So, beware of dishes made in China. My SPODE Christmas dishes use to be made in England.. now China and they appear different. the glazing is not the same. Have not had those tested but they are different and the weight is different. Just beware of any dishes or serveware from China.

I dont agree. The econamy in the U.K and U.S.A is very bad at the moment, while china's econamy is growing to fast. If product were to be made in the west, it would help the econamy hugely. China also copies alot of pattented tradmark name, they copied the ps3 and called it the ps3 fanguy.

Most of my appliances here at home are made in europe or mostly european brands because europeans are very strict in quality control and their workmanship's just, amazing. I know european brands can be pretty expensive but if these things will last? I wouldn't have second thoughts. If philippines only have locally made appliances I'd buy them because our country's workmanship is good and reliable too.

China doesent only make crap. It makes lots of high quality products like electronics. The reason most people in America think that China only makes crap is that China only sends America cheap, crappy souvenirs. The good stuff goes to Europe(YAAAAAY!!! :)). For example I bought my watch from 20$ at a chinease store 8 years ago and since then it hasent broken down or needed a batery change, and it also has a lot if extras.
So just cause China screws you, doesen't mean that it screws everyone.
