  • The best Rock an Roll performance by anyone, ever. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!

    Therese

  • oh to be that young again thks bruce and the band great ride r i p danny and clarence

  • Big Man!! RIP

  • As galvanizing a performer as Elvis, Jagger, Hendrix!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This made my day like only Bruce can.

  • LOVE this song/video. An early version I saw on heere, deleted Bruce introducing the band. That part in itself is worth the vidoe to see him introduce Clarence.

  • He da best aint he?

  • he is the Boss!

  • One of the greatest performances in Rock history, PERIOD !!!

  • I was in the 4th row for this show, in front of Clarence. One of the most amoazing shows I have ever seen.

  • God damn, this is amazing.

  • Yes , he knows how to party and he knows how to play good music! Thanks Bruce for that!

  • I still love how he says "I wanna be your maannnn"...

  • THOSE LUCKY BITCHES

  • this 9 minutes is more cool than my whole life

  • Give yourself time, friend!

  • my fav track ..love it still today..

  • Outstanding, this is the full version, not the crap one that Sony has posted that's cut up without the band intros.

  • this mother fucker knows how to party!

  • the dogs bollocks

  • Don't know why someone marked your comment down Gary, I'm guessing it's someone who doesn't realise "dog's bollocks" means something is good :p

  • is there a dvd of this concert?

    please let me know

  • Not that I'm aware of--maybe someone else knows of it.

  • @estreetband91 In 1994 there was a VHS tape released of this concert. However, due to the lower VHS quality footage, it didn't sell as well as it could have if it had higher quality, and wasn't transferred to DVD. There is hardly any footage from this show on the internet, sadly, only Badlands, The Promised Land, Born To Run, Roaslita (Come Out Tonight), and one more song I can't think of the name of. I used to have a copy myself, but I naively sold it in 2004. :-(

  • Every member of this band is playing like they are one of Bruce's internal organs. Every member of the audience is playing like they are in the band. Bruce is playing like he's The Boss!!!!!!!!

  • he is the boss

  • arguably the greatest version of undoubtedly the greatest song ever written

  • it doesn't get any better than this.

  • love the boss and the big man together they make me laugh so much fantastic performance

  • Simply put..One of the greatest rock n roll songs of all time. One of the greatest, if not the greatest, rock performances of all time captured on film. Thanks for posting this iconic performance..ROCK ON

  • I was there!!!! Was 14 y.o.and one of my first concerts. Been a Bruce fan ever since.

  • The best performance of this song.

Wish I was there! I'm from Phoenix but unfortunately wasn't alive them. Damn!

  • i love all the positive comments. theres no way on earth to talk shit about the boss. brrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce!!!

  • Would someone kindly tell me if the whole concert is available somewhere, i havent found it through he normal retailers. ps saw bruce at hyde park, when he played this i was so happy dancing from side to side at one point a tear roll down my face!

  • Around 6:30 when he says "I wanna be your maaaan"

He was and still is the sexiest man on the planet!

  • this is 'jizz in my pants' stuff.

  • God created Men.

    Men created Rock n' Roll.

Rock n' Roll created Bruce Springsteen

    LONG LIVE THE BOSS...

    greetings from Argentina

  • Bruce Springsteen Created a reason to live and love!

  • He's so fucking cool.

  • I absolutely ADORE this performance.

  • The greatest showman on Earth. Long live The Boss.

  • This was a dream. Had't thought about this in some time. Was there with my sister and girlfriends in the second row in front of the Big Man . What a treat!!!!

  • This is just so great. So very, very great. The greatest rock n' roll that has ever been, Bruce Springsteen on the Darkness tour in 78, and the River tour in 1980, and the Born in the USA Tour in 84-85, and the Reunion Tour in 2002-2003, and the Magic tour in 2007-08. I haven't seen a show on the current tour yet, but it'll be stunning, as well.

Thank god for Bruce Springsteen. He is not merely an American treasure, as I read recently. He's a human treasure, a world treasure.

  • @ernie19081975 This is so cool! I'm glad I found this video on here! My cousin worked as a bodyguard for Bruce until the mid 80's! You can see him in this video at 8:45 pulling girls off of Bruce! He then runs off stage behind Bruce! When he left the Boss in the 80's to settle down and get married, Bruce surprised him (after giving him a VERY large check as wedding present!) by showing up and PLAYING at his wedding! SO COOL! This has to be one of the BEST bands ever! RIP Clarence and Danny!

  • I remember coming home from the pub a little worse for wear and watching that. Blew me away. went out next day and bought all his albums. Still playing 'em!!

  • Yes I remember seeing it on MTV as well... specially late night... me being 8 or 9 years old at the time, this performance changed my life man... it helped make me a music fan to this day. Seeing this performance just shows how special some artists are.

  • BRUUUUUCCE!!!!!

  • BRU-U-UCE ! ! !

  • been so long since I've seen this, still so fucking great. must be the best clip of Springsteen out there...

  • 8:35...Bruce is getting it. What a dream.

  • Keeping it rich. Keep Houston Rich.

  • This is amazing. This tour ranks among the Rolling Stones 1972-1973 tour, the Who's 1969 tour, the Jerry Lee lEwis 1964 shows, the Bob Dylan 1966 tour, and the 1967-1970 Jimi Hendrix shows.

  • Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band's 1978 Darkness tour ranks up there with Pink Floyd's 1977 Animals and 1980 Wall tours, The Who's 1975 US tour, The Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street 1972-73 tour, Genesis' 1980 Duke tour and Styx's Paradise Theater as the best rock tours in rock history. This version of Rosalita is still the best. Kinda pissed me off that they edited the band intros from other versions.

  • Important Numerology to be considered for this classic video:

    The Number is Eight (8).

8 is the number of women that The Boss had to beat off of him with a stick!!!

The Moral: For Bruce -- Eight Is Enough!

  • The correct date for this one is July 8, 1978, as several Bruce databases confirm. This is from the BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test, Vol.I, which shows the wrong year at the beginning. It is the only full version around, with the band intros.

  • Thanks for the date clarification. I amended the description to reflect the right date.

  • I remember MTV used to play this version, back in the early- and mid-80s, but for some reason, after Bruce released his live album, they stopped showing the version with the band intros. But, boy, what a great, joyous testament to Springstreen's magic.

  • I't is a realy great song! :-D

  • I've been looking for the full version of this (with the band introductions) for ages. Thanks! :)

  • I can't believe how great that clip still is, all these years later. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Me Too! I haven't seen the full version since the early 80s when it was on MTV

    Thanks a bunch!

  • It's what dreams are made of !

  • メンバー紹介が、入ったフルのやつ捜してたんで、どうもです。

  • I'd have given all my worldly possessions to have been there. Still the best!

  • Wauw, great :D
