I am so upset about having my views on the Referendum ignored that I suspect we no longer live in a Democracy - I will not be voting National or Labour as a result.
You waffle on in complete disregard of what the people told you to do by a crushing majority: undo the Bradford folly.
The Clark regime had absolutely *no* right to do it and you and your regime equally have no right to disobey us. You and your regime are in complete contempt of the people. In fact you are in rebellion against us. For you to lecture Fiji on a 'return to democracy' is sick indeed. You simply do not understand the most basic idea of democracy: that leaders *must* obey the people.
The referendum wasn't about repealing the law or not, it was if a smack should be considered a criminal offence. Under the current law, smacking your child lightly is allowed. The PM has been telling this people over and over again.
John, I note with concern your support of biometric scanning of ones retina...is this not now getting out of hand...the agenda behind this is to be able to track and record the suveran's movement rather than the touted improving efficiency...your govt is now breaching the privacy of all visitors as well as your own countrymen. Are you being instructed by the banking cartel??
I voted Nat, helped raise funds but I'm very disappointed by the way a VERY clear mandate is being ignored. Trying to make parents 'more comfortable' is NOT what the population wants
The people have spoken. They don't care what you think or believe John. Referendums are the truest form of democracy. Switzerland has proven that for over 130 years. It is time to make referendums binding so we can all be confident that we truly do live in a democracy and not just an elected dictatorship. Over 70% of New Zealander's believe referendums should be binding. It is time to ensure they become binding.
You're on key, JohnKey. So long as you're at the helm we'll be happy to join the Nats. By the way, what was that noise in the background. Labour shadow caucus blowing deflated air perhaps?
Hmmmm ... Retina scans to enter/leave the country now? Maybe finger-prints or DNA would have been too controversial? Who doesn't mind giving up their rights to feel safer? I guess no more terrorists will be sneaking in to Oz through NZ any more ... lol

Interesting viewing, thank you, John, but can you tell us when we can expect genuine democracy?
Seems to work for Switzerland, doesn't it?
But then they have so much to learn from us, or is it the other way around?

If a referendum is not the voice of the nation , then what is ?
And we are worried about Fiji.
