The war is fought between the Allies and the Russian empire,the combat zone were in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Middle east and Africa.

By 2027, the war is nearly over...However, the goverment not wanting their city ocupied so they detonate a bomb in Moscow(Call of duty 4 final scene)

After this, a treaty is signed and the war has ended but with a price.

meanwhile in South America, militias causes chaos and violence in the region. Mostly Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela(Call of duty MW2 first scene).

later, in 2020, Russia and its allies are ready to attack their enemies and so WORLD WAR III HAS STARTED!(World in conflict,Call of duty 4 second half,Modern warfare 2,Black Ops third scene,Bad Company 2 second half,Bad Company second half,Endwar,HAWX and Ghost Recon)

This causes tensions to NATO,so they decide to build defences around Europe(Battlefield bad Company first half).

At the same time Russia enters the Middle eastern rebellion as a ¨3rd side¨(World in conflict Soviet assault).

meanwhile the rebellion quickly expands its violence to Egypt, Greece and central Asia so they send the Marine Corp to deal with it(Call of duty 4 first half, Call of duty Black ops first scene).

a year later,China launches a invasion to the Korean republic,

The history is like this:

even though Al-Qaeda was defeated, a new radical force emerges from the middle east causing chaos, so the Arab goverments calls the US for help so the Americans deploys its army in Arabian territory(Medal of Honor, Endwar intro). At the same time of the rebellion, a coup happens in Russia, creating ¨the new Russian republic (NRR)¨ and builds and/or ocupies some countries near Russia(Battlefield Bad Company 2 1, World in conflict except for the Frankfurt and Paris scene)
