just so all u guys know. Frog fishing in northern IL is a great place to go frog fishing!!

They are mostly in that sludge and most of the time not in the open water.

@ii1Ronx yeah yeah can use spinning reels dude, just it makes it easier as you get more experienced to use a baitcaster, ive used a spinning reel up until this year for froggin.

you probably know this but bass have a instinct to bite anything that moves fast so even if you cast in the same place more than once you might get a bass.

i heard u say tht the bass would not hit again. tht is not always true as you showed. a bass might get hooked his first time so you gotta be patient. the bass will hook itself when it explodes out of the water. i use jitter bugs and hoola poppers and most of the time i do not get hooked up on the first hit i get sometimes the bass will hit you lure all the way back to the shoreline

I rarely miss a bass, I never wait, I see the boosh i set the hook, My natural delay is long enough, Then again i am using a spro popper frog witch the hook up ratio is super high, Its been my go to lure this passed year

The best way to set the hook when your topwater fishing is wait til you feel the weight of the fish,just bcuz you wait a few seconds doesnt mean the fish will have it,you have to wait and feel for the weight of the fish.
