I hope the next generation of Karaoke technology allows users to select which track they want shut off so they can preform, rather than just giving the option of lead-vocal.

If that happens, the next generation of karaoke tech will accomodate not just lead-singers, but also backups and instrumentalists. Or maybe even a group that wants to perform more than one part, doesn't have the whole orchestra or band covered.
