  • I don't think its safe to have that much blues power in one place.

  • I love watching these things from time to time... you can really hear the difference between a real blues artist and the others there is nuance a real soul that is in blues that guys like John Mayer and even Clapton will just never have... Johnny Winter got it listen to the album King Bee from Muddy Waters. and yeah Jimmie Vaughn got it too even more than his brother did... everybody else is rockers

  • RIP HUBERT SUMLIN

  • Buddy Guy = King of the Blues

  • John can play his ass off.

  • すばらしい、身体が動いちゃう。

  • RIP Hubert

  • Jimmie musta thought for a second that his brother was back halfway through John's solo.

  • sweet i have the same guitar as buddy and jimmie, but i doubt theirs is a squier...and mine has no whammy :( close enough :/

  • @RockstarBassQueen I'll guarantee they arent playing squier's

  • @ZoSo8786 I'm not so sure, check out Buddy Guy's guitar, that looks awfully close to a

    Squier to me.

  • @xarkos Well it is a strat... but its a Fender strat. However, I'm glad you made me look more closely because I only realized now nearly all of them have strats.... must be the "preferred guitar of the blues"

  • @ZoSo8786 Well all strats are Fenders, the question is more one of production year. Squier is the production company that's been churning out Fender's strats since '82. That said there's a good chance they'd be using guitars they've owned longer than that, and the video doesn't show a good enough shot of the guitar heads to read if it has both the Squier and Fender names or just Fender.

  • @ZoSo8786 And yeah, strats are generally pretty heavily favored in blues rock, especially from that era. Les Paul was also a huge rock guitar at that time and then not long after SGs and to a much lesser extent telecasters. These days though it seems SGs usually dominate the scene.

  • @xarkos its all fender, alll day

  • @ZoSo8786 Depends on your type of blues. "texas" style ala SRV single coils are the only way to go - BB, ALbert King, Freddie King (that more southern swampy style) however used guitars with humbuckers - 335s, Flying V, etc. Horses for courses.

  • @vdeferens I was referencing everyone in this video is playing fender strats, not squire strats. Anyways, "southern swampy blues" is actually called delta blues and the "Kings" play more of a Chicago blues... kind of like this song. Granted this is originally a Robert Johnson, delta blues song, but this rendition has the Chicago blues feel which I think came about around 30 years later.

  • ahhhhhhhh they are all there!!!!!all gods together!!!maybe this is olympus mountain!!!!!

  • whoeee....low down and dirty blues...love it!!!

  • Is that John Mayer?!?! My respect for him just went up by about a bazillion percent!

  • Now this is how it should always be done. Yeah baby "Sweet Home Chicago" Actually I don't care for the Windy City but I do love some hot bad ass blues.

  • too bad they couldn't dig up any decent guitar players, believe that and I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale you might be interested in!!!!

  • Huge drummer, looks awesome :P

  • vaya orgia musical!!!!

  • 5:49 unplugged guitar :D

  • sorry, it was in 5:49

  • 4:59 unplugged guitar

  • The blues will never die!

  • John Mayer really sucks, this is the proof right there, He just cant hang with these guys.

  • @Eddu13 HA HA he looks like he works at abercombie and fitch!

  • @Eddu13 john mayer doesn't suck. he's just different. he's obviously younger and was exposed to different styles of playing than the rest of them when he was learning which would've caused him to learn a different style of the blues. his style is easily distinguishable among the rest of them, be that a good thing or not is your opinion, but you can't make fun of him for his age. I personally like his style

  • @gnrfanatic141414 Dude I don't care if you like John suck or not, He just sucks, He has nothing to show, He is just another guy on the block, the world will live just fine without his shitty music. Being a GNR fan you should've know what better music is, but if you don't even play guitar nor know about it, I can't say much. Fender is no better than Gibson, is just for a different style of playing.

  • Personally, it doesn't matter who originally wrote this song. The first recording was by Robert Johnson in 1936, and his music has inspired scores of musicians over the last 75 years. Thank you for this excellent tribute to a classic Delta blues artist...

  • No one plays quite like Buddy....

  • @MOFROMUSIC THANKS FOR THE TREAT MMMM....IT TASTES SO GOOD

  • A parade of Strats :-)

  • all stars , not a fan of mayer but he,s darn good here

  • Hát ezt el hallgatnám napokig! Szenzációs!!!

  • I was there!!!

  • why nobody is playin gibson? :/

  • @UnceBobTouchedMe no self-respecting blues guitarist would ever be caught playing a gibson on a song like this. gibson's just don't have good tone quality when it comes to playing the blues

  • @gnrfanatic141414 but man..what about BB King? he plays gibson..and its tone is orgasmic...fender are awesome guitars for playing the blues but..you can't say that they are better than gibson..they both have good qualities for playin the blues

  • @UnceBobTouchedMe b.b. king plays an jazz hollowbody, which could be an exception. but B.B. king also doesn't usually play chicago style blues. he's more jazz. i couldn't see anybody playing a gibson for this style

  • @gnrfanatic141414 dude are you fuckin kiding me? BB KING JAZZ? jesus fuckin christ o.O

  • @UnceBobTouchedMe that's not what i meant. i meant that his blues playing has a more jazzy style to it. he's obviously blues or we would not be having this conversation

  • @gnrfanatic141414 nvm man :) btw u play guitar right? i saw couple of your channel jams, they are nice :)

  • @UnceBobTouchedMe thank you. guitar's not my best though. i'm much better at piano. i actually didn't those videos were that great. what about you? do you play?

  • @gnrfanatic141414 you are the keyboard player in your videos? or the guitarist? btw i play guitar too, but a little more advanced :) i play jazz/blues now but next year i will study jazz guitar in a university. you can check out my channel, there is a cover of Howlin' Wolf's - Smokestack Lightning by me and my band a few years ago :)

  • @UnceBobTouchedMe i played all the instruments on them but i used midi sounds for everything except guitar so i could edit them if i missed a note or something like that. My cover of my redeemer lives was mainly to see how well i could play it in one take

  • @gnrfanatic141414 i'm saying that fender is better than gibson

  • Amazing!

  • excellent...

  • Ah good, I only listen to music which has at least 5 awesome guitarists playing.

  • @oliolion seven.

  • @oliolion awesome comment

  • @oliolion Me, I like at least 7 (John Mayer & Johnny Winter). Don't you know that place was smokin' hot!?!? Love it!!

  • While John Mayer is undoubtedly a very skilled guitarist, i don't think he deserves to share this stage with so many blues veterans.

  • @senarphis indeed

  • @senarphis I think he did pretty damn good, ... and I'm not even a John Mayer fan.

  • IIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE !! AAAAAAMAAAAZING !! ♥ IT ~ HAVE A KIK AZZ DAY ALL - PEACE , LUV , N' NOISE ♥♫~{\0/}~

  • You forgot Johnny Winter & John Mayer but anyway... awesome quality

  • You are right, sorry.

  • @Mofromusic That's okay we'll try to forgive you! :)

  • @MRLP89 You all play awsome together and sound WOW..... John Mayer is cute.... Just sayin....

  • @MRLP89 fuck john mayer man

  • @warprodigis john mayer's actually a really good blues guitarist, he just plays crap music for a living. look up eric clapton john mayer crossroads. hes good when he plays real music
