  • The early Beatles make me happyyyyy

  • I love John soo much :) <3

  • Ringo <3

  • Damn they are so awkward when lipsynching....but adorable!

  • Yeah Billboard never let people do live performances, so they had to lip sync

  • John makes it look so easy xD

  • 0:48 <3

  • Well there are plenty of beatles performance where they don't have microphones. I assume they were lip synching but you can't tell. This one is embarassingly obvious.

  • @mcafton Hi,everything on 'Ready Steady Go' was lip- synched,I watched all the VHS videos of 'Ready Steady Go' and every song was not live, pity!

  • @Beetles41 I think they made some fun of it on purpose. John was such a goofball.

  • John was so amazing(: I wasnt alive when he was, but he was a good man.

  • Nice

  • this is the first and hopefully last time ive seen them lip synch

  • yeah yeah yeah!!! :-)

  • the award looks like a misshaped slipper

  • wonder whether they actually sang too, in the studio - and where THOSE records are today

  • Unfortunately not the original sound

  • fail lip singing lol they rock!

  • Paul doesn't ever change his face xD

    Cool footage :D

  • wow invisible mics... dayum, the amazing technology of the 60s

  • Wow. You know, I prefer to watch the "live" vids rather then the lip synced ones, but I was very amused by John's behavior/performance. Licking his lips. At one point turning & just staring at Paul as though he were mocking the whole affair (i.e. having fun w/the fact that they were lip synching). Doing his funny kick-dance. He's just the best & I love him!, & it's true, I never thought of it that way, but, back then it seemed lip synching was the norm. Love how John had fun with it. :D

  • que hermosos, como los amo! esa época es tan mágica! ♥♥♥♥

  • simplemennte son los mejoress musiicooss de los años 60´s

    jaja

    asi de faciil!!!!!

  • At that stage of their game I doubt if Lennon "hated" anything. They were on the way to the very top, having already broke some records, and they liked anything and everything. Everything was new and refreshing and nothing but fun and laughs. Lennon was just clowning around... as always... in those early days.

  • @mnpd007 wellllll he did dislike a few things - maybe not hated them but he sure did not want to be all cuddly and cute for "the establishment". Although of course he could not avoid being extremely cuddly and exceedingly cute regardless. :)

  • Today if you mimed and lip-synched a song your career would be devastated. In the 60's it was the standard. Everyone knew it down to the dumbest viewer, so there was no deceit. The syncing was necessary because of the crude sound reproduction systems of the day. All the establishment had was the microphone they are using to talk into. No such thing as a remote/wireless hookup in those days.

  • @mnpd007

THANK you. The voice of reason. Any fan knows that the versions performed on all those great 60's era videos sounded EXACTLY, to a note, like the version on the released album.

And again, to echo you, not a microphone in sight. They knew it, and they didn't care. It was just about the music.

  • @mnpd007

And none of the instruments have a cord to the amplifiers.

  • John's dance moves and Paul laughing at them are absolutely priceless

  • John was just an amzing performer overall!

  • At 2:09 john lennon closes his eyes and almost fall! ha ha lol

  • people from the 50's-80s danced SOOO weird!! they look like they're having seizures. Anywhoo, the Beatles are frikin AMAZING. Did their management make them lip sync?

  • models? musicians hellooo

  • gosh why do people listen to shit music and hate the beatles? it makes no sinse

  • You can tell John hates the lip syncing/fake playing when he messes up or licks his lips on purpose.

  • @worldcitizenforever I'm done.

  • @worldcitizenforever Uhh. Wtf?

  • @worldcitizenforever Yeah, it's pretty invisible. Anyway, if you hate the Beatles soooo much, why are you on their videos?

  • @worldcitizenforever You're mean. I love the Beatles. And they were the most successful rock band there ever was. SO SUCK MY INVISIBLE COCK.

  • @worldcitizenforever Oh, I keep fucking messing up. But, you know what I meant.

  • Comment removed

  • @worldcitizenforever Sorry, I wrote that wrong.

  • Comment removed

  • @worldcitizenforever No, that's not what I said. But whatever floats your boat.

  • I will pretend I was testing you. Been a drummer since I was 8 but old age has taken its tole. Now 49 years old. I actually said Paul was the drummer. These type of backwards comments are starting to make me worry. What happens "When i'm 64". LOL

  • i sumtimes think his aint a beatles song

  • @worldcitizenforever your stupidity and ignorance about The Beatles is laughable at best. Don't post any more of your stupidity, you're really making an idiot out of yourself. You have zero credibility and the depth of your ignorance and the breadth of your incompetence is unbelievable.

  • @worldcitizenforever your opinions are some of the most uniformed, incorrect drivel I've ever seen. Let's see your hit records. Don't have any, as i surmised. You have an opinion, and it's worth nothing more than that. Musical history, and millions of fans and critics alike would laugh at your idiot opinion of The Beatles. You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

  • the old stuff....

  • John is the best

  • LOVES IT!!!!!!!!!!

  • WCF - Interesting theory, but absolute rubbish. I agree to a point: yes, the early career was mostly about good marketing. But let's not discount a lot of hard work - they paid their dues. Once they stopped doing concerts and became a studio band, you can't say that they weren't proper musicians. They experimented and created. Everything from Sgt Peppers on was brilliant. If there solo careers didn't take off, I think it was more consumer expectations than lack of talent.

  • @eyesorbe Their early career had NOTHING to do with marketing. The beatles played a back-breaking schedule of live appearances during their early years and played all over Englad, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Sweded, Germany and established themselves as a superior live performance group with many other artisits on the bill, including Roy Orbison.

  • WCF - Really? OK - at this point in their career, they're certainly not outstanding individual artists, but as a group they've got chemistry and a tight sound. I certainly wouldn't say they're horrible. I was just stating that the cameraman should've been fired for capturing an obvious fake. Don't know if this was live TV, but if it wasn't, it should've been edited. That was the only point I was trying to make.

  • @eyesorbe Most performances by bands on these shows were lip-synced. Notwithstanding worldcitizenforever's idiotcomments, The beatles were an extraordinarily tight band live due to the thousands of performances they gave leading up to their success. You can't fake what they did on records, since most of their records were live performances recorded direct to tape.

  • ARE THEY LIP SYNCHING?!

  • 0:29 Why on earth would they focus in on Ringo from that angle where he's clearly missing the drums by a good 3 inches.

  • A 1963 gem that did not get as much coverage as I would have liked.

Delightful video. John Lennon rocked the hell out of this one!

  • no other than, THE BEATLES!!!

  • Comment removed

  • What an irreverent genius John was... He took his potential discomfort with this whole lyp synching nonsense and created something funny out of it.

  • i'm a 30-year-old beatle maniac!

    I guess i need help ;)

  • @annatria ...help?...that's on a later LP ;)

  • @annatria Don't worry. i'm a 14 year-old beatle fanatic aswell!!!

  • @annatria Its not you that needs help its everyone else

  • @annatria Im 16 and im a Beatles maniac too

  • I Love dA Betles

  • paul aint to good at lip synching

  • These guys would have been, whats the word thrown around nowadays ummm superstars by this stage so it would've been hard to stay to serious about these promo shows they had to do...

  • wow I love them crazy fab

  • I loved this song since i was 3 cuz my mom always played it in the house lol

  • Great and Funny!

What would been of The Beatles without John?

  • There was a rumour going on in '65 that Andrew Oldham & Brian Epstein were going to do a trade (John Lennon for Brian Jones) ...

  • Comment removed

  • It was a rumour, that's all ...

  • aah ok .. sorry man.

I didnt have to say what I said. I only think that John gave a very special taste of fun to them. and of course he's my idol.

    I'm sorry again.

    A hug 4 u.

  • You mean the fab 4.

  • An oldie but a goodie ...

  • the funniest part is they are lip syncing. You can see Paul is not hiting the Hih-hat. Cymbals move when you hit them.

  • Its Ringo on the drums Paul on Bass.Great bit of old footage thou.

  • @neatpleats you mean ringo

  • @neatpleats Actually the hi-hat only moves when you press the pedal for it. If he's hitting only that then it's correct, however if he were hitting the others then there's a possibility that's so. Although to only go by their mouth movements to the words is not accurate either, because they couldn't sync the audio with the video in the recording.

  • @neatpleats Ringo plays the drums

  • @neatpleats tell me im hallucinating and u didnt say that
