  • Its amazing how he bonded with Sunderland considering he spent most of his youth with Arsenal, a very like able guy.I just heard he has left Sunderland, and when they seem to be doing well. Strange

  • Lumbering first division clogger.

  • Goodbye Niall, we'll always love you for what you did here as a player and as a chairman.

  • I'm a Charlton fan (bear with me) ..but I'll never forget the header than he scored against us at wembley. was probably the most perfect placement ever! ..his second wasn't too bad either. ..always feared the big fella.. and the combination with phillips was lethal. good memories.

  • Those were the days... When we could actually fill the SOL, When we had good players and when we didn't have so many fucking injuries.

  • Very good player. Funny how averege players around him seemed to score alot of goals to hahaha. He had the ability to really keep the defender busy, making scoring chances to he's teammates.

  • I remember the last goal shown here like it was yesterday, in retrospect it doesn't look like he jumped particularly high but at the time it was leap a salmon leaping to the moon, great agility for a big man. Love you Quinny

  • @thegreatloy Shane Longs headed goal against Uraguary reminded me of Quinn.

  • absolute legend sunderland ftw

  • Quinn is a City legend and always will be :)

  • @Jordan0715 we know you love him but remember his quote-

I learned my trade at Arsenal, became a Footballer at Man City, but Sunderland got under my skin,

    I love Sunderland......

Top bloke, hugely underrated footballer, for a big guy too

  • legend FTM

  • look up niall and sean blogcast III funny

  • class player showed great control and amazing in the air, pure legend all round

  • Quinn is an absolute legend.

A shame he didn't get to win a medal in 89 when we won the league.

If ever there was a player who deserved one it's him.

Great player and a gentleman. Will always be welcomed at Arsenal.

  • what song is that, i cant find it anywhere?

  • The song is none other than... "I'm On My Way" from the musical Paint Your Wagon. Always puts an extra spring in your stride when they blast it out at the SoL after a good result. I remember on one occasion when we were shuffling out disconsolately after defeat in the 1st leg of a home and away cup tie the PA optimistically played the Lenny Kravitz retro-classic "It Ain't Over Till It's Over". A nice touch, it even gave me a diehard's hope for the 2nd leg but, you guessed it, we still went out.

  • legend !

  • if i die i want this song played at me funeral haha

  • 1:10 & 1:20 lovely :D

  • Say what you want about Quinn anybody, alright a real unorthadox centre forward for Sunderland and Rep.Ireland, but he done his job and scored the best ever Ireland goal against England at Wembley..........Cross in FROM THE BOX AND TOOK FROM THE INSIDE OF HIS LEFT FOOT SLID IT HOME....IRISH LEGEND............THE MIGHTY QUINN!

  • QUINN IS GOD!!!

  • fuck off robert ya lil dirty irish mosher

  • god.

  • Quinn's a superhuman.

  • Did he once take over as a goalkeeper during a match, because the keeper was sent off? And did he not save the penalty? Somehow I believe I've heard this once...

  • He took over against Braford 98/99 season cos Sorensen got concusion off a challenge. Don't think he had a save to make tho

  • Yes, he did as a matter of fact. It was when he played for Manchester City. The keeper got sent off and Quinn pulled off a great penalty save.

The video is on Youtube somewhere I am sure.

  • He went in goal for manchester city in a match against west ham and saved a penalty

  • No he went in for man city after the keeper got sent off.... he had already scoredin the game and man city where winning 2-1. Saved a penalty and derby were relegated
