Remember how Sylvanas says "Death to the Scourge, and death to the living!" If the Lich King loses control over the Scourge there will only be death to the living. However, that's a serious problem...

This just in: The Lich King is the only thing keeping the Scourge from overwhelming the world. If he is destroyed, the Scourge will run rampant and wipe EVERYTHING out. The only way to stop this is to defeat him, then have SOMEONE else become the NEW Lich King.

The only alternative is to destroy EVERY single Scourge creature on the planet, down to the last skeleton and damned soul.

The second is actually a very viable option to me.

Actually no Arthas wasn't going to kill everyone on azeroth since arthas's remaining humanity is keeping him from unleashing the scourge on azeroth. However there is 1 option to defeat the lich king without unleashing the scourge and that is to kill the lich where he was created. Meaning killing him in the Frozen Throne will end his rule. However if donning the helm was available then i guess Arthas will be the other spirit just as Ner'zhul was the other spirit when arthas donned the helm :o

It was Kil'Jaeden who imprisoned Ner'zhul's spirit in the frozen throne. The Burning Legion isn't involved in this case so I don't think Arthas will go the same way as Ner'zhul did.

Unfortinately, the Frostmourne won't me lootable. Instead of that you may get Shadowmourne (when Cataclysm releases). It's a legendary two-handed axe. It drops from Deathwing I think.

I agree, infact Blizzard actually said before that Arthas could never be a dungeon boss in WoW since he is to powerful, but yeye they are running out of ideas maybe and have to make him a killable boss, I really dont like it imo

Rumor is that he hits for about 45k on plate consistently, that coupled with his other abilities tells me that he will be near impossible to beat in TotC gear, as most tanks have around 55k fully buffed.
