I remember many years ago where the bridge signals in Washington state also had green in the middle but the signal heads were mounted horizontally. I suspect the two outer faces flashed red in an alternating fashion.
I always liked Crouse-Hinds signals, especially the black interval between changes; they used to have a bunch in Port Angeles. The Crouse-Hinds heads were apparently very solidly constructed, too.
That's a truly extraordinary collection you have there!
Florida had some interesting configurations back in the day.
