Amazing performance but I'm curios why he shortens the "A" section by half? All of the versions with which I'm familiar the A and B sections are both 8 measures, each repeated. The "C" and "D" sections are 4 measures each (both repeated).
Words cannot describe the brilliance of this performance. Never in my life have I seen someone using the regulators in such a way. Amazing and breathtaking!!!
yes I makes B sets. materials, ebony with brass, nickel silver or real silver, mounts of boxwood or mammoth ivory.. but waiting list is very long indeed. Current worse case waiting time 26 years!
This piece I learned from Dan O'Dowd in 1979 and I changed the basic rhythm patern a little
so as to syncopate the regulator playing. Mikie heard me messing about with this piece back in the early '90's and has since made a great job of it. Brilliant!
One of my ancestors, Elizabeth Randles of Wrexham, Wales played "The Downfall of Paris" before she was two years old, at the Wrexham Theatre. She played the harp and the piano-forte. When she was four, she played for King George III along with her father, Edward Randles, Known as the "Blind Harpist." It was wonderful to hear your fantastic version of this great musical piece! You are, indeed, a master player!
OMG, ppl have been asking me why i dont learn the Uilleann, and ive been like ax, too much work, I never realnized how awsome they are! give a few years, Thank you!
just brilliant - and the regs are a brilliant distraction too - and while taste is always subjective, the response that this performance gets (in NZ anyway), is proof that it is highly entertaining.
That's the First time I've ever heard this tune played with any real Life into it !

What key are these pipes in? It sounds to me like it is either norrow bore D or C.

The best piping I've seen on ALL of YouTube! BRAVO!
For those uninititated, regulators-the pipes he's playing with his wrist across his lap, are VERY difficult to master!
