Susano'o is not that tough. Let's say that itachi's susano'o is better than sasuke, but danzo cracked sasuke's susano'o using wind style. Nagato is far better than danzo. Well it's obviously that you were confused. Shinra tensei can repel all kinds of ninjutsu. Either taijutsu won't work. The only way to defend your self against shinra tensei is to withstand its great force by using your own force. Naruto did it when he was in a nine tails mode. Amaterasu is unextiguishable but shinra tensei can repel it. Get it? Do some research man ;p

You know the six paths of pain is the strongest technique of nagato. Besides from that, nagato possessed all the ablity of the six paths. That is the power of the rinnegan, and the power of sharingan are amaterasu and susano'o. If itachi is really powerful than nagato, no matter what kind jutsu he uses, he should have beat nagato. ;p

Rinnegan isn't really created for uchiha, that eye is not belong to them. Sharingan is for uchiha clan and byakugan is for yuuga clan. I don't know where the rinnegan really belongs to.

Nagato is actually stronger because they even need all of their strongest attacks to beat Nagatos strongest attack. Itachi has the advantage tho because he can seal anyone in the sword no matter how strong they are. itachi even sealed Orochimaru away when he was almost dead. Orochimaru was way stronger than Itachi at the moment but still he got sealed away with ease.
