I would only recomend using these hooks(or any other hooks) for shrugs, deadlifts. Everything else should be done with your own hands to avoid strength degradation in your grip.
"Resistance fighters" LOL. Seems lately anything related to physical activity needs to have the tag words fighting, fighter, or ultimate. Just an observation. Whatever the case this product is genius for the end of a final set.
i dont think this is helping your forearms grow if your not pulling heavy weight with your grip..
im not trying to hate or anything im just saying that if your not gripping the weight then in what benfit does this help you build bodybparts such as forarms because forearms only grow when your literally about to give up on the weight
@muscleten Dude....last I competed I dont recall getting best in class because my forearms blew away the judges. Which is not to say my forearms were lacking. Besides, does it really make sense to limit Leg, Trap, and back growth cause your worried about losing a quarter inch on your forearms??? Do some wrist curls after your Heavy work!!!!
They look like they do what they advertise, but I wonder if it is almost TOO helpful? You would want to have your hand grip do some work, wouldn't you? I mean, in Arnold's day, they didn't have these fancy contraptions - just good old sweaty lifting and heart. Wouldn't it be better to lift and build your core the normal way (developing grip with normal progression) rather than quickly adding another 50lbs to your deadlift but neglecting your forearm and grip strength?
They do exactly what they advertise. My suggestion would be to use the strap option for the majority of your workout to maximize the grip strength and use the Hooks for the last set(s) to maximize the weights being used. For most the last rep is maxed out and the fingers, hands, and wrists will tire much sooner that the back, shoulders and arms
Good point but anybody pushing the envelope of Large muscle mass's (Legs/Back) capacity will quickly discover there's no way in hell the much smaller muscles of hands and forearms can maintain grip. That is why ARNOLD and his fellow lifters of the era used common wrist straps when the going got heavy (check it out there's numerous pics. of em dangling from his swollen arms!). Of course one would actually have to train serious to appreciate Haulin hooks virtues...
Oh forgot to mention....use natural grip for the light to pre-serious weight stuff, then hook up for the record breaking, mass growing poundages few venture to pursue....That grip won't suffer a lick...trust me
I appreciate the input, but keep in mind they didn't have the luxury of our Haulin Hooks back in the day. I am sure given the opportunity to they would have utilized them. and keep in mind one of the benifits of our product is the fact that it is a Strap as well as a hook in one product. I will be adding snipets of video showcasing Dan putting Marcus "the Comet" Haley through a back workout using our Haulin Hooks.
Well...which looks more signifigant? Versa Grips require a strong hand wrap (grip) to maintain hold. Whereas Haulin Hooks hold-ons wont let go even if you do! A distinct advantage not to mention that by using a thumbless"finger tip" Grip on Back exercises with the hooks, you'll get a wicked latt targeting effect. Try that with Versa Grips! Lastly, u actually get two products in one with Haulin Hooks, as u can opt in seconds to use more traditional strap-n-wrap attachment option.

What is the max diameter of a bar that would fit in these hooks because I'm not sure if they'll fit in my home made pull up bar. Please and thanks..
soccerstella 2 years ago
A 1/1/4" Diameter bar should fit easily, with the gripper tubes is is a bit smaller, hope that answers you question
