  • no primer?

  • 240p.....we meet again...

  • Never cut towards yourself you fool.

  • what scale is easier or more fun 1/100 or 1/144

  • super sexy lol

  • @frow55 what do you suggest is a good gundam model for a beginner

  • hey Im new and interested in gundam model kits.. what do you think I should start with? omg there are so many tools especially the painting tools

  • where do u get those

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • i thought astray has two swords, like the MG one

  • OH THE PAIN IS COMING BACK i made this stuff and wow memories of pain this gundam parts where so hard to get out i got cut every time i wanted to do it perfectly >_<

  • do you need to paint or glue? or i can make them with only a knife and the kit?

  • isn't the handle of the gerbera straight supposd to be black?..cuz i've seen the pg and the mg and they have black handles..does it have chromed blades?

  • i have only made one gundam in my whole life and that was when i was 13 i would like to start again where can i find them online and the markers too??

  • where can u get the gundam markers

  • where do you get the gundam models

  • people who live in the us in jersey or new york tell is there a store for gundam

  • @TheTACOBOYZ1 Midtown Comics in Manhattan

  • @TheTACOBOYZ1 There are shops online. If you are looking for stores, they aren't really named like Gundam Store or anything, with a huge stock, probably just a small shop inside a mall or something, with limited stock.

  • @TheTACOBOYZ1 midway comics, bro

  • @TheTACOBOYZ1 yes there is its in new yorks chinatown there is a underground shopping mall that specifically sells gundam

  • where did u get the gundam marker??

  • So what are gundum they look interesting and I don't know what they are

  • Wha!!! Gundam markers!! That's what I need!! Where can I get gundam markers?

  • @Thappreluck07 Online, or an at a hobby store. They're really expensive though.

You can actually get paint markers, (not Gundam, like it matters), at Wal-Mart.

FYI though, outside of minor details, painting with markers make the model look like shit. Learn to spray.

  • Sweet u like A7x too? this is is almost easy right?

  • where can i get plastic nippers

  • very basic, beginner way of putting together a gunpla model

  • o man... i built mine wrong

  • when you cut off one of the pieces with nippers and then see the remaining plastic what will happen if you don't cut it off?

  • Wow didnt know you could use gundam markers to 'paint' all the details in.

  • Just to give you a little tip for excess plastic is that your better off using a nail file or sandpaper, its more effective

  • gotta love the Annie May Music Montage

  • 5:30 was that a Gundam Marker?

  • Is there any store that I can buy these at?

  • yeah my first build was brutal i cut my finger lol it is awesome took me all day but my astray red frame 1/100 is complete i still need to detail like panel line and stickers and then the katana but i still got the blue frame 1/100 to build too, im waiting for the bandai nippers i ordered from hong kong on ebay to build the blue frame because using scissors isnt great

  • i remember as a kid i used the build these..

    were do you buy these?

  • a7x awesome

  • any glue

  • I am starting to get into gundam modeling and was wondering... when painting full out would one use normal modeling paint or are there special paints kinda like the marker you used. also does one have to put on a primer layer before painting? Thanks fot the video!

  • *soon

  • I'm Going to make this my new hobby seen but what did u use for gold paint or sharpie?

  • See now i prefer the models where its assembled already and all but from the looks of it these build um yourself models are quite good. you need a bit of time though to assemble them and everything don't ya

  • Well, that's one way to build and paint them. I cut, glue, sand, fill seams, primer by airbrush, and paint. Over all great review. I'd like to buy the 1/160 version but I really don't need it. I have a few musha to build and paint.

  • i used a nail file to get rid of the extra plastic which I know is wrong but I don't my equipment and stuff yet

  • cool gundam

  • wow thanks for the video, I learned a lot

  • Im actually looking to get a PG Red Frame.

  • where do you buy kits from and where would you get the markers?

  • Plain Jane and Sexy Lexy.

  • use to build when i was young and i stopped i'm thinking of doing it again.

  • @nintendofanboy10009 u should do it agian

  • Ive never seen this anime. Ive only seen Evangelion and I have Eva 02 HG model kit and its cool I love asuka and her Eva. My point is that all anime model kits look fun to build!

  • what is the exact name of the mini plier thing? lmk please im getting my first gundam.

  • My first Gunpla actually!! The MBFPO2!!

  • scrap booking markers work just as well (their the same thing)

    and a lot cheaper

  • @sonikdude49 do Sharpie work well

  • @wingzerorocks no it rubs off

  • hey can we use penknife?(to cut the pieces)

  • theoretically yes

but that'll leave some stressmarks around the point connecting the parts to the tree, which doesn't look too good

  • Hi. One question, so how do I cut pieces form the tree without leaving those pesky stressmarks? I use nippers but they always still leave some marks.

  • just try to cut off as much of the runner as possible when cutting the pieces

and shave them off slowly afterwards

  • Im not frow55 but u should use a sharp nipper and cut the piece with the very top of ur nipper then use excto knife if necessary and use gundam marker for tat color

  • Thanks. When you say the top of the nipper you mean the tip of the cutting part right?

  • Yep Good Luck

  • will a felt tip pen work in place of a gundam marker ?

  • Ive found that if it leaves a mark between the panel lines, it rocks. I had a fine fine fine grade sharpie but it was permanent ink so one must be CAREFUL and you cant wipe off the excess.

  • ahh so,

if i was to use felt tip pens just to detail some parts, e.g. the panel lines, it would be fine as long as i dont make any mistakes ?

  • Sharpie can come up using rubbing alcohol, but it can also washout you panel line, so be careful

  • AH! I'm just getting into this hobby and seeing you build your gundam was amazing <3 You did an awesome job, buddy :D

  • i have the smartest way to cut of those mark things, just cut it off with a nail clipper :D

  • a nipper is that like a chinese nipple

  • My dad just got back from taichung taiwan and he went to sogo and got me 2 gundam models :D now i have 3

  • i hate when i biuld the models i don't have the right colors like i have buy the paint and crap

  • Ok im thinking of starting gundam models. I have a few questions.

    1. In this video would you bother painting any main bits like the white parts etc.

    2. Is it better to use a gundam marker than say hobby paints.

  • Depends on wheater you are going to go to the extent of sanding, puttying, and filling the joint lines. paint covers up the putty and creates a clean look. If you are not going to the extra above trouble, most molded white plastic is fine.

When it comes to Gundam markers vs. paint, it again comes down to how much time you are willing (or have) to invest in building the kit. I prefer to the main colors and what details I can.

Good luck and have fun building!

  • If you want to do an all out paint job such as completely paint it different then yes you should color the main parts but if you just want to add small paint details that the model is missing then no its ok to leave the white parts.

This is my philosophy on gundam markers: if you want to add small details or paint small areas then gundam markers are ok but hand painting to me is overall the better choice.

You know what.....im going to make a video to further answer your question.

  • Yeah cause i do Tamiya 1/20 scale F1 models and they are how should we say prepainted but spray painting it in the actual colour enhances it. So i was wondering if the same effect happens in gundam kits.

  • @patav2

i would recommend using model paint and a micron gundam pen paint every part (even the white)

make sure its smooth and give it time to dry cause you dont want any figure prints on it and use micron any were you think it would look good and gundam paint markers are mainly used for for touch ups and scratches it might take a lot of time but you will be happier in the long run at how good it looks

and start small with 1/144 scales first

  • that's what i hate when using gundam markers.. when some inks leak and you wont be able to erase them because the lining is somewhat deep to be able to rubb off.

  • An alternative to using Gundam Markers is to use Pigma Micron markers. They can be found at art stores (like Michael's). They are available in many widths, styles, sizes and colors.

The pigma Micron markers wipe off unpainted plastic surfaces easily (soon after application) and can be removed from painted surfaces easily with an ordinary pencil eraser with no problem.

Cost wise they are 3-4 dollars per and last a long time depending on how hard you push with them.

    Keep building and have fun

  • thnks man.. but i dont know any other hobby shop here in mississauga canada.. gundam markers are the only possible choice i have.. but incase i came across with thos pigma micron imma try those.. thnx again..

  • 1:59 whats the black knifes name?

  • its easy

  • do u need glue

  • dunno if you found out yet but nope, no glue with these models, and they're truly fully posable

  • nope.. every gundam models are snap and clip ons...

  • All the modern kits are snap together.

Older-style kits requiring glue can still be found in the marketplace and require a litte more time and patience to complete.

I would recommend the snap together kits for beginners and people who do not want to have to paint their kits to make them look like the cover art.

  • can u do the shaving video

  • wat scale is that

  • 1/100

  • Comment removed

  • what was the knife name again cause im gonna find it

  • my gunpla is gunna be bout the strike freedom full burst mode

  • "cocky shit"

Who? Me? No I mean it, the model look's really nice.

  • That IS super sexy!

  • nice vid! about the gundam pens, is there a cheaper alternative to em, dont really wanna pay $14.99 for a pack

  • I love these, they are my favorite types of gundam toys, best for collections

  • where do u get the gundam markers i m frm singapore

  • Internet.

  • Would any ultra fine point pen be fine to use when panel lining? Like a sharpie ultra fine point pen for instance.

  • thanks for the tip on how to do the lines on the sword sheath, works ok with mine.

  • its easy i made a master grade when i was like 6

  • Hey, i just started making these model kits and i'm glad he made it. It certainly helped me and probably helped others as well. :P

  • cocky shit

  • why not use black than grey? stands out even more xP

  • Shows you know nothing do you realise how hard it is to paint these and make them look AWESOME google some videos and you will change you're perspective

  • japanese benny hill?

    lol

invoke and idk the other one-

  • I hered the sound tracks that you put gundam seed theme, and a song from need for speed!

but very good teaching the watchers.

  • honestly how could you be lazy to mask that? It isn't that hard to mask the piece you're working on. I always mask my models.

  • Honestly, I didnt feel I needed to mask it if I had other ways around it(smart people know when to be lazy) lol.

  • Well when I feel lazy I use the Mr. Masking Sol Kai. It is cheap and comes in a decent size bottle. All you do is just brush the area you want the masking to be with the fluid and let it dry and paint. Then when you're done you get a knife or finger and scrape a side and pull it off. It is a whole lot easier than cuting and measuring your tape. It is like putting latex as your tape. One negative effect is it smells kind of bad. $ 4.10 is the cost at HLJ. Does that sound too bad?

  • I heard of that stuff before, never bought it because I can never find it besides on the internet(hobbywave)....I might check it out lol.

  • It should solve all your problems ;)

  • should i still put in the detailing on a 1/144 scale?

  • uh yeah!!!!

  • Im goin to get another freedom model but master grade and i need help so could u give me good places to get the tools u get

  • sexy Betsy!

  • That's not an MG, that's an 1/100 Scale Gundam Model. They're Great, but MGs are better.

  • wat markers can u use if u dont hav Gundam markers?

  • You can find other brands of paint markers at most any craft or hobby store. Alternatively, you could use acrylic paint for detailing. With that, you use a fine tipped paint brush, then carefully wipe any excess off with a cotton swab when it dries.

  • Lol. Why would you use gundam markers??

  • MG of that is hard cor

  • r the instructions in Japanese?

  • yea but its real easy like abc 123 directions a 10 year old could do it

  • which i did :) (10 years old)

  • yes they are.

  • is it hard building gundam?

  • FLIPPPIN easy lol if u have motivation in finishing it xD

  • dude did you use your webcam?

  • wht if u don't have a gundam marker can u use some other marker ?

  • can you send me the name of that gundam?

i know you say it but im a little lazy haha

  • Hey, does anyone know of a Gundam that take FOREVER to build? I really need something to do in the Summer time.

  • well you could try to find some 30th anniversirary giant ones that you have to build. i saw them in japan but they were already made so you try to look up some of those.

  • a perfect grade

  • i need to see this because im getting my first mg and it cost me 52 dollars so i dont wanna screw it up

  • can i get gundam models in britain or would i have to go to america/japan?

    (or even use the internet)

  • try internet google gundam model kits

  • you can buy them online, but chances are there is a hobby store near your area where you can buy them.

  • can be a simple modelshop that sell models...such as warhammer?

  • internet, just search gundam models

  • where u get them and is any gundam marker ok or does it have to be specific

because im thinkin of gettin one in edmonton or vancouver

  • actually if u live in vancouve ror u goin there go to richmond or burnaby if uw ant to the models they're like 14 maybe more for the models and thSD's they're like 6-8 dollars

  • what Gundam Marker set did you get that detailing line pen out of?

  • are all gundam markers erasable?

  • how did u get your gold so shiny? my gold gundam marker turns brown after i paint the part

  • are there any markers in the US that you can use if you cant get gundam markers to paint? Iv heard sharpies work for color and their fine point pens work to. Is this true?

  • What is the song when you paint the tip with the red gundam marker? thank you.

  • Its called invoke by TM Revolution.

  • TM Revolution FTW

  • Sweet thanks frow55 and great reviews by the way! This video was also really helpful for my detailing!

  • I thought you needed glue to put gundam models together...

  • not all of them, this guy is building a Master Grade Gundam, so instead of glue, he might use screws (some provide screws to tighten, becuase its better)

  • Only the ones made in about the 1980-90s.

  • You fail as a commenter.

  • Excellent video about How I Build My Model Kits/Gundam and i know you didnt cheat (hehehe)

but by the way GREAT Video and good job of build the Gundam astray red frame. XD

  • Thanks for the tips

  • did you colour your sword with a gold gundam marker

  • There is sale witha kit of file, cutters and soemthing else are for making gundam model. Try to find it,it helps

  • For the rgular Gundam markers, how do you get them to work? Are you supposed to break the tip?

  • i see he uses a knife to cut off the extra parts from the trees

i recommend using finger nail clippers, and i use wire cutters

so i cut with the wire cutters, and take off the extra with nail clippers

  • is there any other way to take the extra gate material off because sometimes i cut off too much using the knife?

  • i use finger nail clippers and it works for me

  • where do you buy your gundam models?

  • Hobby store, Look around Chinatown also, Japantown if you have one in your city.

  • and if u know in china town the store that has them for sure and ill try to be specific is 99 ranch its a place with 2 tigers in the sides and check for a store with toys in it kinda close to the phone company

  • Whoa I didn't know 99 ranch had it rofl are you talking about San Francisco? If so by Daly City right?

  • woah no the 1 in downtown seattle

  • Oh lol nevermind thenn Well the 99 ranch in my city don't carry models lol

  • cool, is there anywhere else I can buy gundam markers?

  • hi five:) i also got this gundam but my sword broke :(

  • I tried using a sharpie on my gundam, and the it just wasn't working, I was trying to use pink, and it looked orange.

  • does the panel lining dry after awhile,or can it be rubbed off no matter how long its been on there?

  • In 5:02 do u have tips on how to detail with a shaky hand, cuz my hand shakes when I detail/panel line....
