The faster they go, the more brutal the tempo becomes, creating an awesome riff. Vocal talent comes from people like Rob Halford, Jeff Tate and Bruce Dickinson. They don't sing fast at all. They are melodic and beautiful. But how is a Death Metal drummer defined by his talent? Speed and stamina, of course. It does matter.

Take some time to listen to style of bands like Slayer, Skeletonwitch, Absu, Obituary, Vital Remains or, above all, Nile and Cryptopsy. Snare Blasts, Blast Beats, Double Bass and Drum Roles that go barreling like thunder all across the kit. Sounds like Thrash/Death Metal to me. Those bands wouldn't be themselves without those techniques.

If I recall, Tim's world record 1407bpm run was on an acoustic bass drum with axis pedals at a WFD in 2004. Electronic or no, Tim is an amazing player and has really set the bar for what is humanly possible for us all. Keep it up man.

Also im doubting thats faster than 250 bpm, probly not even that fast probly around 200 210. iv herd faster on Nile and Origin songs. my point being that he DOES NOT in fact have the fastest feet. Dude, I'm a drummer and I was just playing doubles on a practice pad at 100bpm - there's no WAY Tim is lying about the speed - get a metronome and see it for yourself. Match the tempo - also both Goerge and Derek have used triggers on Nile records - even if Goerge has used his actual bass drums recently - he still triggers - which means that Tim, if he uses triggers can play way faster than both of them. NOBODY gets their bass drum heard live over 220ish...
