  • One of the greatest engine sounds!! and the takeoff was spectacular too! thanks for the video

  • this looks sounds exactly like the takeoff i had at lambert this morning. also landed here

  • Amazing sound

  • The spool up can seriously give you a boner!

  • how hard was it raining.

  • Damn, those 717's are nippy! I've always wanted to go one. Great video as well :)

  • Do 717s olny go that high? I thoght they whent higher.

  • I love the sound it makes!! Awesome video!!

  • wow i love the engines... Music to the ears... But... i HATE flying lol

  • The sounds of how powerful those engines sound gave me goose bumps simply awesome!! Im doing my solo at the end of july!

  • He must have done full throttle on that takeoff because Iv'e never heard a B717 sound like that?

  • alsome video and i just rated this good!

  • WOW!That SOUND!

  • Awesome Vid Man!!!!!! Im going on an Air Tran 717 later this month! CANT WAIT! I will be in row 25 on the way out and 26 on the way back, do you think that from the window seats there, I will be able to see the engine like that? Thanks :)

  • Airtran is mow a part of Southwest airlines. Will they actually use trans 717's?

  • @deetjay1 Yeah they are. Just repainting them. :)

  • is that ice on the flaps?..

  • i know the sound is from the engines but i was on a crj 900 and never heard that

  • Great Video

  • Primo. I love this video.

  • I love the sound of these engines spooling up, great vid!!!

  • I love this plane!

  • You've made my day...That is awesome!

  • @TheCozzie99 glad I could do that for you.

  • I like AirTran because it has destinations all over from little places. Were only the big airlines have all the destinations only in 3-4 cities. Their hub. Like DL, AA, CO, US, UA, and all the others wouldn't have straight flights from ex: Huntsville to Orlando Non-stop. Tho when I fly usually its on of those listed. Mostly I use AirTran for those last minute great deals!

  • @ryancbc1 lol

  • NOW THAt`s WHAT I`M TALKING ABOUT.

  • God This Video Give's Me Chills Down My Spin Jus Listen 2 it..I Flew With AirTran Twice on the 717.Love It The Rolls Royce Engine's R Awesome.

  • @ryancbc1 He'd zoom in on your mom if she wasnt so fat.

  • Excellent take off video. Love how the water on the windows give a visual indication of the speed and the condensation flying past the wing just after lift off. Great sound as well.

  • go to 1:40 to hear those BR715's spool up

  • I fly Airtran out of Sarasota on occasion and they have been pretty good so far, and I like the 717. To get to the Airtran gates you have to pass the US Air Gates, and every time I have been there - without fail - the US Air flight has been delayed or canceled due to mechanical problems. They must fly 30 year old soviet surplus jetliners or something.

  • that 717 is faster than i thought

  • man i take off 4rm atl 2 ny 2 day n i hate taking off its scary

  • I flew my first time with AirTran on a Boeing 717. First time I heard the groan of the engines, I got chills down my spine. Watching your video brings back those memories. Loved it!

  • LOVE the 717 spool up. if only flight simulator had a good soundset

  • @ajcrw I agree!

  • Awesome video. I'll be flying in a 717 this coming September when I go to Orlando.

  • Such a nice sound. Reminds me of a holidayflight I made in the early 90´s from Germany to Palma de Mallorca. I was flying with Aero Lloyd (ceased operations in 2003). They used the MD 83 and it also had this amazing sound. DC 9, MD 80-90, 717 a great jet family. I miss them here in Germany.

  • a fantastic takeoff

  • I love the sound of those engines!! I'm taking AirTran to Boston in the summer, can't wait!!

  • I'm flying from Baltimore to Aruba via Atlanta in September for my mom's wedding. But we're flying AA back home because Aruba service is only on Saturdays. lol

  • Wow, those engines scream!

  • The spool-up of those Rolls-Royce BR700s is one of the best sounds in commercial aviation, in my opinion.

    Music to my ears. =)

  • tottally agree, i got chills down my spine when i heard this vid for the first time. The ggroan really gets your adrenaline pumping.

  • @X6insane6X My favs are PW2000s, PW JT8D, RR trent 1000, GE GENX, CFM56-5A1

  • @X6insane6X its something about Rolls-Royce engines.. that's how i feel about both the RB211 and BR700. hell, even the IAE V2500s

  • what is that buzzing sound? is it the engines

  • Yes. When on a Boeing 717 aircraft on takeoff, the engines will make that loud buzzing noise

  • Yes, but surprisingly, I just flew on a 717, AirTran 998 to be exact, and that buzzing, it was not as intense as that, but I could only pick it up on camera, besides that spool up of The Rolls-Royce engines, sounds just like a normal jet.

  • I like hearing the engines go to full throttle when taking off! I love flying with airTran from KMKE to Orlando

  • This aircraft isnt old at all its probably from the 2000s they started makng 717s in 1996 and quit in 2006 and most of airtrans are from the 2000s so this plane is maybe only 5-7 years old,Great takeoff airtran just started service here in Charleston and I flew to Florida with them they are the best airline there is

  • Yea, this plane was delivered in 2002

  • @interceptorcrj Airtran almost had us take off with a back cargo door open....waiting to spool up on the deck....after a four hour delay. I think I've had better

  • @interceptorcrj

you know...after a four hour delay...a taxi to takeoff and than a realization that a cargo door was open 30 seconds before takeoff from the pilot in the plane behind us....I really don't agree.

  • I wouldn't have thought that the USA would be still using such old aircraft! Good to see though.

  • its not old you are mistaking it with the md8x series

  • @PALLEN8112 B717s are actualy the updated glass cockpit version of the MD80. Boeing 717s like the one in this video were not developed until 1996. You are thinking of the old DC9s and MD80s.

  • Nice Sound

  • awesome video! love the sound :D 5/5!

  • I love the sweet sound of two BR715's spooling up during takeoff.

  • great vid!

  • good vids, weather looked real bad.
