@umadbrahful: so being gay is sexist? Hadn't heard that one before! Intelligence wise you would 1) be able to spell properly and 2) realize gay ppl have been around exactly as long as straight ppl. But hey, don't let your homophobia get in the way of a good story!
It was not until last week that I realized I did not know who Portia de Rossi was aside from being Ellen's wife and reading about the eating disorder in the tabloids. After doing a little google research, i have am proud to say that I have found a new role model. I don't see how anyone cannot see a role model in her in someway, not just lesbians and eating disorder survivors but in how to live a healthy and happy life. She is an absolutely amazing human being.
Wow very touching and she's such a sincere person. Her main struggle was the eating disorder, while mine is dealing with my sexuality. It's hard to be happy when your family is not supporting you 100% on it.
@Dreamer7ist Yeah Portia's starting to become my idol lol I know its hard but you have to realize the 2 real components of the situation, That you have to be content with who you are as a whole regardless what anyone might think & that your family will love you no matter what simply because they are your family, even if how they treat you is not exactly unconditional. Once you try to work on accepting both of those things separately, it will be easier to be happy & you really do deserve happiness
@emmcats Yes I know I have to come in terms of doing that, but it's a hard thing dealing with. I'm very family orientated person, so I see myself as an embarrassment for the family since they're against it. But at the same time I want to live for my happiness, b/c I am indeed happy.
@Dreamer7ist I understand. I just wanted to show my support. I wish my family were more accepting. I don't wish that kind of struggle on anyone, and want those who do to know that they deserve to get past it. wish you the best!
@englishrider89 Never give up! you are beautiful and strong just the way you are. The world would not be the same without you...yes, I don't know you at all...but I went through something similar, and made it through. Even though you think you are at the very bottom, and it could never get better...IT WILL. Things will get better, I promise. Just hang in there. Then, you will realize that you don't have to "hang on" because you can be absolutely happy, with your feet firm on the ground, smiling
That's such a sad thing to go through...I'm so glad she was able to overcome that struggle. <3 She really is a very beautiful person inside and out and so is everyone in their own way. I hurt to see people going through something like this...to see them fight it and get well again makes me so happy. :-)
@sadye07 Ich habs schon vor weihnachten via amazon bestellt, es ist echt super gut, aber ich glaube nicht, dass das buch in deutschland verkauft wird.
@englishrider89 There is always a reason to live. I know that sounds cheesy but i really believe it. You are right, she gives hope. She's so beautiful, inside and outside.
Portia is soooooo beautiful. A woman worthy to be looked up to!

She's SO nice and humble. One of those individuals who you don't meet everyday. Know wonder why Ellen loves her! ;)
And she's SO hot also! ;p
