It's a shame that many of the newer generations of DBZ fans don't seem to know about the original DB. On TV they show DBZ and they will dub GT, but they didn't dub this first. Not many people give DB enough credit. Look at the strategy, the techniques unique to the fighters. I was introduced to the series through DBZ and when I discovered the original DB I was surprised that characters like Tien, Roshi, and Yamcha actually did something. We need more DB like games.

THIS is why I love me some DB. Actual depth to the fights, actual martial arts (ok, to a certain extent), and back when the power levels didn't mean midlevel characters could destroy a planet with a finger kai beam. Tenshinhan as a badass was great, it's a shame he got phased out. This, and Ten/Goku are two of my all time favorite DB/Z fights. The Budokai's were absolutely fantastic.

And there's no way he could have beaten Frieza; Piccolo was stronger than him when he left King Kai's planet, and even after fusing with Nail on Namek was barely able to hold his own after Frieza transformed the second time. Although he must have gotten quite a bit stronger while training for the androids, or else he wouldn't have been able to hold off Cell at all.

Tien Shinhan is one of my favorites for some reason. I heard he's in Dragon Ball Z too, which i'm almost done with Dragon Ball than i'll be starting the Dragon Ball Z series. So hopefully they don't ruin his character in the next series -_-, they probably did though.

I never actually watched DragonBall but I do agree with those who say that in Z if you're not a super saiyan you're nothing. I've watched DBZ 3 times, and DB 2 times in their entirety. After rewatching this entirely out of context I realize that what makes these fights in DB exciting is the character development/plot. Alone this fight is ok, but when you put it within the context of the show and storyline it's WAY more intense/badass.

Hey, after reading your comments, my apologies :P. I guess I based it on the official powerlevel guide, where both Tien and Goku were exactly at equal strenghts, and roshi just behind them.

I forgot Roshi buffed up before. However, I still say believe Tien would've won if they continued to fight, but we'll never know. Your opinions though guys, so I take that consideration.
