Yes, ever since sprint put out the gingerbread update, the full hdmi app no longer works. I tried rooting my phone & kept getting an error message, so I got the motorola photon which has built in mirroring for any thing & everything. The evo only mirrors the gallery.@Jbreez216

No the phone has to be rooted for the hdmi to work I have searched endless for an hdmi app on YouTube and the only one available is for rooted users

if you use this kernal Aggressive-Freedom-v0.9-SYNERG­Y_GODMODE-signed , you can get hdmi perfect with no APK needed. Although 4g does not work.

Netflix still doesn't play through the hdmi cable. All of us evo owners are still waiting for the fix on the "full hdmi for evo" app. Full mirroring should be built into the phone.

@celticirishkeith my evo does that from time to time. I might have to unplug the hdmi cable & then plug it back up or if that doesn't work then I might have to restart the phone. I can usually get it working pretty quick if not immediately.

@rocky2ish It's called "full hdmi for evo", but when sprint put out the gingerbread update, it no longer works. The app's developer told me he would have it working again soon, but it hasn't happened yet.

Sprint has put out a small update that fixed the Netflix app, but the "Full HDMI For EVO" app is still broke. The developer of the android app tells me he is working on it and that HTC would need to release some info about the software update for him to proceed. As of now, there is no sure time frame for this great feature to be restored for all the EVO users out there. :(

People, listen up! Sprint put out update to gingerbread os. This update will break the full hdmi app. It just happened on my evo 2 days ago. Also netflix no longer works. If they offer you the update, you might want to think twice before accepting!
