@TechnicolorU2 Yup simply it goes from A to Z so starting with the Hiragana and Katakana then moving up to kanji, how to make sentences and how to write them down in both hiragana/katakana/kanji
@izzythekitty1 yeah sorry about this that's because i search for my words a bit since i'm french native :D thanks for having take the time to watch my video, Peace, Ken ^-^ v
For the most part...this game is good at teaching words and Kanji..but as far as grammar goes, i think it sucks...simply becuase they do not really explain anything. I was really turned off by the charts they gave you for Ru verbs and U verbs which basically showed the verbs in their many forms but they NEVER explained how to change the verbs or why you change them...If you want to try it..you should invest in buying it BUT TAKE A CLASS if you can...you will be less confused..
As a third year student of Japanese...I dont feel this game is really effective for beginners. Firstly, they move way too fast....introducing forms in Japanese without fully explaining WHY and HOW they are that way...It was easy for me to just breeze through the game and get to the third level of lessons...but it will not be the same way for someone who is just beginning. I actually believe this game is not that good to be a single learning source for beginners..
Well if you can't get it localy i would suggest to buy it online like ebay or amazon (tho it's going to cost you a little more due to shipping fees and customs etc.) hope this answer you question :)
If you really want to learn japanese and do practice in the real world, than you´re able to learn the moste things about the language, especially Kana and Kanji^^
With this game, it´s damn easy to leran if you want, so keep up learning and someday (if all lessons are finished XD) you can go to japan and talk with some people :)
Hello well not really i say you need more then 1 media to become fluent and become fluent involve learning vocabulary, verbs etc whitch this game can teach you a basic about but to get fluent you'll need to practice with some native speakers and read tons of material like newspaper, japanese websites, manga , whatch anime etc. Just consider this game as a good add on to your learning ^-^ v hope it answer you question :)
Not exactly. Certainly, one game can't have ALL the words and methods. BTW,if you need help, talk to me. I'm not exactly fluent, but I know a great value. ^/////^
Desu is put at the end of a sentence to add that you are positive or sure about something like Watashi wo name Maciej desu, would mean My name is Maciej, but the desu is added as a way of showing assurance, also politeness.
i have this game & i think it's good :D but when u've finished all lessons, will it rly help u to for example talk with japanese someday or speak the language at least a bit fluently??^^
I don't think so - japanese is a very hard language and I've read 1 or 2 reviews that says it's not even close but I still think it's a great addition
why ask then? but it's sure NOT impossible to learn - I think it's like learning 3 languages at the same time xP
and yea it got the kanji's from china so it's actually like learning a bit of chinese as well ;)
and it takes time learning arabic, grece and russia too - I think it's like those languages but u still try - but I only wanna learn spanish and japanese (and english but I do that automatically as many movies are english)
coz i wanted to know if learning through this game makes any sense since i don't have another opportunity to learn the language..well, not right now :S
yea ur right..hmm i think the grammar is actually not that hard..but reading and learning all the kanji and things like that..well, at least for me :S i dunno if there are ppl who are fast in learning kanji x) yes, it's like learning one of those 3 languages...^^
um..how do u learn japanese if i may ask? with this game??
schools, college, courses, transfer-students, travel to japan, watch animé from animé you can learn 30 words easy only by noticing the eng sub and words - kawaii, itadakimasu - (before you eat), nandayo? - (what is it?),wakkateryo - (I know) onee-chan (sis, bro), dangan raina - missile I think xD watch movies, watch openings and endings - those are awesom - if they got both eng sub, jap sub, and jap sub literally "dangan raina" fro example 4th naruto opening. sadly I know little japanese xD
this looks awsome i really want to learn japanese because i like anime and i wana play import games but i dont have a ds i just mite buy a ds just for this game
Great :D Japanese is really a facinating laguage to learn, tho if you plan to play only this game that might make the investement for it a bit high (still there's a lot of good old SNES rpgs and you can play Japanese DS import games so yeah in fact a DS can be a good choice :D Thanks for comment, Peace, Ken ^-^ v
It really is a good game. i'm taking formal classes this fall and i couldn't wait to learn so i bought it. it's given me a jump start at learning. but it doesn't take the place of conversation which is really important. :D
100% agreeing with you on this :D skyping with some japanese friend or a good old teacher is really the best way, as i said many time this is definatly a ++ to have especialy if your visual type of learner since it's more interactive then the plain and boring text books. Thanks for the comment! Peace, Ken ^-^ v
Hello :) first thanks for watching :D Now as of reading in fact you will learn the Hiragana and katakana then lot's of kanji with this game but personaly i've learn them (hira/kata) with some basic flashcards to learn them but yeah you can learn them in this game. As i said many times, this game is really nice add on to any other learning tool you have already but nothing's better then learning the way you feel the more confortable with so this game might or not suite your learning style ^-^ v
Again i think the best way to learn is to open your horizon to any possible ways to learn and pick what suites you best :D Once you learn the basic out of this game (alphabet/kanji) then it's be easier to for example watch some jap subbed anime or read some manga to practice your learning skill out as you know it's more fun once you've learn the basic of creating sentences. Again for 30$ It's cheap for all it provide to my own personal opinion. Hope it help! Peace, Ken ^-^ v
Ive been wanting to learn Japanese since i was little and i want to buy the game but i have to know does it really teach u japanese (i wrote this a the begging of the vid so sorry if u awnser my question later in the vid)
well personaly i'm sure that understand that "Learning" japanese is not just a one step task so i would say that everyone learn diffrently and at a diffrent pace so as you would see on part 3 comment i think, it seems to be controversal on that matter. Again I do think that somehow you need to learn the basics (on considering you can learn Hiragana/katkana/Tons of vocabulary, verbs, kanji etc. I think that for 30$ that's a most( that's only my opinion)
Also as you will see later one there is lot's of little game to help you learn and kinda make it less boring then just a plain textbook and more interactive kinda:D Again what is 30$ when that's what it cost for 1 or 2 private teaching lesson. Again i recommand both private lessons and/or learning while practicing with some japanese friends and if lucky, total immersion going to japan for a trip or an exchange student program, add to this, this little tool could not do any bad imo at least
Yeah and one last thing, This is a "learning" tool/game wathever you want to call it but still your the one that need to put effort in it as it wont teach you japanese by just playing with it around, you got to memorize new words then practice them until you feel confortable with them(and you do that by playing the small games that basicaly use visual/photographic memory type) or you can listen to words by clicking on them(if you are more of a Listener learning type.
actually ive already started a little learning basic stuff like numbers colors body parts ect. but its hard to find time with school homework stuff so i figure a ds could help because i can carry it around and play/learn when im walking home or have other spar time
also im just kinda wondering like did it help u learn japanese and do u think its a reliable source (and do u actually learn stuff)
No prob :D thanks for viewing and commenting and subscribing, i'll try to do more Japanese related video in the future but as you'll see, i have 2 major topic on this chanel, one is Japan and related stuff the other oen is on Bipolar as i'm myself bipolar and it's one of the reason i havent study in a while (moving from one thing to another du to mood swings so it's hard to focus on only 1 thing lol) anyway Thanks for the sub :D
Yeah i would most definatly suggest it to you as a great learning tool, see you can learn at your own pace and as you said since it's on the DS it can be caried to study anywhere whitch is also a+. Personaly i put myself some goal like 1 lesson per day (1 lesson is from 5 to 10 words) then i play them until i've learn them and i was doing that daily starting by getting back on those i alreay have learn then take an additional lesson, but i have not move really further since that review.
Hey there dude:) well i would say that i got some basic skill (knowing all the Hiragana and katakana and i've learned about 100 kanji but that was like over a 4 years learning so it's not totaly fresh in my head:) but at the moment i'm studying on a regular basis luckily cuz of this game :) If you need help and would like to practice, just let me know, it would be a pleasure to help :) take care buddy! then i wonder, what and when does WA means and DESU, i know you use it very offen but what does it stands for, and how do you know when too use it?
Shinku0405 2 years ago
WA is a particle, like our "Is, Are", etc
And DESU is most similar to the English verb "To Be".
I'm still a little confused on when they are used myself, mainly particles.
But from what I've seen about Particles a lot of people have trouble with them, so I imagine they'd come to you from studying over time.
