I read somewhere that the sound of this keyboard is better than Casio ctk4000's sound, but that article also said thet Yamaha's keys were softer concerning to weight, and that is not so good to you if you want to play a real piano after this one, is this true?

@RodrigoAtilio2 I indeed experienced that playing this keyboard is softer then a real piano.

But to solve that problem you can adjust the touch sensitivity so you have to play harder to hear a note louder.

@medykydem Yes, you need cables. You need a jack cable to connect it from the phones output (Keyboard) to the audio input to your computer. Then you open the Cubase and you can record your playing.

@rbdbety your piano is equipped with 'Touch Sense'. Make sure you switch off 'Touch Sense' for the sound to come back on at the desired volume.

@ArtificialFlavaFTB2 yes..... you can plug any instrument to a computer.... all you need is the cable, it's extremely cheap.... plug one end of the cable to the piano phone/output and the other end in the computer microfone input plug and that's it :)

@smallnessie93 Well i don't really know, it's probably midi....... but you do can conect it to a computer as any other piano but probably you can't store songs or playbacks on it... BTW a got an old Yamaha for beginners which works perfectly well for me since i got a software called the Omnisphere, you've probably heard of it....., another techniche i use is create playbacks myself and record them in computer and save them to an ipod... it also works fine as having a complex profesional piano

I want a keyboard with realistic sounds but I'm having trouble choosing between this or the Yamaha Motif, which should I get?

I own this Keyboard now for about a year now.

It's not a "great" keyboard, but it has everything you need when you want to start playing Keyboard. It's not expensive at all (got it for around 200 euros) and it features alot of sounds. especialy the string samples are really well.

what I don't like : It doesn't come close to the volume of a normal piano. I think it's way too soft, the bass should be more powerful too.

@lumbri9 I have this board and a Roland xp-50..... Get a bass amp and you will be amazed at the sound that comes out of this unit. It really brings out the bass.... It can be whatever you make of it :-). I play in a Tribute, Classic Rock & Heavy Metal Band and it's working wonders for me.

@Czopkomandor You can put new Songs (MIDI-FILE) and fitting Styles via USB- Wire on the E323. It´s not possible to put new Voices (intrument sounds) into it! You need the Dependig driver and program for your PC to connect the Keyboard to PC. You can find it on the CD-Rom you got with the E323
