Ive had this for about 2 years now but now it got to the point to where i cant even run anymore cause it'll start hurting. Now i have to sit home for 2-3 months without sports :(.
i got this wen i was bout 11 or 12, im 20 now and it still hurts like fuck!!! cant kneel down cause its so sore, cant crouch down and sont even get me started on wat happens wen i hit it off something!!!
i have never had this and from 10 - 14 years old i used to workout everyday. im 6ft4 inches tall. i was a really short kid when i was in 7th grade i was only 4ft10 then in 8th grade i was the second tallest kid in the school at 5ft10. i wonder why i never had it
I had it in my right knee...i have had it for about 8 months now...it will stop hurting and be gone for a month or so and i will be doing something and fall in pain. It hurts.
I use to have this as a kid and it's not too fun. Funny thing is though a few months ago the same knee started giving out on me walking up and down the stairs. As well as a sharp pain. Now all of a sudden it's inflamed and feels exactly the way it did when I had Osgood Schlatter Disease. And the bump really never went away as I got older and I had this 17 years ago. So now I have to go see my Doc to find out what's going on. Yeay me.
this is dog shit stretching advice. i have this condition as an adult. (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) plus stretching better than this video will get u results.... but u must stop any activity that hurts until it is completely healed. rest is #1 above all.
@HaZa1396 depends on how bad it is i have it in my left knee if its really bad then about 1-2 years if really bad but the doctor said its normally 2-3 months
@HaZa1396 I believe it lasts until you are done growing the pain will lessen very much after a few months though just use pain relievers if it hurts too bad
man my legs below the knees r so fucked up i got this shit in both knees, i got shin splints in both shins, and i will never stop being athletic it is going to take more then this bullshit to stop me from enjoying sports
dude i have it too and i play football too the best thing that i do that helps a lot is to ice both after practise and as this video says stretch it like craaaaazy, even if ur in class, pull one leg under and stretch them out
I have it and im 15, but I can still play football okay. I just have to ice it up before every match and put a bandage over it. the key is to wrap bandage just under the swelling, this takes off most of the pressure
I have that disease, i suppose.. every sings are leading to that disease.. and now my mom don't wan't to take me to a doctor cause she thinks that im just hoping to get sports ban...
@Ruberduck12340 im 15 and because of it, my lacrosse playing is over which sucks because i quit all the other sports i played. hope your surgery goes well
I hate osgood schallters disease so much I had it when I was about ten i'm 13 still got it and I've been on cruches 2 once when I was 11 soft bandage 6 layer and not long a go in a cast hate I
I love freerunning and climbing but it restricts me so much rrrrrrrrrrrrrr
im 17 now and i've had it for a really long time. im a dancer and im always stretching but we do a lot of stuff in dance like rolling on your knees or falling on them and it kills me. when will it go awayyyy
Well, I've never got treated for it.. I blame my ignorance.. Weight training for the past couple of years have greatly reduced the pain, infact, its almost normal!
i got this a couple months ago after i did a three step wallflip at athletic edge and i still have pain. So will i ever be able to do anything like that again, or will i have to wait three years.
dude this disease fukin blows i have it in both knees, and one day they both when out and i was stranded in the cold rain for two hours until my friend was able to pick me up
I have been having osgood schlatter disease for over 4 Years now and the pain is still here and i can barely get up to walk from laying or sitting down but force myself up with pain, it hurts when i walk, run, basically everything and i can still feel the pain sitting also.
You guys do realize you have Osgood Schlatters for the rest of your life... When you grow older the bump might become painless but you still have it or sometimes you have the pain for the rest of your life...
@iMakeMW2Vids I Am 13 Years Old I HAve This In My Left Leg..My Left Leg Is Also My Weakest Leg And My Dad Has It Still His Has No Pain But He's Got The Lumps

@BeyondOurLimits You will be as lucky as your dad, it always goes away. It's just through puberty and your teen years while your growing. I'm around 5 foot 10 and im 13 so it's quite tall but you have the bumps like your dad for the rest of your life
i have been havn major knee problems for maybe half a year i even took a break off my sports but it didnt do anything i just recently had a tourniment and i went to swing my bat and something popped i couldnt walk and had to be carried off the field im supposed to get xrays soon and get better braces but i could end up having surgey cause its getting worse and im only 14..............sucks
i have osgood schlatters... ive had it over 1 and a half years now and im a keen skater and footballer (soccer) and the other day i was out skating, did a 180 of a curb and landed wrong so the board smashed my knee in the exact place where the pain is!! :( seriously painful!!
Agree that stretching can help, but not during the early phases where stretching pulls on the tendon and can make it worse. Stretching is vital if you want to prevent Osgood's from developing. But if you already have it you don't have to wait for a year to get rid of it, check out the new ground-breaking 'Strickland protocol' and return to your sport in an average of 3 weeks.
I have a visible lump on my top left shin bone since 3-years-ago. The pain from it isn't as bad as when it first started, but it's still an annoying discomfort when I play sports. All this started when I was playing long, intense bball. Does this means that I have this disease? I also had a lump on right knee but it disappeared and and it isn't as painful as my left knee.
@Znqt ya me 2... ive had it like for 2 months... my doctor say tht when im 18 it probably will disappear completely.. and im 13 o.o fuck osgood schlatter
@wonderboy2402 im 27 and also still suffer from these pains. A constant suffering since I was 13. I TRULY believe this "disease" is the reason my NBA dreams were smashed lol
@dkarake check out the strickland protocol video on you-tube. You can be free of pain in an average of 3 weeks. You don't have to put up with it for the next 2 years.
I had it when I was 12- or 13, I'm almost 20 now. I'm getting worried, lol.
