  • this bonehead (most likely republican) said they should have killed him on the battlefield when it was legal; however common article 3 of the 1949 geneeva convenventions contradicts was this facsist said.1-a prohibits murder of all kinds, and 2-a says the wounded and sick shall be collected and cared for!

  • why everibody make the american soldier a big diel like they are gods. they are like every other soldiers

    >this guy things that american medical care in jail is bettter that in canada. thats waht canada gets for supporing US on everithing

  • Good for you Ralph! Evenmore so now that this terrorist admitted to killing the US soldier...so you can strike the "Alleged" bullshit. I'm sure that this man's children who will grow up without their father will agree with you. As far as the child soldier argument that bleeding hearts are crying...my grandfather snuck into the Canadian Army at the age of 16 and fought in France. That is not much different from a 15 yr old Khadar. Does Guantanamo have room for the rest of his shitty family?

  • Al Qaeda. His whole shitty family. He's where he belongs, and his Mama should be there too so she could explain the concept of Martyrdom to him again.

  • my mouth is open in shock at this creeps attitude what a tool he is, "alleged" is right this guy has him tried and convicted already, with guys like him there is no justice for anybody

  • can u believe a 15 yr old guy was able to kill a US soldier despite the latter's extraordinarily advanced equipements and wht nots....with his back turned away from the soldier...wOW!! is the world blind or WHAT?!??!

  • my grandfather fought for canada in WW2 but was sikh canadian. are you proud of him?

  • He's Canadian - he deserves a trial to find out if he's guilty of the crimes he's alledged to have commited. If he is so guilty, why is he being held without charge? Finally, he was 15 years old and scared. Maybe throwing a granade after having the place you're in attacked by an air strike, is self defense. We'll never know without a trial. This is a total miscarriage of justice.

  • Poor Omar was just sitting on a bench eating a piece of roasted camel leg, when those bad US soldiers came by and shot him, and took him to Guantanamo. 'Ya right". You bleeding heart politically correct Canadians are a joke. Just because he's a Canadian born terrorist does not give him the right to special treatment. Political correctness in Canada is a cancer which eats away at common sense.

  • You forgot the word "Alleged" in your description.

  • true, but we know he confessed :=)

  • rich, it's illegal by the US army's standards to kill someone on the battlefield except in circumstances of immediate self-defence. That's why Peter's comments are immoral. We don't know what exactly this Khadr did or didn't do--UNTIL WE HAVE A TRIAL. This guy's saying let's do away with law and justice and kill at first site. That's immoral. Not complicated.

  • gav, its quite obvious what happend here, Khadr went to Afghanistan to wage Jihad! What else would he have been there for? to sell cookies?

We have too many rules of war, more terrorists need to be dead since they use western legal systems against us. You want to know what morality is? Morality is doing all that is in your power in order to save the lives of the innocent! Not the lives of our enemies! They dont care for their own lives anyway.

    let Khadr die

  • Pad, yes. "All that is in our power to save innocent lives". And that's what happened, he was apprehended and is now facing trial (sort of). Exceeding that power by killing indiscriminately or shooting first, asking questions later is immoral. BTW, teaching our soldiers to kill on site is not good for our soldiers either. It's a traumatic experience--the principles of lawful combat and ethical behaviour are good for discipline and morale. That's why Peters isn't to be taken seriously.

  • if someone was hucking grenades at you don't you think that would constitute a "circumstance of immediate self defense"?

  • as we know he confessed killing later on. The logical consequense would be that he could have been eliminated WITHOUT a trial.

  • execution is too good. let him rot for the rest of his worthless life

  • I would agree with you newrapstyle, except that. as Col. Peters puts it "A dead terrorist is dead, a living one is a liability and a cause!"

  • "including probably back home in canada"

    LMAOOOOO

  • its true midnight, fuck! Gitmo prisoners get better treatment than the best-behaved inmates in regular U.S. Prisons!

including (but not limited to) healthcare. I read about one terrorist complaining about not being able to see "Lord of The Rings" at Gitmo.

  • Gitmo prisoners get better treatment than in US prisons????? Buddy, that sounds bad...........how many US prisons have you been imprisoned in????

  • Thanks for posting this. Right on! I am totally with you: I'm proud to be Canadian when I see Fox News and morons like Ralph Peters saying such disgusting and immoral things. Keep the pro-Canada stuff coming!

  • gavrilo2007,

What specifically is immoral Mr. Peter's comment.

Omar Khadr committed murder when he killed Sgt. Speer. Mr. Peters is absolutely right, Khadr should have been killed on the battlefield. Instead the American's are feeding Khadr and caring for Khadr at the expense of the U.S. taxpayers.
