  • not trying to be a troll, but the sound quality is a little fuzzy, for the vox especially, ik theres distortion on the guitar though, so idk.

  • where can i find the guitar tabs?

  • Holy Sh*t thats awesomeness bro my god its awesome!

  • Like any rap Zo?

  • Zo should be invited to a GOP convention to play Bob Marley music.

  • it's funny this video has a lot less views than all of your political rantings, i guess conservatives dont support your "jungle" music.

  • i dont even like bob marly but this was cool

  • good vid man keep it up bro

  • its how 311 got started!!!zo you great but get that word out

  • Yeah Zo!!! What a great take on a Marley classic!

  • great playing, but your guitar tone sounds like a bad DOD distortion pedal

  • Double bass = epic

  • mmmhmmm sing it Zo tell 'um :)

    <333 Leah

  • nice cover xD

  • Awesome !!! Was just listening to your Cd today. Have it on my iPhone...

I'm one of your biggest fans!!!! Ya!!!

  • Great cover.

  • AMASING!!

  • Holy shit man, very good cover! Bob would be proud.

  • looks like you have a warwick bass it looks sick, I love bob marley, and at first wasn't sure of your interpretation of the song but as it went along, I definitely think you totally rocked it! definitely down with it

Can I be your tour bassist if you ever go on the road?!?

BTW keep your head up ZO, I saw your haters video, they just can't stand someone with a mind of their own, keep preachin' that common sense man..

  • Lay your drum tracks down first and use a clik. Practice with a clik to get used to it~ you can program a clik track in your ipod to record with it. Then lay your bass down. Everything else after that. Lead is last~ use a scratch if you need to, but replace it with your lead last. Keep on keeping on!

  • ZO, i love you man, but please don't do that to THE Bob Marley.

  • Love it ZO!

  • Very nice Zo! you have talent and i hope wish you great success. Lets stand up. God Bess.

  • Very cool.

  • Awesome Zo! I knew you had great constitutional values, but just found out you're a terrific musician too. You should team up with Glenn Beck and Ted Nugent. You have a lot to say, and more people need to hear it.

  • too bad i don't know the covers--guess i have led a sheletered life, lol. but i'm amazed at your talent. the guitar is awesome, the drums, even better! wish youtube would bring out the vocals better, but i bet you sound awesome live!

  • kinda sounds like the band Sleep haha i dig it man, do more covers

  • do you do everything on all your songs?

  • That doesn't make his music bad to conservatives, does it? This song has meaning to anyone, don't let humanity be divided so badly in your mind, you stupid token.

  • And he's taking the song and putting a conservative spin on it. MEATHEAD.

  • Pretty weak complaint... if you don't like it, go to your mocha shop internet cafe and have a few more double latte's and read your liberal blogs to recharge your hate and continue to be blinded by it. Let the freedom lovers be hater.

  • Nice! You are very talented man!

  • very good, Zo!

  • The words "incongruous juxtaposition" come to mind. As do the words "DAMN! THAT'S A JAM!!"

  • Can we have the lyrics in the description?

  • Good Job Zo you rocked it!!! Great guitar sound. Keep On Rocking.

  • you're pretty good

  • Aah, a hard rock twist on classic Marley, nice!

Love the timing of this video too.

  • Had no idea that Zo was solely 20 lb Sledge. That makes him even more awesome.

  • Great cover.

  • not bad

  • dude, this spin on the classic is killer!

  • I am an ATHEIST Conservative. I refuse to call myself Republican because true republicans are mostly religious, but Zo chill out on all the god stuff okay. I understand your right for free speech and freedom from as well as of religion but sometimes I've stopped watching you because of some of your points having to do with your god. I agree with most of what you say, but not everyone who is a fan of you is christian.

  • @kingzach74, Don't try to change MY Zo!

  • you dont understand that he's not going to change his opinion or his message because of people's different beliefs.

  • @kingzach74 Zo IS a Christian, and he is stating his own beliefs. I don't agree with everything that many people say-I'd call myself a conservative independent-but I'm not offended or annoyed by their views. It's fantastic that Zo is so secure in his beliefs.

    -Scottie

  • @jkingzach74 If he diminishes the role of God in his views than he would not be who he is. I am a Christian who listen to atheist (agree with and disagree with) channels on youtube. I never leave a post telling them to tone down their view on Christianity b/c I know that is who they are and if I was not open minded enough to respect or tolerate their views than I should stop listening instead of asking them to not be who they are. Fortunately for me, I have no problem with atheists in general.

  • @kingzach74

Oh well. Maybe his God played a part in the the process to which he arrived at an opinion. He should be able to fully explain why he believes something and it's better if he did. If he didn't say why, people wouldn't trust what he says.

I like him. I think he has a strong voice and he's much better researched than the vast majority of political and social commentators.

The regular utilizing of morality as a guide, whether the person is Christian or Atheist, is something to admire.

  • As usual, good job my friend. I think its awesome how artists dont need the big record companies anymore.

  • rock-n-roll Zo keep up the good fight

  • hey zo can u send me that riff. great man keep up the good work. christian conservative republican

  • lol *applause*!

love your personality Zo! And this is a time we really need a song like this...

  • I'm gonna get torn up for this, but...

Zo, you are great on the instruments, but you need to find another vocalist.

  • I agree. Or at least cut out the other you voices. It would sound better with only one voice.

  • This man is a god.

  • Zo the multi talented man

  • 5 *****

  • Awesome! How do you keep the timing for each sequence???

  • @mdlagreca Hi! I lay down the drums first, and hold the tempo as best I can, and that's my time reference for the rest of the elements!

  • very impressive!!!

  • Republicans can rock! Awesome vid (-:

  • Wow...they look exactly alike!! I think it's weird how the members of ZZ Top look alike....now this!! Quads, maybe?

Seriously, great cover!! Maybe re-do the lyrics of "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult and make it "Fedzilla"?

  • That s cool. One thing though, bring up the treble on the vocals. To compressed by a hair. Damn good job though. Two thumbs up !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bob Marley FTW!

  • Great cover Zo! Keep em coming.

    God Bless

  • like it!

  • simply outstanding job u did on this cover Zo...u rock dude

  • You realize your selling out singing this song? Black people aren't supposed to do this stuff. Why aren't you into violent rap music or something? Your nothing but an uncle Tom. Im just kidding of course but I know you get that crap all the time. God bless and good son :)

  • I think this is really cool and shows a lot of talent.

Interesting to take a Rastafari liberal's song for a conservative Christian purposes, but whatever....it does rock!

I wish you success with your music.

  • nice! Is it hard syncing up the different tracks?

  • A little. There's a bit of latency when recordin' the audio. so it takes some nudgin'. But for instance i video recorded me playing the drums as I was laying down the drum track, so it's a real time track, and reference. Thanks for checkin' out!

  • An electronic set... tsk tsk :-P

  • Lovin' it! You ROCK, bud!

  • Man, this is so good. Good luck on American Idol! I don't usually watch, but if you make it, I'll be sure to tune in and cast my vote for you. More people need to hear the good news of Christ, some different music like metal or a hard rock, and have more positive role models that are Conservative and stand up for morals. Also, you seem to be more down to earth. We definitely need more celebrities out there like that. Good luck dude and God bless you and your family!

  • Thanx 4 the diversion from the healthcare bill passing. I cant seem to get away from it. The song is very fitting to the circumstances today though.

  • Are you actually PLAYING this, too? Damnnnn!

    Love your sound. 2 questions:

    1. Where'd you get that Mic; and How Much? (Nice!)

    2. What program do you do your Editing in? I like that split-4 screen look. (again; Nice!)

    You ROCK, Zo!

  • Mucho Thanks! LOL! i think the mic is a Shure. Singing is my lesser focus, so I just grabbed a mic that was available for not too much coin. I used Adobe premier 6.5 to edit the viddy, and cake walk MC4 for the audio. Thanks again!

  • LOL talk about a one man band.

  • I like most of it, but you really need to clean up those vocals

  • Wow, totally adore you, ZO, but the mix on this was nowhere bordering on awfultown.

We need to hear the vocal, we need to NOT hear the electronic drums so much, the WORDS are what is important, to conservative patriots today as much as they were ever before!

  • Thanks! but you do know I'm not auditioning for American Idol right? I recorded the audio and viddy, and edited them in a day. I just do this cause it's fun, and I think you're taking way too seriously. I use electronic drums out of respect for my neighbors. Sorry. if they offend you. I've got a more important message for conservatives. Lighten up!!! I've been saying that for years and conservatives don't see why liberals are taking over.

  • @machosauceproduction LOL Zo. I like the tone of your guitar - sounds like old Bad Brains - rockin!

  • BWAAAAAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! HE PASSED THE BILL LOOOOSERS!!!!!!!!!!! GET OFF OF THE WHITE SUPREMIST CRACKERS DICK AND GROW SOME BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s. no disrespect to all white people in general, one love : )

  • Zo,

do "Open Season" by Stuck Mojo.

THAT WILL SEND YOU OVER THE TOP

  • What would really be insane ? ZO singing....

"Open Season" - Stuck Mojo THAT WOULD FREAKIN' BE OFF THE CHAIN !

    :+)

  • that looks like so much fun

  • Good grief...not only is he wise but he can rock...what can you not do?

  • IMPEACH HUSSEIN ! ! !

  • Stand Up for Freedom, and Against All Tyranny.

Never Forget The United States Constitution!

  • "Get up, stand up, don't give up the fight." -- words to live by for the past year

  • Jamaica's government is controlled by 200 influencial families through their network of financial interests.

A similar structure of power occurs here within the US through corporations who hold sway over government, media, medicine, etc.

  • So you Know the Oligarchy of Obama with Soros, GE, NBC, etc.

  • Great version! Heavy, too!!!

  • this is awesome Zo!

  • You should do a one screen shot of four different captures of yourself! That would look awesome! A lot of people like communitychannel use that kind of special effect to make four figures of herself appear in the same shot!!!

  • You go, Brother!

  • Love it, Macho:)

  • Good cover, but the vocals are kind of buried in the mix.

  • Great cover!

  • lamo this is awesome.

  • Ah ha! I knew they were clones!

  • wow!! playin all instruments haha

  • Comment removed

  • great cover. I think Marley would have liked it. God Bless.

  • @XrisSmiles I might be a moron, but I am capable of understanding that putting everone under the "Republican political umbrella" is narrow minded and ignorant. Further I think Marley would have liked the song on it's musical merits. If we can't enjoy what is good about the people we disagree with we truly are blind. In the words of Richard Pryor, why don't you have a coke and a smile, and shut the F#*k up.

  • chill, he's just mad because nobody loves him.

  • LOL!!!! that Richard P quote was a good one. i really get ur point, I only say that because ManchoSauce builds his credibility based on the fact that he can point out Liberal contradictions. but if he made a joke of it, that would be different, but he is serious about a song &artist that contradicts his beliefs

any1 that has half of a brain should know Bob Marley thought totally opposite of ManchoSause, infact thats a rebellion song for Liberals in a world of vastly conservative politics.

  • "sellout oreo"?

    who's the "fuckin moron" really

  • Cool stuff Zo!

  • one man band! my dad did that with a drum machine and synth's back in the day...hahah

Nuthin but respect for yah ZO!

  • That's awesome. Keep jammin man!

  • Awesome my friend!

  • I always get so caught up in responding to the many wonderful users who like being belligerent that I forget commeting on the actual content of the video :P

So...Excellent job Zo! A true Renaissance man you are, my friend :)

    Kepe it up!

  • Man! And you're doing this all in your living room! Awesome!

  • nice one man show!

  • Great Classic Tune, Zo!

  • Multi-talented, jack of all instruments! Awesome!

  • Mad skills man.And i think your guitar tone is fine.If Bob were around today I have no doubt he would have ventured into a more aggressive tonality. One must move with the times or be left behind. Its the same as a "NIV or NLT".Some people will say its sacreligious, but I say,"whatever it takes to get the message out."I cant see anything wrong with that.

  • You do realise this is an anti-christian song don't you?

  • @NewYorkCanWait See how tolerant and open minded I am?

  • @NewYorkCanWait, explain how it's anti Christian? Have you even read the lyrics of the original song? If you're not educated enough to realiZe that you can't spell, I'm willing to bet you have no clue what you're talking about.

  • @NewYorkCanWait , oh and btw Marley spoke of Jesus and his religious views in many songs and interviews...

  • @irish7769 BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • I highly dislike your guitar tone, but the drums are sick

  • Kewl song man!

  • Sweet drumming Zo, how long you been drumming for?

  • @keymaker2112 Thanks! I started in 86 I think, but man I've been slackin'. I'm tryin' to get back on top of my game.

  • @machosauceproduction Conservatives can rock, after all !

  • Other than the fact that I really REALLY hate electric kits (they have no soul).

    This was tight my brotha

  • YES YES YES!!!

    5/5

  • @yardie247 Hell yes I've flipped.....I used to be one of you blood sucking, life taking liberals! It takes one to know one! Except now, WE are the ones spit on and called the "N" word, and even worse! This is no alternate reality.....get your head out of that sphincter hole behind you! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BARABARA STREISAND!!!

  • Great, Zo! VERY APPROPRIATE - time to stand up to Obama, Pelosi and other Big Government bullies in Washington! Used to play this song in a bar band, 1974 and 1975, excellent song. Power to the people!!!

  • @upinhere7

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of who is in control. Who do think these politicians go to for money when they are campaigning.

    Private Corporations, Banks, Insurance Industry.

The one who pays the piper, calls the tune.

Government is not in control you poor conservative idiot.

  • @yardie247 , I beg to differ...you Leftists always make it personal, insult people - because you do not have the argument. If I am an idiot (although I have undergraduate and graduate degrees), so were the Founding Fathers and so are most of the people who have to pay the taxes. Taxes which the Government spends folloishly and to gain votes. Read de Toqueville.

  • @upinhere7

Just for clarification. Who do Republicans rely upon to be elected for office? How do they attract finance to make it happen? Once in office who do they answer to?

You and I would have a more productive conversation if we disregard political labels and focus of power, who has it, how it is exercised.

  • The same 10% that the Dems do. They gather millions from Hollywood and the music industry then you have Oprah, Bill gate like to go for the winner. He donated to both Bush's and Obamas Campaigns.

  • MOst Entertaining

  • YEAH!!! ROCK ON ROCK ON!!!!!!

  • Awesome, can't wait to see a gig.

  • I love that song.

  • VERY COOL!!! really liked that

  • Nothing like some good old fashioned rock 'n roll.

  • awesome, amazing drummer you are.

  • The rest of You Haven't Done Nothin.....

We would not care to wake to the nightmare thats becoming real life.

But when misled who knows a persons mind can turn as cold as ice.

Why do you keep on making us hear your song?

Telling us how you are gonna change right from wrong......cause if you really want to hear our views, you havent done nothin!!

  • You Havent' Done Nothin...Stevie Wonder

We are amazed but not amused by all the things you say that you"ll do.

Though much concerned but not involved in decisions that were made by you

But we are sick and tired of hearing your song! Telling how you are gonna change right from wrong! Cause if you really want to hear our views, you haven't done nothin!

Its not too cool to be ridiculed but you brought this upon yourselves. The world is tired of pacifiers we want the truth and nothing else!

  • Awesome ZO!

  • Zo, I adore Marley and I like you a lot. Having said that..what were you thinking? UGH!

  • Sweet.

  • Bob Marley would have supported the Healthcare bill....

  • "Bob Marley would have supported the 'Heathcare' bill..."

You can always tell just how much of a soapbox someone is on when they capitalize a word like "Healthcare" at the end of a sentance.

Marley would have supported resistance against a government that passed a "Healthcare" bill.

You couldn't be more wrong saying he would support it, but hey, what should I expect from someone subbed to pelosi's youtube page? hahaha

"Every man gotta right to decide his own destiny." - Bob Marley

  • @Vlaxitov

Do you know anything about rasta?

  • @yardie247

I probably know more about rastafarian than you know about trolling. Not all of it is nice. It gets downright afrocentric with alot of issues. I'd say the best example of how afrocentric rasta is would be black jesus.

Politically, rasta is very anti oppression and very anti socialism. Read a book yardie.

  • Awesome man!

We need to stand up for our rights now or we're going to lose them. We been complacent for far too long.

  • Awesome cover man!

  • I love this song. It's a bit harder than I'd always known, but this is FANTASTIC!

    You are so amazing, Zo.

Keep it up! Youtube would be pointless without you and Crowder.

    -Scottie

  • Just as good as your last one Zo! Keep it up!

  • You fucking ROCK!

Keep the spreading the message. Thanks for the encouragement.

  • You are adorable.

  • you really should just stick to politics.

    really.

    no, really.

  • Cool song and production, is that a vintage Les Paul?

  • @Vakinar its not a Gibson at all... its an EXP

  • @yardie247 really???!?!?!?! Bob Marleys songs stemmed from his religious view and love for God. The only political stuff he really dealt with was the mistreatment of others by government. And that again goes back to his views on God and how people should be treated. In fact .. just before he died he went from his Rastafarian beliefs and actually converted to Christianity. So maybe rethink some of that stuff.

  • @yardie247 is this a serious comment? Bob Marley was a pot-smokin' hippy.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Are you off your rocker? Hippies were middle-class white kids with time on their hands, smoking weed, popping acid, etc, trying to find meaning in their otherwise boring lives.

Bob Marley was a real authentic sufferer who came from the bowels of poverty in poorest Jamaica.

While people like yourself waist time leisurely tossing shovels at trees, Bob was traveling the planet fighting for justice and equality.

    The two don't compare.

  • @yardie247 HAHAHA! nice GENERALIZATION based on ONE video. You have no clue who I am, nor what I do, nor what countries I have been to.

  • You're wishing violence on someone utilizing their freedom of speech.

I think the song in this video is more than appropriate because of violent individuals such as yourself.

  • Yardie - Are you a fucking moron???

  • @Mrcharliebobo

    Chant down babylon.

  • @yardie247 I thought it was cool man hipped and grovey FAR OUT
