  • is this in calgary?!

  • @realityxcheckk some of the matches were played in Calgary

  • @bfgtrvllbll sweeet. ahah, i recognized some of the gyms x)

  • Wow, that's some great ball! Some of your opponents were in over their head. #4 was good, but you guys should adjust your perimeter defense if they are tipping that often. How old are you guys?

  • @Iffy50 well this was back in 2007, it was high school volleyball, so we were between 15 and 17

  • @Iffy50 well this was back in 2007, it was high school volleyball, so we were between 15 and 17

  • @bfgtrvllbll Wow! That's impressive! I'm 39 and I've been playing a very long time. Anyone ever go on to play professionally? I would think that D1 college is a given. You're in Canada, right?

  • @Iffy50 no one has played pro. We are in Canada yes, ten of our players went on to play in ACAC colleges, one is now playing university!

  • @bfgtrvllbll I have to find out what ACAC means... I live in the U.S. ... Anyway, yeah, great video! :)

  • u guys had 59 matches in one season?? damn i wish we had that many matches in a season

  • Joel graduated high school in 2004. He is a class act all the way.

  • fuck 2007 was a shitty year for alberta volleyball

  • @FunkaDunka What year do you think is really great?

  • @bfgtrvllbll 1999/2000 2000/2001 2001/2002

    any of those

  • @FunkaDunka Alright, well that's before my time so I can't really say too much. In our defence all seven starters went to play College, three other players on the team are also playing in the ACAC. But then I suppose some believe that Alberta College ball is in a bit of a decline. You used to play I assume?

  • @bfgtrvllbll yea the names joel schmuland

  • @FunkaDunka I don't think you are Schmuland, I think you troll around youtube beaking. Those years Joel would have been in grades 8-10 or so. You might be right about the quality of those years, but don't start pretending you're one of Alberta's best recent players and be a prick. From what I've heard Joel is a great guy, don't start tainting his name. Enjoy playing COD

  • chris gilbert plays where now?

  • @fumerextra

He played two years at Red Deer College, he is now at UofSask

  • 59-0, does that mean you didn't lose a match or you didn't lose a single game?

  • @TheHannonator2 We went to three sets in best of three matches, so we lost sets. Never lost an entire game though

  • that one at 3:25 is pretty sick ive done one befor and its the best feeling ever its like a warm up hit cuz u can just wail on it

  • That's some real quality players. congrats

  • quick question, was the 59-0 meaning you never lost a single game or you won 59 matches and lost some games?

  • We won 59 games and lost zero throughout the whole highschool season. tournament games included

  • nice, thats impressive :) i was thinking 59 matches was quite a lot.. lol

  • @seven5678 lost some sets, never lost a game all season

  • how come at 3:10 there is only one guy with a white shirt on?

  • That would be the libero. fairly common occurrence in most volleyball matches on the planet.

  • wow jinheneamerican, seriously? yes it is true that for the can-am tournament it all depends on which teams are sent, but other than the U of A, the canadian teams that go are usually middle of the pack teams, and still beat the american teams. At the international level, the USA dominates because your best 12 are stronger than our best 12, but you need to inform yourself about the quality at the university level. Canadian University ball is easily stronger across the board than the USA

  • Sorry- you can't cut it. Who decides who is the "best" in North America? It's just who decides to go- that's how tournaments work. Assuming those "great" college players exist, and the Canadian national team has access to them, why do they never win in international competition? Any Olympic medals exist? World Championships? USC and Pepp both depend on the year. UofA is ONE team- not a country- not representative of the aggregate.

  • Men's volleyball only exists in a few American states. Most of America consists of old people and illegals that have come because everyone wants to get into the USA.

So there's NOT that much to choose from- most of it is concentrated in California.

What GOOD American teams would WANT to go to the "WCC"? I've never even heard of that tournament, so you must've gotten robbed on competition. IF CAN has so many good players, why are they still in the bottom of of the collegiate food chain?

  • Dude. ever heard of CAN-AM Challenge? tournament between the top 8 universityies and college teams from North America play eachother in Edmonton Alberta. Every year our teams destroy the best USA has to offer. Last year I saw UoA destroy teams like Pepperdine and USC. You really don't know how good our university level is compared to yours. And yes, you do have that much more to chose from for a national team.

  • National level of play IS American high school volleyball. Anywhere the sport's been around more than 2 years, there are wicked teams. I'm sorry, Canadian volleyball won't compare- hence them never winning in international competition.

  • then why didn't an american team win JO's? they didn't even make it to the finals, it was Elite west vs. puerto rico, and elite west (canadian) won. i think ive told you this before.

  • Haha yeah, Elite West, NAVC, Park and GP could have came top 8 in JO's. American Club and High school ball fail...

  • Haha dude, the only reason your national teams do so well is because USA has a population of 335 million people compared to our 33 million. Not gunna lie, that's a lot more to chose from, but when it comes to High School and Club programs, canadian teams are sick. Everytime an American team came to our WCC "Western Canadian Challenge" Tournament they got rocked. My High school team wasn't even good and we handled them pretty easily. Just saying, make sure you know your shit before you rip on CAN

  • I was surprised at the whole "59-0" thing... but then I was reminded that it's Canadian volleyball... Haven't been too impressed by the overall level of play- but this team is good- hence the record.

  • You are dumb, this is high school, what do you expect? National level of play? No, this is alberta high school volleyball, it really doesn't get much better. And 10 bucks says these guys could compete with your high school american teams.

  • GP is sick

  • top 10 of sicking plays...

the best one is the most boring one..

  • Thats called Prefect. thats some sick volleyball right there Lci runs show

  • ...except for the year before that when they got wrecked by CCS

  • We played these guys at the sal tourny and there not that good we lost to them in the bronze but we were missing our starting setter

  • Look at the year. 2007. Pretty sure LCI got bronze this year, which just so happens to be 2009. Notice the two year difference? Also notice how NONE of the players in this highlight reel are the same players you played on Halloween? Interesting...

  • I know... that's what I pointed out when I said there not that good this year and by common sense of course no one in this video is going to be playing today

  • @s0260407

    2nd in 2006, 1st in 2007, 2nd in 2008, 2nd in 2009

  • Haha I'm sure your offense would have thrived with him there

  • is this college club or high school?

  • alberta 4a high school ball

  • whats this song in the backround called?

  • second time i've answered this haha,

    Sandstorm by Darude

  • Great volleyball!!!

The west canadien are strong, but the east come back.

That a team of Ontario that won the U18 natianal this year and a Quebec team that won the U17 national, but I don't know if it's because the national was at Ottawa???

I'll go at vancouver this year for the national, I hope to see great teams, I know the the west is really physical

Sorry for my english, i'm french

  • Yes, they did win... but if you look at who finished in the top eight. Its mostly teams from Manitoba, Alberta and BC. There is just the odd good team from eastern Canada almost every year.

  • 4.50 veeeeeery goood!

  • Trevor Harding is amazing i'm jealous kepp it up cousin:)!

  • are u guys playing in a lacrosse/hockey rink at 5:20???

  • random question.., but its in an indoor soccer center in spruce grove

  • They are playing on a sport court on a hockey rink.

We played on them at tournaments all the time.

  • sick vid man! alberta high school ball is pretty intense

  • a 2:40 that was not an X

  • the middle ran a 31, power a 53. they 'crossed' each other's hitting lanes. obviosly it was not a rightside X (51&43), but we still call that an X ball.

  • wow u guys up in canada are pretty good u should come down to the states sometime and play a california team im sure it would be a great match up

  • canadian teams do match up to american teams and overall are kinda better. but team usa will always be better than team canada because there is just way more of a talent pool in the states

  • true that

  • Where is this? What province?

  • Alberta

  • Volleyball is soooo fun. Its just an awesome sport. Many people think hockey is way butter but i really believe its not. Hockey more fans but whatever. And you guys do rock :)

  • Dude what are you talking about!!! Number 3 was the best... middles kick ass!!! Oh and your guys team looks good but the other teams looked terrible... you guys look like you never had to hit against a good blocking team... anyone can pound balls down when there is no block... so try going over triple blocks!!! Good luck playing some adult AA UASV after collage!!!

  • pffft number 2 was the best number 1 was crap

  • is that norway playin at 6:12

  • Yes it is

  • I see you where playing CCH, their is a school in london called CCH, is LCI around london? (Ontario) If so what is the schools name?

  • nope, we are both located in lethbridge alberta

  • you guys have some good volleyball out there in canada, id say u guys could be stae champs out in the midwest and east coast

  • yea you guys are pretty filthy, hows the competition out west? ive heard its the best volleyball in canada. im from ontario and there are some pretty sick teams, like the AAAA ofsaa champs all play on the same 18U club team, mississauga pakmen, they won nationals this year, and im guessing alot of you play club so you mightve played them or atleast seen them. great vid

  • Ya man, vball out in Alberta is pretty high caliber, BC too. I saw the Pakmen play in that Nat. final, it was disgusting. I'm rattled that they dont have any good videos on youtube. only a hitting warmup.

  • LVC (Lethbridge Volleyball Club) was the only team to beat Pakmen at the national tournament, so yea ball out west i'd say is pretty dec... our juvenile 19u alberta team beat ontario in the national final this year aswell in straight sets

  • alberta v-ball is pretty tank

  • nice video its was great

    but.

what is the song of final video?

    i need plx

  • Sandstorm by Darude

  • TOP 3 was the BEST......

  • Wait. Is this High School or College? Seems like college. Nice.

  • you guys are sick!

    the setter is unbelievable

  • Your middle blocker is really slow realizing where the set is going

  • very very nice solid team...u guys r a canadian team right cuz im canadian too but i live in the states now where u guys located and whats ur division is it like single A or double cuz my teams double

  • We are 4A, which is the highest high school level in Alberta.

  • and we are from Lethbridge.

  • they're pretty good for seniors. they have good D and offense. there plays are pretty fast too. to bad i don't have the height like they do or else i'll be as good as them for offense only but my d sucks

  • we actually didn't have a very tall team, i think our tallest player was our middle who was 6'4. on our whole team i'd say our average height was maybe 6 ft.

  • your outside hitters rock

& your libero has great effort :)

  • you guys play good, love the way you let your attackers hit in other positions. Don't know how you call that, we call it combinations.. My old team played like that. We didn't have the height or the hitting power so we played with speed and combinations.

Only thing to improve might be to set your left side hitters faster, but you guys are pretty damn good

  • cch? is that catholic central?

  • Yep

  • nice, u guys seam to have own them.. when they came to nova scotia they raped everyone in the dalhousie tournament, but it was only cuz of that number 10 dude nobody really did anything about him. are your guys club team in nationals this year?

  • Ya he is a good player for sure. And ya we're going, the gr12s on the team are on LVC u18 Impact. And the 2 grade 11s and one grade 10 are on SEVC u17. You goin too?

  • yeah, im pretty stoaked. Were U18 hurricanes but we only have 1 gr 12 haha everyone else is in grade 9 and ten and im in grade 11. should be a good time though

  • man...it's hard to stop hits when the other teams can't close their block..which is definitely not a problem for you guys apparently ;)

  • hahaha that's a sick vid boys, lovin the commentary

  • nice commentary!! one thing it was connor, jay and jared in the front row not jordan... he comes in for me after.

  • omg haha o wow i just showed my whole family and they rofl'd
