The grafics won't be too realistic as though you had a HDTV. The details aren't too sharp and there are a lot of flickering because you've been using AV cable in 480i display setup as well as you must play 80% of the games in letterboxing (black strip above and below the screen)

@GTAFAN360TOSTADORA1 No it can't although you can set your ps3 up to 16x9 aspect ratio, but it'll still be 480i. HD screen are resolution up to 720p, which is possible by using component av cable or HDMI cable.

You can still play game consoles on smaller TVs. I used to have a 20" Haier which was a CRT and i remember playing Project Gotham 3 on it. I gave the TV away a year ago because it had problems.

Never used my PS3 on a CRT TV. I already had a 360 so waited till I got a HD TV. Then I could justify (to myself) the cost as it would include a bluray player.
