  • The current MC beta gives you a map height increase - this should help!

  • lol i have to say was it a really good idea building it next to a mountain which you have to dig out?

  • hey any chance i could help?

  • Are you still around dude? You don't seem to be replying. Are we going to see more of this or should I unsubscribe?

  • @markieman64 I'm still around, but the situation hasn't changed and I'm not one for those blasting subscribers with a video or a bulletin that just says nothing's changed. I've posted a few updates on Twitter and more recently, my Google+ profile. I've added links to those updates in the description.

  • @GizaNecropolis Thanks for the speedy reply. Sorry I hadn't noticed those blogs. That's good that you are making progress since those issues. Keep us updated. I look forward to seeing the next episode when it's done. I was just scared that you had lost interest is all!

  • Is this dead or is ep 7 taking 4 ever??? Plz reply

  • Do anyone know any projekts the are simular to this

  • WHY IS U HIT COW?

  • I'm hoping this project isn't dead.

  • How did you manage to calculate your portals so precisely?

  • @screamingdespair Trial and error. I built the first portals in episode 5 and they didn't work, so I spent time measuring exactly where they should go in both worlds. I didn't actually get it right: they're in the right place along the horizontal plane, but not the vertical. I tried to build a portal at the bottom of my mine shaft and it doesn't link correctly.

  • Hey. You haven't uploaded for a bit. You still with us?

  • @markieman64 Yeah, I wanted to get pretty far on the causeway before doing episode 7 as a straight line is incredibly boring to film and I'm sure to watch. I'm hoping to get around to it in the near future.

  • @GizaNecropolis Okay cool. Look forward to it.

  • I've been constantly checking back to this project as I LOVE the concept, time to sub... i think so. :)

    Keep it up man!

  • I can't believe how far you've come in this! I would have long given up either before or after finishing the temple!

    Amazing!

  • These are amazing! When can we expect the 7th?

  • @braxfortex Soon™

  • @GizaNecropolis

Haha, thanks! At least we know you are still working on this project. Again, this is amazing work.

  • PART 8!!!

  • @doyouknowwho6 What about part 7?

  • @GizaNecropolis sorry can't count :P

  • Why you dont use sandstone ? Maybe yuo should try some texture pack that changes coblestone/smoth stone to look more brown or more liek sandstone. So It will look like in desert :]

I wish they add somekind of map generation opions where you choose to have more sand or snow, amount of water and shape/height of mountains.

And they should change recipe for Sandstone form 4 sand to 2 sand, It takes forever to collect so much sand ;/

BTW. I realy like it :]

  • @RebelCoil As I mentioned in another comment, the temples in the complex were built out of basalt and granite, not sandstone.

  • @GizaNecropolis What with pyramids ? you will cover them with sand ?

btw. I have seen Egypt texture pack in minecraft forum. they looks preaty nice :] especialy painting what i think could be changed into small hireroglyphs So you could put them in temple.

And Why you burn trees ? when you destroy wood leaves will fall by them self. And as I remember wood can burn forever and it comes unhandy when fire sets on all trees . . .

  • @RebelCoil I haven't decided between using sand and sandstone for the outer casing of the pyramids to act as limestone, but it'll be some form of sand. I've been burning trees because leaf decay is buggy to non-working, depending on the build. You might catch in this video that I still cut down the trunks while the trees are on fire to make sure the burning doesn't last forever (unlike burning logs, fire on leaves only lasts a few seconds).

  • How come you built the causeway with a 4x3 stairstep pattern instead of an alternating pattern of 2x1,1x1,1x1? The latter would appear smoother in the long run, even though it might be a bit odd initially.

  • @sandwichHLP Good catch: I did 4x3 because I wanted to be able to walk the causeway without turning (each meter needs at least 3 blocks), and I wanted the causeway walls to be continuous (no diagonally placed blocks). Hm, I suppose I could've done a 3 down/2 over stagger, but a constant stagger while keeping track of a half a dozen variables (stagger point, height, section number, sides, etc.) keeps my brain from hurting too much. I may or may not revisit the issue of the stagger, though.

  • fantastic project, and fantastic video series. I was actually googling Giza to attempt something similar on Mincraft when I came across your vids! Eagerly awaiting your next update.....don't give up! :)

  • dude this looks awsome, you totaly need more subs, and ill be more then happy to be one of them.

  • 750 meters long Causeway 8O

To anyone bad in maths that's about 12 Minecraft stacks & that's just the direct length. Now count in the 60 degree angle & the width & height of the causeway.

& that is just a small part of the entire Giza Necropolis.

  • @asiankid782 All legitimate. You can see the giant mine I use for materials at the beginning of this episode, and I explain a little more about the mine in episode 5.

  • Amazing.

  • Awesome, I love it. I'm glad you're still working on it.

  • You should double save your world. Just incase something happens you dont want all that work to be gone.

  • @Android0891 I use two version control systems, git and Time Machine, just in case. :)

  • You are fucking awesome, I look forward to each of your episodes

  • you could try using tnt to destroy the mountains then neaten up the holes made. It may speed up the process.

  • @Rocitboy There was no TNT back then

  • @Rocitboy I'm trying to stick with period-specific tools as much as possible (check out episode 5). I'm also leveraging the composition of mountains to save on stone blocks which are a pain to make.

  • With the recent addition of sandstone, will you do using it for the new buildings, or even replacing the smoothstone of the already existing buildings? Using sandstone for this project makes a lot more sense than smoothstone, to me at least.

  • @VerboseVindication I'll likely use sandstone for parts of the project, but the temples—as far as we know based on what's been excavated—were made of granite and basalt, not sandstone.
