  • oo my gad VINNIE 01.40 !!!!!!

  • GREAT¡¡¡

  • Vinnie drum KILLERS.

  • Very Beatiful

  • I love It! Maybe Paul was born a generation or 2 too late. Otherwise, what a great way to reinterpret a great song. Same with "Wonderwall, Smells like Teen Spirit."

I hope that his style of music won't be lost..Shame it it would.

  • WTF ?? Did someone drop an acid tab in my beer ? I cant seriously be seeing this

  • bloody awful

  • que buen cover de soundgarden que recuerdos todos estos temas. Me encanto la manera en las que fueron adaptados, como si estos hubiesen viajado en el tiempo *0*... Grande Paul Anka....

  • ENORME !!

  • Great arrangement.

  • Great song! The songwriter deserves kudos. Someone else can sing it and it still sounds great!!!!

  • Much like a car accident, I can't stop looking......... it even supersedes Smells Like Teen Spirit...........keep it up Paul !!

  • JESUS I WANT MUSIC LIKE THIS TO JUST COME BACK!

  • OMFG. Please make it stop

  • Oh, FFS.

    Is nothing sacred?

  • paul anka thanks for remembering

  • It's so swinging, like an alternative Earth version that Paul was the original singer of this song...

  • THIS IS SO GODLIKE!!! I LOVE IT

  • ESTE SEÑOR ES LA NETA

  • :O!

  • toss up between this and Steve & Eydie's cover

  • He should have done the whole song like the intro. I mean, the rest is good too but that quiet intro is just amazing.

  • @Champiness Absolutely , my thought exactly

  • Good ol' tavern jazz :>

    Paul Anka is awesome.

  • All the record really ROCKS !!!!!!

Check out the track list at the wikipedia

  • waou!

  • jaaj sound garden tmb!!!!

  • Paul you are awesome!

  • All kidding aside for a moment... this exposes just how great the lyrics are - fuckin' poetry, man.

  • he sound like the sorta guy who will sing to kids in a candybar store... anyhow, i still love the song

  • que genio paul anka ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ i love soundgarden carajooooo

  • LOVE IT!! I didn't expect to at ALL, but I like it!

  • YEAH!!!!! Love it....makes me want to get on the next train to Vegas!

  • @freakette55, and then kill myself... in the Cobain tradition. It'll be a mashup!!

  • that was bad-ass !!

  • 11 people love Puff Daddy.

  • i can't stop watching this

  • All people love Black hole sun !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • a jazzy take on chris cornell's song asking for the world to be clensed of all the filth by the moltin sun... absolutly amazing

  • @Jonzy50 not chris cornell but sound garden

  • @nazarbandi yes but chris cornell wrote the song

  • this cover suuuucks! why do people change good songs? because they're out of ideas and can't write something on their own....... just sad

  • @radarjunior I'm not of fan of people covering other people's songs but I have to admit this guy is a genius at it. Compared to other covers I've heard of this song this one is in it's own league.

I think it's sad that you don't like it...but we are entitled to our own opinions...

  • @bittercoffee2 well its a matter of opinion

  • @radarjunior lol yea paul cant write his own songs........ hes only done it for 50 years, not only his own songs, but he has written songs and themes for others too.

  • Paul Windy Anka, ill calling you from this moment. Brass rules!!! :).

  • Very bouncy. Quite good. Couldn't help but sing along.

  • I want to stand up and clap and I almost do!

  • ..."pardon my french", this song, this arrangement, just helps me get through the bullshit of my days.

  • wow.. woww just.. WOW this sounds awsome :O so different :O

  • This is absolutely inane/satanic, your choice. The only stranger cover which comes to mind is Tiny Tim's version of Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy." Oh, I forgot Sid Vicious' version of Paul Anka's "My Way." All or any of the three would greatly complement a serving of hallucinogins! Our little world has become much too sterile. Ty for posting, filiherb

  • OMFG I would never have believed that Steve & Eydie's cover of this song could be topped. Paul MFing Anka is a MFing GHAWD.

  • There is a similar arrangement for this song that was done for an album back in 1997 called "Lounge-A Palooza". Anyone who likes this version might want to check that album out as well. Anka pretty much stole the opening arrangement from that recording which featured Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme doing the vocals. Their version is a lot weirder and while I like the vocal phrasing of that one better, this Anka version has a better sound with the band.

  • Paul Anka loves him some good ol alternative rock. Nirvana and Soundgarden.

  • @RebelThoughts Nirvana and Soundgarden are not alternate rock, they are grunge..

  • @Esspen089 Grunge was a term made up by the media that all seattle bands hated. Chris Cornell and Kurt Cobain never called their music "Grunge"

  • very, very good; its so funny how he does these jazz covers and they don't sound that half bad! keep at it

  • hah, Paul Duck

  • this is fkin hilarious.

good cover though, really interesting take on it.

  • wow. what an awesome version. i love both this and chris cornell's acoustic version <3

  • WOW RIGHT!!

    fUCKEN AWESOME!!!

  • My God! What a statement of genius!!! Paul Anka was genius beyond genius!

  • @Nemesis7293 : He's still alive. Just letting you know.

  • A comic-romantic take of such depressing lyrics, genius!

  • @bramanaka This isnt his song.

It is a cover of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun.

But I agree, the lyrics are beautiful.

  • @Richardoma Yeah, I know that, I listen to this all the time back then. It's just such fun reinterpretation, 180 degress turn :D

  • @Richardoma nah really? :p

  • wow many types of artistes covered this song! Shows how amazing this song is. And it's not as bad as I thought. This can be played in lounges!

  • thanks

  • He turned me onto this, last night and I totally tripped out!

  • Those were the days when a great voice and a great band played a great song!

  • Lies the snake...hilarious!

  • My God, Somethings just never die. Paul Anka ,Frank Sinatra, Frank Valli Wont you come and wash away the rain away?

So Classic and Beautiful !!! <3

  • Quality:-)

  • Funny, how over the years.... For many of my friends. This song has been "thought" to be written about suicide. I always thought it was about heroin.

  • I really dig this track. One cool cat!

  • I woke up to this on the radio...messed me up, wondering if I was just *dreaming*I*woke*up*...

  • ok i can appreciate the musical value i just dont think its good. i can respect this guy though.

  • @theboss01AKAdb

But tell us how you really feel. ;)

  • @tidalwave1978 Nice. I love it. I'm a big SG fan myself and this was an unexpected, fantastic remake of the song. I was prepared to laugh, but found myself wanting to dance.

  • Awesome...

  • @joncooke83 Your a dick.

  • @Decimator334 you might be right. still doesn't make up for this abomination.

  • @joncooke83 really? tis is pretty amazign tbh

  • @joncooke83 How about your parents come and whip your puny ass for not having any taste in music. Cornell is a huge fan of this version of the song. Why dont you gain some sophistication instead of being a young punk who thinks he knows everything, but is actually only headed towards a dark reality of perpetual nothingness. Your inner phone is ringing. It's asking you to get a life

  • @Gilch30 put down your dungeons & dragons cards & step away from the meth. All i did was give my honest opinion (not directed at you) about this song and now you somehow think you've been able to disect my entire existence over a post about a paul anka video?!?! If you get this worked up over a post from total stranger on the internet, i would hate to see someone criticize something you enjoy to your face.hell you might breakdown and cry. P.S. Picked up my inner phone..said you were a douche

  • @joncooke83 LOL Nice comeback. You are the one who made a fool of yourself stating that Cornell should come up and beat up Anka for a song that he likes. Give it a rest man. That's what made your post stand out as being idiotic. By the way, never played Dungeons and Dragons and don't plan in the future. Nice job pulling out the insults that have been used millions of times by others though

  • @joncooke83

Actually, Chris Cornell in a Rolling Stone interview said he loved this cover. You're an idiot.

  • I'd laugh, but well I laugh.

  • @ 1:50

  • whew! That is swinging, classy!

  • @xsublimenalx I totally agree xD

  • wow this guy should suicide

  • You guys should hear the Steve and Eydie version. Brilliant arrangement! This one kinda sux.

  • @dbarroga been looking for that version for years thank you soooo very much for mentioning it.

  • @UBZUKI no prb!

  • why does he ruin every song :O

  • Es una maravilla esta canción, una metáfora de voz y de intención.

  • just goes to show you that a trained musician that thinks outside the box can do anything he/she wants. Who would have thought of transcribing a successful post-grunge rock classic into a swinging band number? Why Paul Anka, of course.

  • thats soo cool

  • Paul Anka you are the man! This is way too good. I cannot stop listening to this :) Don't get me wrong, the original by Soundgarden cannot and will not, ever be topped, but it sure opens a whole new perspecitive on musicical interpretation.

  • BUT he left out the middle part where the time signature goes intogroups of three, i love that part! Still, nice chords lend themselves to his treatment. Way to shake it up, Paul!

  • I thought the opening was brilliant and wish they stayed in that style. It would have worked much better.

  • o_O woahmygod this is sooooooo slow...

    It's kinda wierd...

    But still, he's kinda funny.

  • awesome!!!!!!

  • vete a la mierda vago !

  • I must admit, this is quite a good cover, very different but very good.

lol i couldn't stop laughing after reading this:

"Reportedly, the Michael Jackson song "Billie Jean" was slated to be on the album in the recording stages, but Paul Anka could not get through a vocal take without bursting into laughter."

  • @kris242

brilliant story just has me laughing too.

  • @kris242: Don't blame him-it's a hard song to sing as a swing song, peobably.

  • Good going Anka, you lounge singer's idol. Way to take a melancholic epic song and make it sound like the Golden Girls theme.

  • this isnt that good

  • OMG. This is fabulous! Never thought Black Hole Sun could be pretty. =)

*searches iTunes for more of Paul's music*

  • This song is one of the best covers that I´ve heared. Mr. Anka knows how to take an awesome song ang give us a beautiful musical piece. Thank you Mr. Anka. You did it again.

  • This is actually brilliant on Anka's part. Younger people can get turned on to the novelty of his different, jazzy take on (at least relatively) contemporary songs, and then they might want to buy in to his earlier, original stuff. (Sorry, that might be a "no crap Sherlock" statement, but I'm just sayin')

  • Until now I though that song was Soundgarden. Boy was I ever wrong...........

  • @nirvanafatal

    is IS soundgarden

  • kickin rad

  • can't freaking stand Soundgarden, this is awesome though.

  • :fail:

This is in no way a bad cover.

And this is in no way music the world could easily be without. If you think Swing and Jazz is bad then for one, you have no taste in music and for two what exactly do you think of a lot of the crap played on the radio now?

  • Hmm... didn't write anything at all about swing being bad... Who are you to judge someone as having no taste at all, just because they don't like what you like anyway? Taste is all about subjectivity.

  • But I agree that there is waaaaaaay too much shit on the air theese days, and the radio stations are too fucking conservative. Don't get me wrong: I like Anka. Love Sinatra. But don't start playing swing versions of grunge unless there's a really good idea behind it. I don't see the good idea in this case is all. :-)

Lend an ear to my music, & be welcome 2 call it crap if u don't lioke it!!!

    Merry Easterbunny :-D

  • I never imagine that Black Hole Sun can be beautiful like this.

    Thanks Paul Anka

I enjoy every second of it.

  • a real joy...great!

  • I love this version!!!!!!!

  • sweet. this guys great. He does Jump, Smells Like Teen Spirit etc.....

  • this guy ?!?!?

  • i falling in sleep only.....

  • haha makes me laugh, just great just great

  • Nice.

  • Brilliant. Just brilliant. (And I'm a massive Soundgarden fan!)

Sounds like it should be used in a Woody Allen film. Picture it... Allen and Dianne Keating strolling walking along the Brooklyn Bridge. They stop and have an argument, then walk away in different directions. And all shot in black and white. Perfect.

  • @tidalwave1978 jesus christ you need a hobby, or a good seeing to.

  • @eyelessism

ha ha ha ha ha ha...

  • @tidalwave1978 agree!:D

  • @tidalwave1978 ...while Woody talks about Sartre or Freud's psychosexual development.

  • one of my favourites :) thank you

  • haha, Paul Anka makes me laugh hehe. What a douche :P bless him

  • Thanks.
