My grandma went to school with SHirley Jones in Smithton, Pa and I have always admired watching her performances in movies, particularly in Carousel! As a performer, I can honestly say that although all three of these women are incredibly talented, Shirley has the most grace and the most beautiful voice of them all, and is perhaps, unfortunately, the most underrated of the three.

I love West Side Story, The Sound of Music and South Pacific. (I think I saw Oklahoma when I was really little and I don't remember seeing Carousel). My soon to be ex told me that musicals are chick flix. He didn't want my son to watch Sound of Music alot. My two children LOVE Sound of Music.

I count myself lucky to have met two of these legendary musical ladies, Miss Shirley Jones and Mitzi Gaynor. Shirley was so down to earth and motherly very sweet. Mitzi Gaynor was very glamourous and flashy but still as nice a person as you would ever meet. Both were surprised to know that I knew who they were as I was in my early 20's when I met them. KUDOS to all 3 of them and thanks for posting this

thanks for posting this, I missed them when they were on Good Morning America. I love Mitzi Gaynor, it's hard to believe that she's 75 years old. Shirley Jones and Rita Moreno I think are also so under appreciated. For what and how much they contributed, it's amazing. thanks again.
