I really hate it when people label themselves "cat OWNERS". You don't OWN an animal. That implies that it is your property - that you OWN another creature's very being. You don't own anything. You don't even own your property - you are only a temporary resident. When you die, no matter how rich or poor you are, no matter if you had 10,000 acres of land, you have nothing in the end- it belongs to nature, and so does the animal, and so do you. You don't own shit. You are just an upright ape.
good advice, and thanks for the video. If you live near or in a puma conservation area, that's one thing. But I don't think we as a country should have to tolerate pumas at the back door. If that happened to me I'd call 911.
@chrisrus1965 ROFL 911? Really? 911 brings dozens of people flocking to your location (endangering them because they have no training for this) and costs you money to use (did you know that?) Call a Natural Resource Officer or whatever you call them in the U.S they're free and they'll actually know what to do besides just shooting it.
@omnimous69 As I say, I don't know if you are in a special puma conservation area, but if it were around here I'd say if the authorities want to shoot them, that's beyond fine with me. We shouldn't have to live in fear. The puma was exterpated from most of the continent for a very good reason. You may say that our ancestors were acting out of ignorance, but this is one thing I think they knew alot more about than we do: you can't live with pumas.
what luck. though it looked like the big puma was going to try to make a meal out of the fluffy morris. thank GOD for the glass pain between those two mouse hunters.
ALL large cats are endangered. There are very few of them left and very few to be able to breed without inbreeding. So anyone who says they should be shot because of overpopulation needs to read a book. A lot of very ignorant comments on here.
@HellHound217 I think they are just not in the red list, not in danger of extinction, but still dangerously low in number. should be well off the legal game list. only in Idaho.
@rawhite78 ALL big cats are endangered. Im telling you, look it up. Im in school for animal care. I did a whole research assignment on this. Yes they are.
@thatgirlcanfly1 I'm sorry your research was so shoddy. Hopefully you received an appropriate grade. The mountains lions found in the united states (except the subspecies found in Florida, which indeed is endangered) are listed as species of least concern.
Gotta love how her official title is "Cat Owner". ..... that's what she does, she ownes cats. Way up on a mountain where she can't do anything else except own cats. Why the hell wouldn't she make a freakin news report out of it? Everyone else just posts the pics or video on the net but they all have lives.
my friend had me shoot and kill a cougar that got into hes porch and ruined some garbage cans last week, cant have them anywhere near ur house, and my friend whose a conversation officer just came and took the body away
@Antithropocentric You simply do not get it. I don't know why the idea of Conservation is so hard for you to grasp. Balancing the Eco-system, thats it. Don't try and give me that usual "You can't play God", crap. You animals rights idiots are the ones who believe in preservation and let animal populations get out of hand. Kill animals to balance it, you bitch and moan. Let the animals destroy their habitat, you bitch and moan. WAKE UP.
@Hondaridr58, meanwhile, the human population grows like a runaway train and that gets called "economic growth" while it pillages the hell out of nature. I know what balance really means, and I know human hypocrisy, also.
@Hondaridr58 "Let the animals destroy their habitat" Hahahahahahahahaha. I agree that there needs to be some regulated hunting to control certain populations but you sir have proved yourself to be a dumb ass with that comment. Do you honestly believe that animal over-population is what destroys animal habitat?
@EdwardBrock Are you serious? Why don't you look into what Snow geese do to the Arctic Tundra? Or what Carp do to rivers and lakes? They absolutely are capable of destroying their own habitat, they have no sense of "tapping a resource dry". How ignorant could you possibly be? These are things that have been PROVEN. I suggest you look into things before you speak so assuredly.
@EdwardBrock Plus you completely contradicted yourself. "I agree there needs to be regulated hunting to control certain populations" and "Do you honestly believe that animal population is what destroys animal habitat?" Just what exactly do you think we need to control populations for then?
@Hondaridr58 Are you simple? Can you not grasp 2 different concepts at the same time? In the case of snow geese, yep I agree that some hunting to help control the population is acceptable. But the depletion of resources by animals is not the biggest threat that animals face. It's the rapid development of cities, town, mines, oil fields, etc. Sorry if that was difficult for you.
@EdwardBrock Theres no way that you actually believe that. Cities? Mines? Oil Fields? THAT is what ruins habitat? My God that is one unbelievably stupid statement. Please, by all means, give me a good example of what in the hell you're talking about.
@Hondaridr58 I sent you a really nice link that spells it out even for the most simple of individuals. Good luck man, I hope you don't struggle with it.
@Antithropocentric As for your "animal hater" question. I have had pets my entire life that I love(d) dearly. They have always been treated like kings and queens. Don't give me that shit. I hunt, but I do not let animals suffer. I make the kill as quick and painless as possible, because I have a heart. So fuck you.
@Hondaridr58, RE domestic pets, maybe you could explain why someone like cat-killer T. Weinman is seen as a psychopath, while "sportsmen" post YouTube videos of bigger cats (mountain lions) bleeding from from arrows and it's "morally OK" just because it's technically legal. I see NO difference in general intent.
Look up: mountain lion bow (on this site)
If the house cat in this video was shot to death there'd be outrage, but when an animal is wild it's treated like scum. Think on that awhile.
@Hondaridr58, watch a video on YouTube called "Archery Lion Kill" (OE-oSDMiDq0) which has no redeeming value. There are at least dozen others similar to it. A mountain lion gets killed on camera for entertainment. End of video.
Explain what would happen if that same "sportsman" had shot the house cat in this video with the same intent. I don't expect an honest answer, given your attitude. But maybe it will get you thinking about making reactionary comments in defense of thrill killers.
Thank you soooo much for telling folks to keep their pets indoors! It is so dangerous for them to be left outdoors to fend for themselves! They can't survive long out there! Thanks too for sharing your experience. :)
@TheAnn1948 uhhh rly i hate that! my cats and dogs are indoor out door I have a 14 year old indoor outdoor cat at one house in the city and two 6 year old indoor outdoor cats in the country. They are territorial animals they know where the food is at if they KNOW they are in danger the run back in through the dog door or under the porch. Don't trap your pet! cats werent made to sit indoors all day at least build a fenced inclosure for your cats. I don't like just indoor cars or just outdoor cats
@TheAnn1948 oh & i have had them all since they were8 weeks ^.^ the only way they get sick or diseased is if you dont give them regular checkups or get them vaccinated. My indoor outdoor cats are super healthy and affectionate. They are very cautious around strangers and they are not "food crazed" because they hunt a lot so they don't feel the need to eat out of a bowl every 5 seconds or eat something that smells good so it would be close to impossible for someone to poison them
@sovietjibus nice... but you cant even get cougar eys in red dead redemption i dont even think u get the pelt..... you only get the claws, fangs and meat.... soo way to try and be funny.. It almost worked. hahahahah
I grew up in the mountains, and we had outside cats. Our one male cat was a product of his environment, and he was the ultimate hunter. He brought back rabbits, snakes, and I even found him on the doorstep with a humming bird once. He learned to avoid the bigger meaner animals, because he was always fine. He actually lived to be 21 years old. We had foxes, racoons, bobcats, deer, elk, moose, and everything inbetween through the yard at night, and he was always fine.
