  • Where can i watch/buy this in a better quality?

  • 2:55 wtf is johnny doing to that string!!!!!

  • @PlanetAirsoftPlym making sweet love to it to produce that eerie sound

  • @PowerRedBull You are absolutely tonedeaf if you are saying he doesnt hit the right notes. If you have no ear for music or do not know much about, then please dont make ignorant statements like these, because your just annoying people and wasting peoples time. Like me for example.

  • If don't like this you don't like music FULLSTOP.

  • some nice drumwork at 3:31

  • anyone know a link to watch the whole of this set? would be much appriciated. :) and i would actually love you forever.

    Amazing band. Amazing song. Breathtaking.

  • go on Phil

  • outstanding drumming creativity

  • Las palmas nooooo, no entendieron nada hijos de puta, no hagan palmas

  • Um, 13 years ago. Hello. Paging Mr. Dumass

  • @hopcolyte

I do not see what saying "13 years ago" has to do with what i said in my previous comment

I said his pitch is ..well..not great. You mean it's great now? I'm a bit lost here

  • @PowerRedBull Are you really criticizing Thom Yorke's voice? Thom fucking Yorke? He is one of the greatest, if not the greatest force in music in current time, and one of the most respected of all time. His voice is unique and the open-minded listeners can easily take it in, not to mention his voice is gorgeous. So get off your high horse, because really, what gives you the right to criticize such a brilliant performer?

  • @justinorville

And yet again, it is not his *voice* which I think has flawns, but the ablity to *pitch* his voice exacty to the right notes. That means *hitting a note*. This has absolutely nothing to do with any of things you have mentioned, such as being a force in the music, the sound of his voice or anything else. Ask any Voice teacher/pro and they will agree. Even one's fav. singer can have flawns..no one is perfect...although love can make blind for flawns

  • @PowerRedBull Sorry man, but again you make no valid arguments. Thom Yorke has received numerous awards and honors for his voice, including appearing on numerous lists of greatests vocalists of all time (ex. Rolling Stone's list). I'm just saying why bother criticizing the acts and music that is beautiful today when you could be criticizing the shit on the radio and in the top ten. It's just time wasted. You should be grateful for Radiohead's music, because it keeps great music alive.

  • @justinorville

About those lists: those lists are based on audiences' perception and highly are influenced by other things (for example: People will rate a bands' guitarist higher on a "good guitarist" list if they just like their songs - which has little to do with the guitarist, but but because people love the music, they have a hard time to see the difference between the actual skill of the guitarist and the music that they love. They are just 2 different things

  • @PowerRedBull I'm sorry man but PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I'M SAYING. I'm talking about the list that hundreds of music critics compile together from famous magazines like Rolling Stone, and decide together, legends of music help make these lists, it's not a question whether Thom has an amazing voice or not, sometimes, like everybody it's a little off, but in general, it is unique and awe-inspiring. Check out performances of "Reckoner" live, or "Fake Plastic Trees", or "True Love Waits"

  • @justinorville

ok I'm glad you now finally agree that at least his voice is something ' a little bit off' (although "little" remains a bit hard to measure) . That is was all I was saying....I never questioned if it may or not be unique and or inspiring, since those things will always be more of an opinion (although I do not disagree with them) than something relatively "true/untrue" about voice pitching being on tune or not (simply because it scientificly can be measured if it is or is not)

  • @justinorville

Anyway..let's not fill this comment with this discussion anymore..not sure if it's that interesting to devote pages of comments about this subject

  • angry drooling comments

  • the handclaps are SERIOUSLY annoying.

  • I think you could replace "handclaps" with "British"

  • COME ON EVERYONE!!! Let's do the Exit Music Jam!! Clap along!!

  • easy contender for greatest song of all time. it's certainly within my top five or ten. emotionally evocative and utterly brilliant.

  • ghostly, nothing beats the 97 glasto performance -twas before all the ok computer madness kicked off, everything went wrong on stage, everything wen t wrong with the festival, their songs are about thoings that are broken wrong but pulling through and thats exactly what they did with their performance and triumphed - magic

  • Really? BE Fore all the OK computer madness?? Isn't the set list copied right off the back of the album?

  • 2:04

  • beautiful...love the intense vocals at the end

  • How can they cheer and scream?

    Why can't they just listen?

  • great beautiful song

    And they just grow awesome

  • @walkdontwalkplease - radiohead glastonbury shows will be remembered for eternity and not for only 100 years! They are totally awesome! I so hope they do Glasto in 2009 .... please please please! :D

this song just melts you away everytime you hear it ..... brilliant! :-)

  • Love to see Thom sing 'I Want To See the Zoo' or 'Froggy Went a Courtin' ala Keith and Candice-Marie

  • Radiohead at Glasto '97 will be remembered 100 years from now.

Love how every single person within half a mile of the stage shut the fuck up in amazement after the first verse.

  • fantastico

  • as in the poor going hungry while the rich fill their tanks. "We hope that you choke"

  • my fave radiohead song to. FREAKY

  • Currently my favorite RH song.

  • They are clapping because they are at a festival. pissed or stoned and enjoying themseleves. Chill out. Beautiful beautiful song

  • ohhhh mannn stop clapping :S

  • bloody awesome,best song ever!!

  • if this song had an arsehole i'd bum it .... too good.... that last verse is frickin awesome

  • Why the hell are people clapping? I hate it when dumb audiences ruin the groove of a song by trying to clap. Radiohead is amazing.

  • Im sure if you were there you couldnt help it but from the sidelines it does ruin the mood.

  • Because it's Glastonbury.

Also shit audio, doesn't do the song justice.

  • This is hands down the best live version of Exit Music (For a Film) i have seen. I even prefer it to the album version, the intensity is just awesome.

It makes me sad and incredibly jealous that back in 97 I was only 6 yrs old and on the other side of the world from this concert...

  • fucking claps!!

  • love when thoms voice breaks at 2:03-2:04. one of the best songs off of one of the best albums ever made

  • His voice doesn't break - it's a video error.

  • no i think you'll find his voice does break, i have the audio and its the same, not sayin hes crap coz hes amazin but bare in mind that all the moniters were fucked and blowin up n stuff

  • Good.

  • no ones clapping at the end lol

    masterpeice

  • This brings back memorys <3 Such a talented band and always write lyrics to match the music and make you think.

  • I was fortunate to be there. Amazing. I was one of the people who's jaw dropped watching them. Didnt need to clap.

  • I would gleefully molest Michael Moore's anus, and then have my genitals shred by a giraffes teeth just to have been at that show.

And the audience clapped most likely because they didnt know what was about to hit them. . soon enough they all stood silently, wide-mouthed in utter amazement:D

  • that was the funniest comment i have ever read. ever. thank you! lol! I wasnt there either but I would have done pretty much about anything...

  • today... we scape!

  • you gotta think, this is glastonbury, the whole crowd is probably hammered and its an excellent performance, i'm sure they were just getting into it. I'd have clapped! Besides they got so many people clapping along it almost adds a new element of the song...

  • I LOVE this music and Radiohead!

  • The clapping makes me laugh lmao! Id just sort of sway..Most probably but if everyone was clapping maybe i'd join in but clapping to this song is a bit weirddd

  • people where just caught up in the song so they clapped :P

  • lol the clapping gives exit music a bit of a ho down feeling

  • that made me lol

  • who thought've using that fucking coin?

they really are on a different plane of existence lol

hey so what, i would've clapped, its Radiohead

  • best gig ever

  • I hate the fuckin' clapping here! It's not a Justin Timberlake on stage people!!!!

Just kidding. If I was there I would probably clap in my fuckin' hands.

Or maybe not...dunno...Clap in my hands during "Exit Music" is just blasphemy.

  • Who is the Concert Police banning the clapping?? Perhaps they should have a guy onstage with a board saying when its ok or not ok to clap? Good idea yeah

  • I think it fits perfectly when you interpret the claps, as steps, of an unknown danger coming up to grab "them" before they escape. they stop on the breathe; perfect.

  • Wish those kunts wouldn't clap & just listen to radioheads brilliance

  • :X The clapping ruins it

  • IM reaallly agrree with JMullown

  • greatest kick in point eeeeveeer."you cant laugh".woooo sends shivers down my spine.must of heard a million tunes in my life but nothing has power like this.marrrrr.sorry im having a moment.

  • erm, sorry but it's "you can laugh", hope it don't ruin your future moments

  • You're very close but actually the greatest kick in point everrrr is when he sings "Now we are one..." That bits given me more "moments" than any other song everrr.

  • but thats were it winds down not kicks in. Kick in doesnt mean best bit. It means were the build up reaches its peak and the tune has fully "kicked in" u with lots of 13's in your name as if you bothered pulling up a happy man on a t you are a massive geek.

  • Amazing vocals when he's singing the "Now we are one in everlasting peace" ;o

  • he looks very scary in this lighting. all smooth, like an alien. shudders*

  • dude thom is an alien

  • i know, he just CAN'T be human.

to non-radiohead fans this must seem like such total crap, but what do they know. thom is genius. jonny, though its hard to say so, may even be MORE of a genius. clapping is okay i guess, its a live video. adds a certain charm to it.

  • yur a tool dude

  • would've been better if those jackasses didn't clap along to thoms guitar. there's a reason that there isn't any percussion at the beginning people. i find it disrespectful and highly annoying when audiences do that.

  • disrespectful? why? it would be disrespectul if they were whistling or sleeping while the guy is playin...and also, it depends on the song, some songs don't sound worse when clapped in concerts, IMO.

but i agree in that they shouldn't have clapped on this one.
