so much easier to lock the slide man.... i can do it in about 10 seconds... u dont need 3 minutes to explain a 10 second process.... this is why we have a handbook with our guns..... if you owned an xd you would know this before u fired your weapon. u gotta clean out the cosmoline and heavy oils and check the barrel and internal parts before firing anyhow. simple process being drawn out once again.

Rumor is its not a good idea to place your left hand over the barrel when removing the slide or pulling the trigger. Just a thought. No one is perfect i guess.

Why don't you lock the slide back to flip the take down lever? Hammer? The XD has a compression firing spring, no hammer. Guide rod? You mean the rod and spring assembly?
