster1965 not really sure how my, albeit over exaggerated, statement of "shit even i knew in 1994" turned into me having to defend an opinion i had when i was 15. i guess that's youtube for ya.

  • After seeing all 3 movies I cant say if these now men are innocent or guilty, besides its not for me or any other human being to judge them. In my OPINION I dont feel there was enough evidence to find them all guilty. I think that the jury had already made up there minds long before the trial was even over, because of the brutality & the victims where these 3 young innocent boys. But in my opinion I think the killer of these kids is still roaming free or has passed on taking this to the grave!

  • @suivauqaj Yep, the jury had definitely already made up their minds. I believe the WM3 are innocent, but regardless... juror misconduct fucked Damien/Jason's trial for sure.

  • @suivauqaj There was absolutely no evidence to convict these three men, then boys, of this horrific murders.

Keep in mind that the local police were already looking into Damien Echols the year before the murders, so there was already a precedent for their interest in him.

  • Not to mention that the WM3 Jury Foreman was determined to find them guilty and said so even before the actual trial started.

  • @RansomDchs I didn't catch that, but did get that he had approached the DA, asking how to get on the jury. Dumb luck and the not enough of the proper questions being asked saw him not only getting onto the jury, but ending up as the foreman.

This was a rare alignment of prejudice, religion, and judicial incompetence that conspired to steal almost 54 years from three young men.

  • @suivauqaj

with all respect to the movie producers it's not really about the movies, it's about the evidence and the evidence shows the THREE are not guilty. The stepfather of Stevie Branch killed Stevie, Christopher and Michael. Terry Hobbs. His family has come forward to tell the truth. Sooner or later, LE MUST LISTEN.

  • @hollyzone HA. 3 family members with a grudge heard from other family members who heard from other family members that Terry Hobbs killed the boys?

OF COURSE! That makes so much more sense than Jessie Miskelley confessing to his own lawyer and recording the whole thing and recounting gruesome details and corroborating them with physical evidence, like his whiskey bottle.

What a load of crap. Typical supporter

  • I think he killed them. Especially after watching Paradise Lost.

  • @pnalan Have you seen PL3? The focus has been off Byers and on Terry Hobbs for several years now. I wouldn't be surprised if they are both involved, because I can't seem to make myself like or trust Byers. Hobbs fucked himself over in his own deposition when he tried to sue the Dixie Chicks.

  • Just a few weeks ago MORE information has been given to the authorities reguarding the death of the boys. Three people took a polygraph after giving the info. Seems the Hobbs have a dirty little secret.

  • @pnalan The paradise Lost movies are excellent, but they don't tell the whole story, and its important to watch the third one.

    Mark Byers is innocent.

Instead, the evidence they found excludes the WM3 and links another stepparent to the crime scene.

  • 17 years. Can you imagine that? Blows me away.

  • at least he manned up and admitted he was wrong. terry hobbs needs to go to prison!

  • @savingtess08 Byers is still an odd duck, though.

  • @moparmonster1965 Not as odd anymore as he was in the first two movies...

  • Those things, of course, don't make him a killer, but they do account for his actions and the cloud of suspicion he created for himself. There's a much stronger case for Terry Hobbs being the killer, but the WMPD will never be able to pursue him rightfully because not only did they screw this case up so badly, but they'll never admit that they made a mistake in the first place.

  • To me, that says that he had major psychological problems to begin with. Also, Tagamet doesn't cause tooth loss like he claimed, but given his odd behavior and the part of the country he lives in during that time, it was very likely that he was heavily involved with meth. His wife was also an addict, Xanax, I believe he said, so it's an easy leap to say that they were co-dependent and enabling each other.

  • @ToxicDevil93 That's true, but after watching all three movies a few days ago, it's pretty clear that Byers, while not guilty of anything more than the WM3, had other issues. Listen to his speech in the first two; it's slurred and slow and then take into account all the medications he was taking and the fact that he didn't have his original teeth.

  • rednecks. all guilty of that

  • @SCOBO111 for the WM3 and they were all given there sentences with the same charges. I'm not trying to be against you. It was obvious there wasn't enough evidence for them to be convicted, but you be an asshole and throw around slanderous words like "idiotic" and could just say that I should have looked into this a little better, 2 weeks ago by the way, which i have now looked into it more. I can think of more ways to insult you but i'm not going to be, I'll be the better and leave it at that

  • @SCOBO111 Wooo buddy, chill out, don't hating. First of all there is a plea type that makes it that you plea guilty even though you don't acknowledge that plea. It's called the "Alford plea". The origins of this plea are from 1970 when Henry Alford was indicted for first degree murder by the state of North Carolina. He was charged with first degree murder and would of been given capital punishment but instead he plead guilty to second degree murder and got 30 years. UNfortunately it didn't work.

  • Did Byers get paid for this interview?

  • @DrHogfan I hope he was paid well for it he deserves it.

  • So he goes from despising them more than anything to being their supporter? fuck this guy

  • @DBelement Well fuck you. Once he had solid DNA evidence he admitted to be wrong and that is more than half the mother fuckers alive would do!

  • @fossilfiction KISS ASS.

  • @MrPa1310 How was that a kiss ass? On behalf of the rest of the community we would like to thank you for such a well thought out response.

  • @ghostwhiskey they could of went through trial and not pleaded guilty, because even back then the prosecutors didnt have enough evidence to try them but well you saw what happen. As i said it was a very noble thing to do for the childrens families and i'll applaude them for that but the brought the sentence upon themselves.

  • @Snakemarra09 Too bad you don't know what you're talking about. They DID plead not guilty and they DID go through a trial. Please research things before forming an opinion. It will make you look less idiotic.

  • @ghostwhiskey This case has gone cold and it is the Memphis 3's fault because since they pleaded guilty and went to jail, they allowed law enforcement to no longer have a reason to search for the killers. Their (MW3) was noble and all that but extremely stupid.

  • @Snakemarra09 what else could they do? it was a no win situation. at least now they can try to find the real killer from the outside

  • @Snakemarra09 They never pleaded guilty before the trial. Please Research the case before spitting out false statments.

  • A part of me wanting kill those 3 still exists inside of me. im not saying I feel as strong as i once felt to kill them BUT somebody out there still may. and Vedder , Dixie chicks , Depp nor anyone else could save them. THEY MUST CONTINUE ON THE PATH THAT DESTINY HAS CHOSE FOR THEM AND PRESSURE THE COPS.

  • @keemosobbee What happened at robin hood hills was a beautiful blood harvest to the dark gods of the abyss. An those boys handled it like true occultists. Not giving an inch to a society that doesnt understand nor should a religion that literally means (hidden) Baphomet rising !! Hail baal !!

  • @BizzareCorpse are you serious???

  • @ghostwhiskey Last year 28 thousand children under 12 went missing. But im sure they just drove there toyota camrys an lived in hotels with there visa mac cards till they made it in hollywood. The first religion, the real religion doesnt admit any knowledge.Take the blue pill..

  • @BizzareCorpse i really dont know what you're talking about, and i prefer the orange pills

  • @ghostwhiskey Lol! I'm with you. Actually I'll take any color pill that "bizzarecorpse" is NOT taking. Weird duck right there.

  • @venusxxblue haha,thank you

  • The reason they have to PROVE their innocence is THAT CONFESSION. Yes I agree that jessie was VERY HIGHLY OPEN TO SUGGESTION during the Interrogation BUT HE CONFESSED AND ALSO THEY PLEAD GUILTY TO THE MURDERS. so under those conditions , even if TERRY HOBBS did it because he thought his poor little defenseless 8 year old step son was an uncircumcised heathen , along with his little defenseless 8 year old friends , they need to pressure the police to bring up charges on terry hobbs .

  • @keemosobbee damn right. And that Jacobi fella. The system down there really fucked this case up!

  • Hopefully they have learn that listening to heavy metal music, brings nothing but Bad ! its a new world boys , So who will be Americans next Idol !

  • Wow. After re-watching both parts of Paradise Lost recently, I would have never guessed Byers would be the one to have a change of heart. He seemed so adamant that the boys were guilty. Wonder how much his behavior in the film can be attributed to the brain tumor.

  • @cassavetes1024 There's no tumor on his brain , his brain is the tumor. ALL off the medications he was taking was for being crazy , not one medication was for a tumor and besides what pill have you heard of that allows you to live twenty plus years with brain cancer ?

  • Is it me or does Byers kind of sound like a robot? It's like as if his response has been scripted.

  • @howxloverly He's trying to seem well educated trying to seem not to jumpy.

  • @howxloverly hes prescribed xanax i believe

  • whats more shocking to me is that byers has completley reversed his opionion,i wasnt aware but im glad to see that

  • @ghostwhiskey Me too. I'm also glad to see that he's much more calm, he came across as a ranting lunatic before. He deserves peace of mind.

  • @ghostwhiskey He saw the dna evidence that has arisen, he's convinced that Terry Hobbs is the killer.

  • @ikkfu i think he is too. its a disgrace that law enforcement wont even try to find the killer or killers. they owe it to those kids

  • @ghostwhiskey they owe it definitely to the kids and the families. What they did was a travesty and I don't appreciate it. As American people, we need to stand up for the Law is SUPPOSED to uphold, as oppose to what the Law TELLS US is the truth. We have to stop being lazy as hell and challenge the system that has sworn to protect us....and tremendously failed at it.

  • @ValeriesGal what can i say? i agree

  • @ghostwhiskey I tip my hat off to you, babe. Finally, someone has said it loud and PROUD!
