Ok I have been reading your peeps issues here. In the end between the GT2 and Zr1 its going to come down to driver. Both cars are super close. Corvette Zr1 3,352lbs 638hp w/604lbs Torque 0-60 3.3 1/4 mile 11.2 at 135mph. Porsche GT2 3,170lbs 523hp w/505lbs Torque 0-60 3.3 1/4mile 11.3 at 130mph. Again Stock for Stock its going to depend on the driver and Tire management. Both are Fast and proven Track cars.

I wonder if there are any newer videos which feature the revision 2 of the turbo, which apparently is notably quicker than it's predecessor. Also when it comes out, the 911 turbo S which has the same engine as the GT2
The GT3 Porsche is less powerful than the GT2 but in many peoples opinion it is more balanced because the power is more usable ,the GT2 on the other hand is a brute and recquires a lot more driver skill but if you can master it it is rewarding like no other! 997 GT2 for me.
@marvinbenz exactly the GT2's power is only useable in the most skilled drivers hands. Two reasons one, the engine is in the rear so you have to compensate for that when you take turns high levels of speed. With all the weight in the rear and a two drive car, you can lose it pretty fast.
Two, you have to keep the turbo boost "up". In order to use the car on a track correctly you have to keep the boost up as you are downshifting in order to come out of the corner at its full potential, it is something that is extremely difficult to do and takes years and years of practice to master.
the gt3 is a race lightened version of the 911 with a flat six in it, no turbos naturaly aspirated. i dont know what ur talking about anyway, that 911 had something done to it b/c they both have around the same power but the 911 is awd and the gt2 is rwd?? weird, the 911 looked sick as hell.

@insonita55 Actually the Z06 engine redlines at over 7k rpm.. hardly "low revving engine" standard. Granted, it's not an F1 car or a Ferrari, but not a truck either. The Z06 engine also is proven to last forever and has titanium also, lots of people ACTUALLY have Z06's with over 100,000 miles on the original engine, ... doubt this is the case with 997 GT3's. Also, the gear box in the C6Z is well reviewed - not crap, it's also very strong, and once again, it gets vastly better highway mileage.

It's a lot more similar than you think Trithij. A 997 Turbo and a 997 GT2 are both twin turbos. One is awd and the other is 2wd. A 997 Carrera is NA so your comparison is pretty off the charts. The Turbo and the GT2 a quite similar but the difference is that the GT2 is pretty much the slightly crazier version of the Turbo.
Why stupid? You cannot just look at HP figures when comparing roll ons. you have to factor in gearing, aero, etc. All these come into effect in a roll on race. So going by just hp numbers is wrong. Other wise the Carrera 2s wouldve lost to the E55 AMG in the other videos.
well the 997 TT (even with light wheels,ceramic brakes,sport chrono package..)is not real tiny slower than a Lambo LP560-4..search m5board...997GT2 is another story though..

You can't. GT stands for the Le Mans class. In the early 90s there were two Le Mans GT classes: GT 1 and GT 2. The GT 1 included cars like Porsche 911 GT 1 and Mercedes CLK GTR. The GT 2 class: 911 (993) GT 2 for instance. Later on, the GT 3 class was added, so Porsche built the 911 GT 3 (996-first series). As you can see, the bigger the number after the GT letters, the lower the class is. GT 1 has more power than GT 2, which has more power than GT 3.
Also, even the name says GT 3, the modern GT 3 ( 997 ) races at the GT 2 class, because it has become more powerful and way too good for the GT 3 class. In theory, the modern 911 GT 2 should be racing at the GT 1 class, along with Corvette C6.R and Aston Martin DBR9. If Porsche made a 911 997 GT 1 car, it would be 600 + HP, so in theory, it should be racing at the prototype class, with Audi R10 and Pegeout 908.
I think I saw one of those sequential shift conversions at the GMG Racing open house a few months ago in Santa Ana, CA. It was on a 997TT and we were told it could provide much faster shifting response. The stick was like a huge paddle with a big ball on the end, and in place of the normal stick. The driver still had to engage and disengage the clutch using the pedal, but the sequential shifter was supposed to be very fast.

It's a lot more similar than you think Trithij. A 997 Turbo and a 997 GT2 are both twin turbos. One is awd and the other is 2wd. A 997 Carrera is NA so your comparison is pretty off the charts. The Turbo and the GT2 a quite similar but the difference is that the GT2 is pretty much the slightly crazier version of the Turbo.

Why stupid? You cannot just look at HP figures when comparing roll ons. you have to factor in gearing, aero, etc. All these come into effect in a roll on race. So going by just hp numbers is wrong. Other wise the Carrera 2s wouldve lost to the E55 AMG in the other videos.

You can't. GT stands for the Le Mans class. In the early 90s there were two Le Mans GT classes: GT 1 and GT 2. The GT 1 included cars like Porsche 911 GT 1 and Mercedes CLK GTR. The GT 2 class: 911 (993) GT 2 for instance. Later on, the GT 3 class was added, so Porsche built the 911 GT 3 (996-first series). As you can see, the bigger the number after the GT letters, the lower the class is. GT 1 has more power than GT 2, which has more power than GT 3.

Also, even the name says GT 3, the modern GT 3 ( 997 ) races at the GT 2 class, because it has become more powerful and way too good for the GT 3 class. In theory, the modern 911 GT 2 should be racing at the GT 1 class, along with Corvette C6.R and Aston Martin DBR9. If Porsche made a 911 997 GT 1 car, it would be 600 + HP, so in theory, it should be racing at the prototype class, with Audi R10 and Pegeout 908.

I think I saw one of those sequential shift conversions at the GMG Racing open house a few months ago in Santa Ana, CA. It was on a 997TT and we were told it could provide much faster shifting response. The stick was like a huge paddle with a big ball on the end, and in place of the normal stick. The driver still had to engage and disengage the clutch using the pedal, but the sequential shifter was supposed to be very fast.
