There are some differences between the M4 and the M6 that prevents it from being just another M4 designated as something else, for example the self-regulating gas piston system. The M6 is based on the M4, but it isn't exactly an M4.

It does share 80% of the M4's parts, but it's still not an M4.

@ccap3211 That's actually wrong, before the 'assualt rifle ban' this could be had for about 1900 to 2500 dollars. I actually know this from another gentleman here on youtube He bought an H&K MP5 full auto before the ban for 900 USD. One person can buy a Pre-ban full auto weapon from another individual, the 'ban' just prohibited civilians from buying new full auto firearms. This LWRC is a post-ban weapon so it cannot be purchased by civilians. But this would cost law officers maybe 1900-2500.
