@ronfowlermusic Excellent philosophy -- focus on the sweet over the bitter, and one I practice, myself. I have too many friends who focus on the bitter and look to exact revenge, or they whine about aging or being bored. Waste of time when there are so many wonderful avenues to explore, so many people to meet with fascinating stories to relate, and exciting new skills to learn and develop. I tell them, "Some of our friends never made it to age 20. Would you like to trade places with them?" :)
Loved this in 1974 and still love it, now. The best love of my life was in my life then but interfering people split us apart.. We should never have let that happen but when you are young, you tend to trust people who later prove untrustworthy. Wherever he is, I wish the very best for him because he so deserves it. I watch this video frequently to remind me to always hold on to, cherish and respect what love I have in my life even if it isn't what I once had with him. :)
@grammypj familar story - I suspect many of us have been through similar circumstances. Fortunately, these songs can remind us of what was once good. Maybe a bittersweet memory - but i try to focus on the sweet over the bitter.
Thanks for posting. In a perfect world Mr O'Sullivan would still be a superstar. But sadly, there's a lot of kids out there who haven't even heard the name. I think that's a shame (Oh it rimed, didn't it? :)). Well, what I'm trying to say is that this guy could really write fantastic popsongs...
@littlegeo01 Pinched my sons IPOD ta while back for work. So stuck a load of my stuff on it. A week after getting it back he asked me who sang that "Never rhymed" track.I thought "here we go". Lets slate dads music time.
I said Gilbert O Sullivan why ?? He said cos its AWESOME

He's spent the last month "youtubing" Ray and his work. And now has 13 albums on his IPOD. ALL Gilbert. Intermingled with Eminem !!!
