There are other thermite reactions, only the "rust-aluminium" thermite is well-known.

This one is faster than it. The CuO was homemade, so it wasn't pure, that's why it burned slow.

looks more like gun powder, convetional thermite burn much slow and hotter.

@anonarob But this one is not "conventionnal" as it is note aluminum/iron oxyde. Copper oxide termites can sometimes blow up as flash powder.
