  • Not trying to be troll, I'm nintendo fan, but you should know that the entire power of the console is focussed on that demo. So don't expect graphics like that.

  • Did Nintendo ditch ATI and go with Nvidia??

  • @dezimo its not a handheld....thats the controller

  • I seriously thought this was a sequel to Okami at first, especially when the tree started blooming. Now that would have been sweet.

  • @siriusgray you could get Okamiden on DS

  • i highly doubt that GAMES have that good of graphics. videos maybe, but not games.

  • looks like okami

  • What Nintendo failed to explain was that the controller is part of a new console. So the console, the Wii-U, has the extra processing power.

  • WOW IT CAN PLAY AN AVI FILE. REVOLUTIONARY.

  • @vismund9 It's not a video file that is directly rendered on the console, y u mad tho

  • For a second there I thought this was a preview of another Okami game or a FlOwer sequel of some kind XD

Nice imagery! Can't wait until this system comes out.

  • why so blurry, doesn't look very good

  • Monster hunter anyone?

  • @Y8es

No, the fence is there the whole time, but you can't see most of it because it is blocked by flowers.

  • This tech demo is very pretty. I like how the branches are actually made of polygons instead of flat images.

  • apparently battlefield 3 will be able to run on the wii u. If the wii u can run battlefield 3 to its full potential I wont be complaning.

  • @DarkLink2579

doesnt mean it will run battlefield 3 "to its full potential".

It will be a port, most likely with reduced graphics.

  • @sepheon not at all, the custom wii 2 made by ign could run crysis 2 at high graphics at an 1080p output, keep in mind that this custom wii2 is a computer with an heavy os runing in the background, so the actual wiiu is far more superior to this due to the optimization of the whole system and will no doubt be able to run battlefield 3 to its full potential.

    watch?v=aADc6GWf494

  • @DarkLink2579 It can run any modern game... it has better specs than the current consoles and it outputs at 1080p not a less than 720p so yeah I'd hope so

  • I think the zelda tech demo is better when showing off the lighting

  • not the best tech demo. It needed to show off more lighting and weather effects. However, the water does look very nice and how it iteracts with the fish.

  • this would've impressed me, graphics wise, 6 years ago

  • the first one was Wii then it became Wii U. what are you going to call it after wii u they?

  • @MrMuslumbaba WIID XD

  • "No me tientes satanas"

(Lo dice un Fanboy de Playstation)

  • mehhh.....look like a good PC, but its not above nowadays PC technology like a new console should

  • @waddlerobloxxxx Consoles are never more powerful than a pc.

  • I just have one complaint about this tech demo, damn draw distance, you evident. Look at the fence at 0:55, notice how it isn't there before the bird rounds the tree, and only belatedly pops in after the bird is past the tree. I know thats a low blow, but for something choreographed and not generated on the fly, that is just sloppy. Or evidences poor hardware, texture pop in is evident elsewhere in the vid, but that spot is the most obvious.

  • @y8es I don't see how it "pops in," looks like it's just obstructed by the tree branch?

  • Yup. That's a bird.

  • Is it just me but there a strange focus thing going on?

  • @alkatrash yea there are moments when the bird looses focus and stuff get blurry then its all smooth agin, maybe beacause its just a new console and not everything is finished yet...

  • @Darduel

That is an intentional lens blur to simulate the effect of our eyes depth of field focusing.

Hold a pen up and look at it really close (stuff behind gets blurry), then look behind the pen (pen gets blurry).

Sad that i have to explain that.

  • I dunno...

That water physics looks a little TOO good.

I dunno if my i5 750 and 5850 could pull that off live.

  • @YTBYlover Remember that gaming consoles are very optimised for this work - the Xbox Original had something like a 0.8ghz single core processor and 64mb of memory. It ran Halo 2. When the same game came out for Vista, it required several times those specs.

  • l thought it was a Okami game D:

  • wow, it looks almost as good as a ps2 fmv. Now that's impressive.

  • @Kitt0000 Actually it has 1080p and graphics to rival xbox and ps3!

  • Does anyone know if that was rendered in real time? I'd assume it was if they were showing it as the tech demo.

  • @kzone272 This was all generated in real-time. This is not pre-rendered. It was a tech demo showing the capabilities of the graphics processor, if I'm not mistaken.

  • There water and off time sound-to-action is all hokey, perhaps thats a nintendo thing but it def looks like they stepped up from humor to seriousness... maybe not a whole lot but there def adding the element in there.

  • not terribly impressed. Show me how well it can run, let's say Crysis or Battlefield 3 and I'll be convinced.

  • @turgore your a dumbass

  • @turgore actually, battlefield 3 WAS announced for wii u.

kinda disappointed about the console's name though.

  • If this is rendered in real time, I'm fairly impressed.

  • @0liverwarren This was dynamically rendered in real-time.

  • Wow! This was cool....5 years ago. Welcome to the party, Nintendo.

  • My PC looks better.

  • @PicklesReallySuck

Than a bird? pffff, birds are way hotter than computers.

  • So this is real time, right? If so, the wii u could definitely become a super competitive system.

  • @erreib Yeah, it was all rendered real time. It's powerful for a console.

  • @erreib Yeah. Here's the demo being played: /watch?v=I9bhS_mMjPU

  • I call shenanigans

  • I don't think this video is getting enough credit - If this is actually live rendering, once the flowers bloom, petals go everywhere, the textures are finely detailed, the branches (while pecking) have realistic physics/bounceback, and the camera can shift focus while all of this is going on.

That takes an insane amount of processing power. You might not care for the actual content of the video, but I'm impressed.

  • @KyleKingTV Nintendo has already stated that Wii U hardware is not final. So this video is not live running on the Wii U. It could be live running on one of the other consoles. Or it could be pre-rendered. Either way, not impressive.

  • @kingx101

"Nintendo has already stated that Wii U hardware is not final."

Where did they say that? I believe they've already released the system specs, in fact.

"So this video is not live running on the Wii U."

How did you come to that conclusion?

"It could be live running on one of the other consoles."

What other consoles? You mean the 360 and PS3? That's ridiculous.

    "Or it could be pre-rendered."

It was running real-time on the show floor. This is not pre-rendered.

  • The graphics aren't that good...the water barely moved.

  • @lunchboxboy I think that's a good thing - rippling is overexaggerated in most CGI. Instead, look at the difference in how the flower/fish look underwater as opposed to how they do above water. It's like impressionistic realism.

  • @lunchboxboy ponds don't have tidal waves dipshit

  • @MrShazDude Tidal Waves? wtf? Seems like I angered a Nintendo fanboy....

  • @lunchboxboy i was exaggerating, if you've ever seen a pond IRL, the water remains pretty solid with no huge movements

  • @MrShazDude And I wasn't talking about the flower. You can clearly see they made a wave for when the fish comes out of the water but none for when it's moving its fins. Just looks unrealistic.

  • @MrShazDude it is a lake so it has enough space for wind to blow in it, cerating the ripples in the water

  • MAGIKARP!

  • i saw this and was like oh God no.. not fable.. but then i was like but the music is good it cant be fable.

  • haters gonna hate

  • Looks comparable to the 250gts or 4850hd in its performance. It might have been impressive 2 years ago, but now? not so much.

  • I'm just going to assume this is the trailer for the next Okami

  • I don't get it. Is this in real time, or just a pre-rendered cinematic? If it's the latter then YAY nintendo made a video player, and if not, YAY nintendo finally sort of caught of with the competition.

  • It looks poor, really. They're talking about their upcoming console just as the wii. You know, the "possibilities are infinite with wii, the console is limitless for the developers", and what happened?. A lot of games for kids like mario, zelda and pokemon, oh, and the remake of golden eye! :), nothing really interesting or mature.

  • @madatgod3102 If you think Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and Goldeneye are just for kids, then I sympathize for your game collection.

  • @KyleKingTV Thank you!. At least I found someone older than 10 yo on youtube!

  • Oh Nintendo, you trolls. You trick Microsoft and Sony into making casual versions of their consoles, then popping out an HD version of yours.

  • for a tech demo thats surposed to show how powerful the console is and what its capable of...thats pretty poor, any developer could make that ona pc, xbox or ps3 :(

  • @zack10164 This is a handheld we're talking about

  • @dezimo this system is NOT A HANDHELD! THe console does all the processing power not the controller. it just allows you to either use the tv or the screen or both in some games. this is a BRAND NEW SYSTEM!

  • @zack10164 That's the point. The Wii and DS decided to go for low-power, affordable consoles with interesting gameplay. It well outsold the ridiculous supercomputer the PS3 was. Nintendo is demonstrating here that they're making a console with current-gen graphics, complimented by the touch, motion, and multiscreen technologies they've already perfected.

MEANWHILE, Microsoft is trying to ram the Kinect down our throats, and Sony has hardly acknowledged the data breaches they've had.

  • @eneekmot good point mate, some of the kinect games demostrated wer TERRIBLE! star wars was shamful.

  • Those graphics are outdated by this point

  • last gen graphics

  • @wr3ck This is streaming quality... Ofc it doesn't look as good as the real.

  • Damn, that's a fat bird.

  • @Hellooo06 XD

  • @Hellooo06 They were trying to appeal to American consumers.

  • @Hellooo06 its all full of rice

  • YEARS of going on and on about how "maaan we dont need graphics man its about games not graphics" and then now everyone is going to backpedal and say "holy shit it looks so good can't wait"

    retarded.

    fanboyism.

I love the list of confirmed games, just a list of games the ps3 and xbox owners are used to and expecting.

    Innovation is very powerful.

  • WTF did I just watch?

  • those japanese sure love their cherry blossoms.

  • @chickensesame well they are a historical symbol of Japan. It's the same as America waving american flags at every opportunity they get.

  • Comes with a cute bird and blooming cherry blossoms? SOLD!

  • This looks really good. Nice leap from Wii graphics. Stoked!

  • For the love of God, will someone post the demo of the controller? No one gives a shit about this.

  • @IDrinkBatUrine agreed

  • @IDrinkBatUrine Google it, there's like two videos at Engadget.

  • wtf is this shit?

  • WTF did this have to do with the new system?

  • @SuperAwsomeFunLogan It's a tech demo (To show what it's capable of graphically)

  • @HMReaper fuck the police

  • @HMReaper oh wow a prerendered cinema...speaks volumes of they system

  • @godsangelfella Ran realtime on the system.

  • @godsangelfella Every company does them... If you don't care don't watch

  • @godsangelfella This isn't prerendered, you fool.

  • @SilentOneL how do u know a-hole??

  • @godsangelfella Because you could check the demo out on the floor at E3. Also, who cares how I know? The only thing that matters is if I am right or not(which I am)

  • @SilentOneL u sir have no basis for your theoretical conclusion! that clearly is a preRendered video

  • @godsangelfella Nope, I have proof. On the floor at E3 you could move the view around. In fact I have I link to a video that showcases that. Behold: /watch?v=6OHUwDShrD4

  • @godsangelfella So basically I did have a basis, and you are an idiot. k?

  • @SilentOneL its a demo....ITS A DEMO!....its the best you could sap out of your weak pool of knowledge... how do u know that demo wasnt a cut-scene?? hmm?... that clearly looks like a cut scene to me... it didnt look anything at all like a gameplay clip. wheres the HUD display? or the other GUI's? non sir. just a bird flying with a flower in its mouth and a flower spiraling down into the pond. Oh? was that a spiraling combo you get from rotating the analog stick, i dont think so sir!

  • @godsangelfella You just replied to the wrong guy, or you are an idiot. I will say once more, watch this video all the way through. /watch?v=6OHUwDShrD4

  • @godsangelfella That's why it's called a DEMO because it's not a cut-scene! Here's a Killzone demo without a HUD: /watch?v=pfJa5C9Keqc

So, you're saying that this is pre-rendered? You're an idiot!

GUI? Graphical User Interface? What the fuck are you saying? You don't know what you're saying, do you?

Also, you can't move the camera 180 degrees if it were pre-rendered, idiot.

    What a moron...

  • @SuperAwsomeFunLogan it's a tech demo, it's supposed to show processing speed and graphics.
