  • Mom's can't send their son's to war in a VOLUNTARY military. Once junior turns 18 he is considered an adult and makes his own decidions that may or may not coincide with mom's wishes. So I don't buy the bullshit story about mom's sending their son's to war to die. It's just a story and is false. When I went into the military I signed up and then told mom and dad. None of their business anyway.

  • we only get 20% of our oil from the middle east

  • You are willing to send your son to Iraq or Afghanistan? Ask Bush or Chaney if any of their kids all willing to put their lives on the line and go fight in Iraq or Afghanistan. You would send your child off to fight for big oil and the military industrial complex?

  • You don't just get to spend 1 year in the military when you enlist you dumb bitch.

  • so when uncle sam called his grandparents or hist father or whatever it is, was it THEIR decision to go? I don't think that's exactly how it worked. And making you believe that your nation (which is not what you want, but what people in power want it to be) is more important than your son's life.well, that's what they want. Stop and think that your country doesn't really need to send your son to wars....rather just not have any war, not wasting people's lives.

  • Tommy wants to be a stripper.

  • ....why do we care about his grandparents? It has nothing to do with them...you could have saved your breathe and just said "if matthew wants to fight thats his choice" but anyways ur stupid lady lol

  • oh his names tommy lol....shows how much i care lol

  • And amazingly NONE of those wars were to directly protect the united states, especially not the civil war (by definition). And they cost big bucks and lost many lives.

  • With the possible exception of the American Revolution you're right.

  • whoops must have missed that one. I will give that to her.

  • think of all the men that died that didn't have sons and daughters, daughters that couldn't tell the same story she tells. Anyway, it's honorable to fight in an honorable war, but honorable wars are hard to come by.

  • i disagree with this mom greatly. if obama becomes our president, we wont have to have war! its called compromising. we went into this war for no reason. so if you want your son to go into this war, just so we can steal others oil, and risk his life doing so, GO FOR IT. im sure if we really had a reason to go to war, to defend our freedom, obama would do it. just not for stupid shitty reasons like bush and mccain.

  • you are one stupid whore, what makes you think that we're safe because we're going to every country and bombing the shit outta them, you're trying to raise a terrorist to die and go to hell for Mccain? ...what is wrong with america..what a cunt, wants her son dead....shame on christains who preech hate and war

  • Thank you Tommys Mom,for not raising a mommas boy, like Alex's mom is.

  • WW2, Civil War and War with the Brits was required to save live and protect the sovereignty of the US.

War in Iraq is to make rich people richer.

I hope your kid is homosexual.

  • I agree with this guy, except the homo part. In respect though, this war in Iraq is in all honestly stupid. We went there with the excuse, "to chase down terrorists." Instead, after 5 long years,we spent 8 billion a month on "taking care" of a country and "trying" to rebuild it. It's a shame that young men and women's minds are clouded when they think that this war is to protect us, when it has had nothing to do with America in the first place, besides the terrorism, which we've lost sight of.

  • And to add to this, by "guy" I mean buttdagger, who posted below.

  • That poor kid. His mother's a moron.

  • Leave 90 billion a year in oil revenue in Sadam's hands and you would have had WWIII.

You think of the 4000 dead solders as victims, I see them as the men/women that stopped WWIII.

Because of those 4000, the kid above will not be drafted into a worldwide conflict against an adversary as strong as the Nazi's.

  • Yeah right! ...and your great-great uncle Joseph fought in the war of 1812...and your 10X great Grandpa fought in the French and Indian War, AND your 50X Great someone-or-other died bravely right along side King Leonidas in the Battle of Thermopylae.

  • yeah? 75 years? well its gonna be 20 or so if you send him to iraq. how will you feel when hes dead?

  • lol..there's a reason why the child is running away from you lady!!!

Say hi to Fox news for me!

  • Sad that you would actually want your child to risk their life for war that should never have started to begin with.

  • I heard that the woman in this video has decided to vote for Barack Obama because she is afraid McCain will bring back the draft...

  • if i could give this less than 1 star i would, this really makes me mad.

  • wow runnerrk, you are probably one of the most terrible people on the internet.

  • nice video...

alex' mom is a selfsame slut...probably doesn't even know who the father of her bastard child is...

  • runnerrk: Wow, clever response, to such a trivial issue. It's always great to hear from intelligent, thoughtful conservatives, such as yourself. Why do Liberals think you're all a bunch of knuckle-dragging baboons?

  • sceptre

'''''Why do Liberals think you're all a bunch of knuckle-dragging baboons? '''''

ummm, lemme see.......because we murder our unborn children?....and we seek to normalize the lifestyle of child rapists (homos)?.....or is it because we despise the rich out of envy and seek to redistribute their wealth to crack whores like alex' mom?

my IQ is 40 points higher than yours, sceptre...conservatively...

and alex' mother is still a whore...:)

  • runnerrk: Well, there you have it! You're an intellectual, racist, woman hater. You're too clever for me. I'm sure your IQ is even higher than your estimate. I only wish I were as enlightened as you. You did forget to mention what a happy and well adjusted individual you are. I'll bet you even own one of those fancy, double-wide trailers!

  • sceptre

    I am an intellectual...

    I love women....feminists don't qualify, of course...

there are worse things to be than a racist....such as a sexual predator (homosexual)...abortionist...or crack whore like alex' mom...

    I live in a 3200 sq ft ranch style...and it's paid for...

I am indeed too clever for you...

get used to saying president McCain...:)

  • runnerrk: I guess you're right. So, if we're making a list of the worst kinds of people in the world, there's Sexual Predator, Abortionist, Crack Whore and You. Well, not only are you too clever for me, you're way too honest. Keep it up, smarty pants, you're burying me here.

  • sceptre

    I also own a Hummer...a Lincoln...and a Harley Davidson...

I take 2-3 month long vacations...and spend my winters on southern beaches, mostly...

I've met Ann Coulter...had a couple drinks with her, actually...and Rush Limbaugh...a truely humble and magnificent American...quite generous with his wealth, I might add...unlike most of the overpaid unionists I know...

and...I'm voting for the winner in nov 4s election...umm, that'd be John McCain...:)

  • Y'know what, screw this. I know conservatives can't be this blatantly retarded, so I'll say something you'll probably understand: gb2/b/

  • runnerrk:...uh...nobody cares.

  • runnerrk: Guess what...turns out you aren't any kind of intellectual. You're actually just another dumbass, redneck. Who knew!!?

  • Safe from what? We aren't dying on our own soil...but the Iraqis are. While you may be willing to have him spend one year, there's no way that's all he'll spend. Going into the army is his own decision, but you shouldn't be mocking someone with different views than yourself. We could all just as easily call you a family of war mongerers, right? Grow up.

  • eridan

    let me guess...you're a nigger?

    thought so...

  • Way to be ignorant. Actually, I'm pure German and Swedish, so I'm probably more Aryan than you could ever hope to be.

  • eridan

well...niggers are prone to lying...so who can tell what you are...

at any rate...b. hussein obama is toast...losing ground in the polls even during his convention....McCain will win this thing going away...

and spare me the 'you don't know how I'm going to vote' crap...you're an onigra supporter...all liberal filth is...

    one dimensional loser...

  • Of course I'm voting for Obama. Unlike you, I'm capable of intelligent, rational thought. I used to think McCain was a decent alternative, but his stance on the economy, oil crisis, health care and the war are wrong.

Not all 'liberal filth' supports Obama. If you actually kept up with news, you'd know that much of my party is still sore over Hillary's loss and they're thinking about voting for McCain out of revenge...because they'll know he'll only last four years and Clinton can try again.

  • Thank you for your family's service! Your baby is adorable!!

Sending you lots of good energy!!!

We're going to WIN in November!

My stepfather was in Korea, btw. He came back and people in San Francisco spit on him, even then.

I always walk up to service men and thank them for their service!

    Thank YOU!

  • OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA! YEAH!!!! That's who you meant by "we're going to win"? Right? Yeah, I thought so. Only warmongers are patriots. Wear that flag pin with pride!!!!

  • Laura, WTF are you talking about? Are you the child of some deluded liberals? I'm voting for McCain.

  • Your family has killed a lot of ionnocent civilians. Show some compassion instead of sacrificing your sons and the sons of others for corporate foreign investments.

  • gregspencewolf:

    Your words,your page-- " I am a multitalented person,

I Play Guitar, mandolin, piano and trombone.

I am an instructional assistant in the Seattle Public School District"

    WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED?

  • Good video. There is a mother that is raising her kid to be a normal, healthy man. Unlike Alex's mom, who is raising him to be gay. If I was Alex, I would runaway by the time I was 12.

  • Proud to be ignorant republicans are keeping us all nice and safe...amazing hypocritical psychopaths.

  • It's interesting how the comments have been blocked from that video. No matter how much you agree with John McCain, or the war, the truth is that it's a VOLUNTARY service, and if Alex wants to go, it's HIS decision. His mommy is trying for the emotions of young moms, and not being rational at all. I have a daughter, and a nephew in the current military. The troops want to finish what they started.

  • The senseless war in Iraq is not keeping us safe.

And it doesn't look like Tommy likes being held by you.

  • Tommy obviously wants out of your unmaternal hands.

  • Sceptre99: It is a choice our men and women make to join our military. There has been no draft during this war. In Viet Nam the draft was in full force. It was JFK and LBJ who started then escalated that war. (I know I was there the last 2 ½ years). Too few of our best and brightest have signed up to fight the Islamists in Iraq (and not NYC). Unfortunately they have to carry the burden and keep going back to the war while you sit on your fat ass and write your dribble.

  • U*R*ASS: Many, many of the dead military in Iraq are National Guard members, with families, even grandchildren. Also, there were no Islamists in Iraq before the US showed up. They came there to fight us. We took our eye off the ball in Afghanistan, where the real Islamists are. That's why we haven't finished the job there. Too many of our resources are in Iraq, a huge waste of lives and money. BTW, since you are undoubtedly older than I am, I'm sure your ass is much fatter than mine.

  • sceptre99 Your reply is clever, yet misinformed or misguided by your personal feelings.Any war is a dirty-sad business that I imagine you have never HAD to take a personal part. The key word in this particular discussion is VOLUNTEER. Volunteers in the National Guard not intending to fight a war, I am afraid that deferment went by the wayside with the draft.

Islamic terrorists are every where. There will be blood for years in this conflict, I prefer it is not be on US soil anymore.

  • Sceptre99: BTW—It's most possible my old ass is larger than yours is but I didn't get mine sitting in front of a PC all day. In retrospect I should have written what I precisely meant. Your "Fat (Lazy) Ass" was alluding to your talk-talk-talk while the troops DO and their families support them in their endeavors. Also my screen name in an acronym

    U-Kiss-Ol'-R's-ASS

  • ASS: Acronym not withstanding, I prefer to call you "Ass" for short. I served 4 years active duty Air Force. While you may prefer that blood not be spilled on US soil, it has already happened and will undoubtedly happen again. "fighting them over there" is not an option, since "they" are not an army, but a network of terrorist organizations. They cannot be fought with armies. The war in Iraq is a sham, top to bottom. The larger war on terrorism will be fought in a totally different way.

  • ...with a new, and much smarter president Obama!

  • Bitch-99

And just how would you and the "empty suit" fight terrorism? Talk to them? Do you wish to march through Afghanistan and onto Pakistan, an extremely unstable nuclear power? What of the Shi'a in Iran and their pitbulls Hezbollah, the Sunni-Wahhabists other than Al-Qaeda? What's your plan?

War sucks, yeah we know. "We built a war in Iraq and they came to us" Where are you going to fight?

So let the woman be proud of her husband + family. You rage your leftist rant at Bush!

    U Bitch

  • U*Kiss*Our*Ass: Apparently, you didn't read what I wrote. So, I'll say it again: You don't fight terrorism with armies, you fight fire with fire, underground. You take out their leaders, like Bin Laden. You don't use our military as bait, allowing them to martyr themselves. There will always be more who are willing to die for Allah. But you know all this, don't you, angry little baby man?

  • Bitch99

    Angry—no, little—again no, baby-man—WTF is that?

Now for your solution: Assassination, now there's a plan for a movie or video game. It is not your candidate's plan and unfortunately it is highly unlikely having any chance for success.

For someone who served somewhat recently in the military, you are incredibly ill informed and naive. Shoot your last shot, I grow weary of talking to a rock. I now end our "tit for tat".

    Aloha---ASS

  • Wow, you are won of the few not to have someone killed in war. If you really want your son to risk his life, not for the protection of our country, but so you can drive an ford navigator. More power to you.

  • hahah comedyjesus look tha baby doesnt even like what shes saying she trying to run from her arms

  • I'm not sure how this baby will fare in an Iran ground invasion, but OK, we'll accept the enlistment.

And I'm not sure we can get him only one year, he will probably be stop-lossed for 3-10 years, but I'm sure those years of post war will be golden for him.

Please bring him in for a physical this month.

    Best,

    D.O.D.

  • Genius. :)

  • vote against mccain for the troops!! we love our troops!!!

  • it is tommy's decision. but tommy's mom - it seems like you already made the decision for him. it's also alex's decision. it should be everyone's decision, we should have to worrry about drafts and people making our decision for us.

  • No - ALEX'S MOM is the one who made the decision. She SPECIFICALLY said 'you can't have him. Never mind that he would be about nine years old at the most if McCain were elected and never mind that, quite frankly, it REALLY IS his decision!

  • yeah. like a mother would say about her baby child. it was meant more to apply to emotion not reason. meaning you can't take her baby away from her.

  • Man... that baby is gonna be a killin machine! GOD BLESS AMERICA! DOWN WITH PEOPLE WHO DONT SPEAK AMERICAN!

  • It seems like your child is trying awfully hard to escape your proud "legacy."

  • It looks like the baby don't wanna even be in the commercial... tryna kick his way out of mommy's arm and out of the legacy of fighting useless wars!!!! LOL!!!

  • a little excited about our child getting blown up over a war that we needn't have involved ourselves in in the first place, now, aren't we? the kid didn't like to seem the idea either.

  • the err is that the occupation in Iraq makes nobody safe, particulary the soldiers.

  • good luck making it your expected 75 kid

  • OMG! So, this is how trigger Happy Nutjobs are made. BrainwaSh them from the baby age.

  • How about you send that kid to college and let him succeed through intellectual production and not killing.

God Bless America and the Science Community who made it this way in the first place.

  • It's a good response but I got news for this woman: you're kid will probably spend a lot longer than one year in Iraq.

  • Its great that many people in her family have fought for this country, and that it is his choice to join the forces or not, but shes almost saying that it would be a disgrace if he did not choose to fight in a war during his adult age.

  • You should always be proud to serve your country, but the sentiment that about Baby Alex is something we all share. Let's not send our children off to war when there isn't a reason to.

  • Im with you all th way on that. The woman in this video clearly misses the point of the one made by moveon.

  • Notice how when she's talking about him going to war, he starts struggling and trying to get away from her? I find that strange for some odd reason...

  • Tommy quite clearly said, "NO" at 14 seconds...

  • We are not fighting for our freedoms. We are fighting an unjust war based off of fake facts. John McSame is going to continue BAD policies put in place by the Bush administration.

And your kid doesn't seem to share your sentiments, btw. He seems smart enough to know that you look like an idiot.

  • Ma'am, with all due respect, you said 'one of his 75 expected years' You do realize that no one only spends one year in Iraq, right? And, hate to break it to you, but the longer he's over there, the more the likelyhood that you're going to have one less child.

  • I'm sorry, that was 'expected 75' not '75 expected'.

Also... just because your son is stationed there, isn't going to make this country safe. I'm sure, you being the military family that you are, that there was infact a US base in Iraq PRE-911. And what good did it do us?

  • HAHAHA the baby was trying to escape maybe he dosen't like you LOL

  • yeah its HIS decision lady. not yours. you make it sound like its yours.

  • it will be his decision, i absolutely agree- but i disagree with the rightist rhetoric that over and over again claims that being in iraq is somehow making america safer or is fighting terrorism- i think that what alex's mom meant with her video is that the next president needs to stop what isn't working- fighting terrorism is a good thing, but keeping a large military presence in iraq is misguided and misplaced

  • EXACTLY! This war is not about making America safe, it's about America bullying other countries and playing "king of the hill."

  • 1 Father, 2 GrandFathers, 2 GreatGrandFathers, Relitives, No He's Not Going To Feel Foreced At All, Your Right "Its His Disisoin"

  • Hey Tommy's mom, are you sure you are speaking from your heart cos you dont seem to mean it.Anyway, wait until tommy grow up. I bet you he's gonna disown you for making such comments.

  • Hey TOMMY'S MOM LOVE THE VIDEO!!!! I feel the same as you do!!!! at least if he chose to go fight for our country and died that would be a honorable thing, unlike going down the road and getting killed by a stupid drunk driver!!!

  • You think it's honorable to die in an unjustified war?! The death of any person is a terrible thing- no matter how they die. You sound like a real idiot.

  • Jamaddict what are your addicted to alcohol? did that hit a nerve with you? fighting for our country is an honorable thing! stupid drunk driver isnt!!!

  • I actually don't drink- it holds no value to me. But I think that whether my child was hit by a dd or was killed in the war I would still be devastated. Especially such a pointless war.

  • Hey Tommy's mom- as a veteran, I just thought I'd point out to you that allowing your kid to literally sit on and poop on the US flag is not only disrespectful, but against the US flag code.

Way to show your silly, misguided patriotism.

  • Hey Tommy's mom! Thanks for sticking up for parents who want to instill a love for their country in their children. Freedom is not free. Every man who died fighting for our freedom had a mother somewhere. And I say, Have MORE kids! We can outnumber the them! :) I have three, so far!

  • Just because people don't want to see their children die in an unjust war does not mean that they wouldn't want their children to fight to protect the rights and freedom of their country. Being against this misguided war based on lies does not make someone unpatriotic. Yeah! Have more kids to sacrifice in a "mine is bigger" war!

  • I don't think your baby would like that, he keeps trying to get away from you.

  • Hey Tommy's mom dont have anymore kids.

    Thank you. Cute kid though.

  • oh and one more thing. Bush and his cronies lied to you. And you still believe him.

What's it like being a sheep?

  • Hey Tommy's mom, you obviously never lost a child.

I wouldn't want to be your kid. My mom loves me enough to have me die for Hallibu...I mean freedom in Iraq or the WMD in Iraq or to, wait what are we fighting for in Iraq...oh yes Hallibu...no thats not it. Oh the terrorists thats it. Except aren't they all from Saudi Arabia? Why don't we invade it instead...oh wait...Hallibu...oh nevermind. Bye mom I'm off to kill or be killed.

  • the baby didnt seem to like the idea.

  • Oh, poor baby. He's trying to get away the whole time! I think both of these videos are ridiculous. If Alex wanted to be a soldier HIS mom couldn't stop him and if your son DOESN'T want to be a soldier, you can't make him. Right now they are both BABIES.

  • And that's exactly why at the end of this video she says, "that's his decision." Did you even watch the entire thing?

  • That's sickening.

  • Well said Tommy's mom. The rest of you...good luck with idealism of the perfect world where we have no war. I am a realist and will fight and encourage those who fight for your freedom to sit there and wishful think. You can talk down the government and try for resolutions, but remind yourself, when it doesn't happen and we need warriors, the military is here.....DO NOT talk down about those who serve or encourage service to this country. They are here to protect you.

  • Right now we aren't protecting ANYONE, we are bullying and killing others and putting our own sons and daughters in harms way for NO REASON.

  • Yeah you'll be saying that if Tommy gets killed hey, mummy????

  • My son is dead and I agree with her. Besides, as she says, it's "his decision". Alex's mom would rather not let her son have a choice. So much for freedom.

  • looks like even tommy doesnt want to be around you mom.

  • so we should murder people for the sake of your family's tradition? how does that make our country safe? maybe you should think a bit before you get all giddy about your son being shot.

  • What kind of moron is ok with their child dieing in an unjust war? I bet I know what side of the civil war your ancestors were on. Why do people think military service is something to brag about. I'm sorry your family has been a tool of an oppressive government, but don't you want better for you baby.

  • So you are willing to sacrifice your baby for a war that has not happened yet, in the future? You don't want to try to stop the problems leading to the USA having to be somewhere at war 30 years from now? Better to talk our way out of the future war than just offer up our babies now for a war 30 years from now. And to all you other parents, where are your baby's Flag pants? You are not American if your baby does not wear them. If not, we will have to deport your baby to Iraq immediately.

  • expected 75 years, are those years before or after he gets his head blown off fighting in iraq?

  • i don't know what to say to this. it's just really a shame that a mother is so willing to let her child put himself into harm's way for a war of choice.

  • Will you send him there for oil?

  • Way to go!. That "Not Alex" video is offensive to all of us that have had friends and relatives sacrifice for us in the military.

  • Funny, I was in the military, had multiple friends and family members in the military (including my own brother,) and I in no way at all found the "Not Alex" video offensive.

So when you say "all of us" you should know that you most definitely don't speak for everyone.

The biggest insult to our military is putting them in harms way for unjust reasons.

  • "The biggest insult to our military is putting them in harms way for unjust reasons."

All of the veterans that I know have the same feeling as well. Two thumbs up and thanks.

  • Topherless -

Personally - I don't see the war in/for Iraq as unjust. The enemy attacked us here on 9/11. Many died. IF our President, and our Military had only 1 goal, and that was to keep the fight off of American Soil - then they have successfully done so. Remember Pearl Harbor. America just stayed out of the World War - until it came to us - and then our brave soldiers fought for freedom. Tell me - were there any additional battles on American Soil after Pearl Harbor?

  • Iraq didnt attack us on 9/11, Iraqis didnt attack us on 9/11, so what the hell are you talking about? This has nothing to do with WW2 this is completely different, completely different, a terrorist attack by 13 men vs. a strategic military attack by a country. please, go back to school, read a book and for the love of god dont have kids.

  • If you applied your logic to other countries you would see that what your point makes no sense. Let's pretend for a moment that 12 citizens from Mexico flew a plane into the tallest building in Iran as an act of terror. Following your logic, Iran would then be justified in attacking the United States to rid us of our WMD's, and fight Mexican terrorism over here instead of over there because in the eyes of Iran, the U.S. and Mexico are one and the same.

  • What if people had not continued to Voluentarily serve in our military? Regardless of mistakes made by the politicians - I can still walk out my front door - go to work - and terrorists are not on my mind 24/7 - because of those that fight for freedom. I am thankful that they serve. I hope that our next commander in chief will continue to 'protect and defend' our country. If he or she calls for my child to serve - and my child wants to do so - I will support them.

  • Don't worry our schools and economic systems will make sure we have plenty of "volunteers"

  • you dont really understand the war going on at all huh?

  • You lost me on the tie in between 9/11 and Iraq.

  • you know what who cars about her lets watch vids like fred woohoo

  • hey alex's mom.... we love you and alex. thank you for your patriotic response. god bless you both.

  • Shut up!!!!

  • Hoorah, Semper fi, Bravo Zulu

  • Preemptive war is not the same as what Tommy's forefather's fought. Iraq has made us less safe. Read Howard Zinn's new book "A People's History of American Empire" before you send your flesh and blood off to war.

  • Please explain to me in what ways has

    our government made this country

safe in the past few years?

    thats all...

  • Thank You Tommy's Mom

Better your son than mine.................. When it comes to serving in foreign wars....I do what Republicans do....................I will send my son to college and University and to spend summers in the South of France or the Bahamas........................The Republican Way is to expect poor Americans, Poor Whites, Poor Hispanics and Poor Blacks to fight our wars...While our family enjoys summers in South Hampton.........Than you Tommy's Mom and May Good Bless You

  • Well, I'm Tommy's father and my old man grew up in Queens, volunteered to fight in Vietnam and taught us to love this country and be patriotic regardless of the circumstances. Did he influence us? Maybe, but the better question is, Is that a bad thing? Well in today's America unfortunately it seems to be. Our point was that serving this country is an individual's choice, not a political issue. And to think that some "Americans" think dressing our son up in Red, White, and Blue is a disgrace.

  • I also support your family's efforts to remove their genes from the human genome. Keep trying - Iraq might be exactly what it takes. Keep trying for that elusive Darwin award...

  • Thank you, Tommy's Mom. You're much smarter than that liberal. But, this is what the liberal media believes... *sigh*

America's starting to be overrun by the liberal media. I hope Obama isn't elected to office. I'm not ready for the world to end.

  • I sorta agree with you on Iraq. I don't think we should have gone into Iraq, it was unwarranted but we can't leave all at once. In fact we haven't even left Germany! My cousin and several of my co-workers sons are in Iraq and frankly I've heard mixed opinions about the war from them. We defiantly need to start bringing our boys back home though.

  • Hey Tommy's Mom:

Thank you so much for uploading that video. I feel that that Alex's mom video was very stupid, due to the fact that she very randomly named some hobbies of Alex, and said "You can't have him." I doubt that in war, Alex's fellow soldiers would yell, "GO CHASE THAT," or, "TRY THIS CHILI FOR ME!" So, thanks for teaching her a lesson.

  • yes lets continue the family history of letting the men die and leaving the women to be single parents.

  • HAHAH LOOK! Tommy's already tryin to get away! He knows what's up! "No war for me mommy!"

  • Damarela, that was a pretty ignorant comment.

  • Actually, it's not. I was just making light of the video. Save your put downs for someone who's saying they're against your opinion.

  • Yeah..

But anyways this war is justified by the fact that if we leave now Iran or one of the other anti American militias could take over the government and we'd have to go back in with our tail between our legs. Isreal would then have more of a reason to attack Iran. (If you saw on the news, Isreal wants to attack Iran, maybe before our election is over.) So do we leave the weak government and watch it tumble down or do we fight so that the hostile countries cannot turn Iraq into their pawn?

  • For some reason "Johnny got his gun" comes to mind. You know that scene where the father talks about Democracy as being something about "People killing people" so the son asks "would you want me to die for democracy?" His answer is yes of course.

It's sick, why do we fight wars for no reason and then try to justify it? My grandfather fought in World War II and my great uncle was murdered in the Korean war, I understand war but this is just sick.

  • Strylowskia90, we CAN'T leave Iraq now. We'll be attacked if we let our guard down. Stop believing what the media is saying and do a little research.

  • The whole "Liberal media bias" claim is as paranoid as it sounds. There is some Liberal media bias but there's an equal amount of Conservative media bias. News Corp, one of the worlds largest news providers, is owned by Rupert Murdoch a self proclaimed staunch republican. His opinions resonate throughout his networks (Fox, FX, Fox News, etc.) and the New York Post, which is "powered" by News Corp as-well.

I've debated this same subject several times with republicans, so feel free to debate.

  • Dear Tommy's mom,

    What is freedom? Please define.

    Caroline

  • Awesome.. God Bless you and your family.

  • Thank you Tommy's Mom;and all your relatives who served.Five stars!!!

  • Why don't we just pay people to stop hating us and wanting to destroy America? Isn't more money the only way liberals think you can solve any problem?

  • What's the point if you use the money only to fund wars for your neocon fantasy?

  • Good one less stupid flag waving dick swinger in this country. Darwinism rules!

  • In poorer areas of the country children are preyed upon by military recruiters. There aren't as many options for them to get away from being poor. How is that choice? Also, not only is 100 yrs of war, or if it lasts til the time your child's old enough to go, only one year? That's fine if he wants to go, let him. But war affects all of us, & we're the ones who'll be paying for more than 40 yrs on just what it is already. Also, Iraq death toll discludes suicides, which has surpassed combat.

  • Hey Tommy's Mom, wrapping your son in the flag, while still another waves behind you will do nothing to protect your son if McSame becomes president.

Get your head out of the sand, pay attention and stop offering your children up for -- for what, exactly?

  • It'll do even less if Obama becomes Pres.

It's so sad so many have forgotten 9/11. Wasn't it Clinton who had Osama in the White House in 1993. Yes. Amazing.

We're in a freaking was. We've had 4,000 deaths. Pray for those families. But, this is a WAR. There were 93,000 deaths in one battle of the Civil War. 93,000!

I'm sorry, but what war has ever had only 4,000 casualties?

  • rpg,

do you honestly believe the war in Iraq is about 9/11?

  • Clinton never had Osama in th WH dumbfuck. Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11.

  • This woman thinks in terms of "one year" of her son's life, ignoring the realities of 4000+ dead and 40,000+ maimed, ignoring "stop-loss" edicts, ignoring McCain's telling admission that the Iraq occupation is about oil ... and she dresses her innocent young son a flag outfit. How grotesque. How sad. If anything this video is just as effective as the one from Alex' mom in indicting McCain's war mongering and the thoughtless dupes who support it.

  • I wish I could believe that Tommy would in fact be sent to Iraq (or Iran, or...) to defend freedom. I wish I could believe that our leaders cared enough about our lives and our children's not to waste them; all the evidence I have seen disagrees with this.

"As flies to wanton boys, are we to the gods; They kill us for their sport,"---well, I don't think our leaders care about us quite as much as that, but ot's is the same.

They're like those angler fish with "freedom" as the luminous lures.

  • Tommy is a beautiful boy. I hear that Villanova has an excellent ROTC program; and a mediocre basketball program. Go Owls!

  • It's not just a year of 75, it could be his life. If any of his grandfathers or great-grandfathers or other ancestors had had to give his life, there would be no Tommy. If we're still in Iraq when Tommy is old enough to register for the draft, we indeed may have a draft and it won't be his choice. This war must end.

  • Has anyone heard the ad that Andrew Wilkow (Sirus Satellite Talk Show) put together?

Hi Barack Obama. This is my paycheck. He's not my first. His talents include the ability to be turned into dollars in exchange for goods and services which in turn helps grow the economy and create jobs. That and everytime I look at him he reminds me of all the hard work and sacrifice I've made to get where I am in life.

  • So, Barack Obama, when you say you would raise taxes for a $1,000,000,000,000 trillion dollars in new spending, were you counting on my paycheck? If you were, you can't have him.

Go to the Sirus com / Andrew Wilkow

Its to the right and titled: Move On Ad Parody

  • Hey, we're smart so lets dissect this. Why would Obama say this when trying to get elected & where did he state this impossible #? Reps don't raise taxes but they spend money, like this $70mil/week war, where does it come from? Dems raise taxes but don't spend as much. Think: What was the deficit when Reagan left office? Huge! Clinton? A surplus. Now? The worst ever! Why isn't it affecting us? What do most pay on their visa's & how much do they owe?

  • I'm scared of this country having to pay too much! Poverty increases crime, health, suicides, happiness, health, & deaths. W/record high foreclosures & gas prices raising everything except the value of our dollar, I'm scared! & politician's making things worse, ouch! Let's look @ our debt & who we owe it to. If we don't pay off our visa, it only gets worse. the 1st guy spent it & the next in charge wants to pay it off to protect us, who's better? 90% of wealthiest pays only 80% tax. Xtra 10, us.

  • From the bottom of my heart thank you for all of your families service to our country.we owe alot to you and yours.Know this however, Your son maybe asked to wade through gore and be permanently changed both mentally and physically .So keep that in mind next time you have a little conversation with jr.We try to say that they die honorably and there sacrifice was meaningful. Not from where there sitting ,Begging for just one more second of life ...War is murder Especially when its just for Oil.

  • Good thing too. The government will always require a steady supply of foolish young men, blinded by patriotism, to do its dirty work of killing, killing, and more killing.

  • I know, it's awesome! Serving in Iraq was the best part of my life.

  • Great piece my thanks to that patrotic family

  • Even the NY Times took exception with the manipulation of McCain's "100 Years" comment for Move On's "You Cant Have Alex" but they stopped short of calling it the polished turd it is. This piece is more genuine and heartfelt. It certainly doesn't ring my BS detector the way "Alex" does. What parent doesn't have a concern about their child living in a world where there is war?

I think the first decision little Tommy should make on his own is never to dress like an American flag again.
