Pussies. Amnesia is a very good game. To be honest, it is actually the best horror game ever made. (Forget Silent Hill and Resident Evil and Fear 1 and games like those). Amnesia fucking scares the poo out of you.

BUT. That only happens at night (@_@), in a dark room and while using a headset. Those two simple things make the game a real rush.

@FuuzOfMischief then let me ask this: why did he even bother, if he didn't play the game as it was meant to be played? i don't own the game but i'm pretty sure it says at the beginning that you are supposed to play the game in the dark with head phones and if possible alone to enhance the ambience of the game! i think it's disrespectful to not play a good game like the developers intended. though i could imagine if he did it, he wouldn't have touched the game from the watery cellar part onwards!

Playing this game with friends can be a great experience, as someone will notice certain noises and things that get them paranoid that the others will miss, and mention them - and the fact different things are getting to each person in the group just makes it all the more paranoia-inducing.

Games like Fear, Silent Hill and others make me only flinch when an enemy shows up at the most. Then you grap the gun and shoot them dead and there is nothing to fear. But in Amnesia you hide and are scared to move even an inch while you wait for the monster to either kill you or go away.

@Battlefield3Updates To be fair, Silent Hill is actually far more creative and intelligent than Amnesia. Not that the latter isn't either of those things, only Silent Hill has motifs such as the theme of perversion in 2 and motherhood in 3. They also use psychological theory and are quite evocative. Amnesia is a different kind of horror; far more 'typical' than SH but good in its own adrenaline-filled and outright scare-you-shitless way. You can't compare the two; they're completely different.
