Nirmala is a nice person so are her ideas. Only thing is she has to learn is to trust Sinhalese and the government. If you have read history, Buddhist monks have always been active in Sri Lankan politics. At the centre of resistance to Europeans when Sri Lanka was invaded were the monks as well as Tamil and Muslim activists. They played a very significant role in obtaining independence in the last century
I have read in the past that Rajani was killed bcos she befriended a Sinhalese man. So she was taken, tortured and shot. If that article was correct, I applaud Rajani for willing to see past the differences. She stood up for what she believed in and for that she was prosecuted. While extending my sympathies, I see a positive side which is all the more important at this time in our country. His daughter was former President Chandrika Bandaranayake.

They were the rulers of Sri Lanka, after British Independence.
