There isn't many songs that can stop me in my tracks , but this song is just one, simple but pure. Makes a person think about life , Judy sure had a special voice. Magical song.
Damn I'm gonna cry now I live in my Grandparents old house & they are both gone now & I miss them so much, especially Grams we had so many good times here & her gardens & baking & all the big family dinners. Thanks for posting the song!
I have "So Early in the Spring - the First 15 Years". This and "Born to the Breed" are my favorites on it. So beautiful, sentimental, and so perfect. Judy can write as well as she can sing!!
I feel so deprived & dumb. I've been a Judy Collins fan for at least 25 years; and have never heard this beautiful, sentimental song until just TODAY!
It was on the album "True Stories and Other Dreams" released in 1973. I have it on vinyl on the double album "So Early in the Spring - The First Fifteen Years" released 1977 by Electrola/Asylum records. It's a compilation with 24 songs. It wasn't on "Bread and Roses"
"I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then." I have lived every word of this song... Every word in this song is a iron clad contract of this life. Thank You for posting, Will
This has been one of my favorite songs since 1973. I bought a 45rpm record of it then, which came with piano sheet music which I could never play and sing through without breaking down in tears! Your presentation is totally beautiful and sensitive---thank you so much!
It is an amazing song; I also love "Bread and Roses," "Song For Duke," "Many Houses," "Since You Asked," and above all, "My Father." None of those however bring me to tears like this one does; Im crying as I write this! What a gorgeous gift to the world Judy Collins is!
@Coffee4011 Most of that has been released on cd as "Forever: An Anthology" - though, ironically, this song is not included. It is available on the beautiful cd "True Stories and Other Dreams," though...
Ushit!
Stvarnost je ono nevidljivo što trepti poput svilene paukove mreže što titranjem odašilje nečujan zvuk. Timbal srca.
A srce?
Srce je ušica kroz koju je provučena paukova nit.

Such a wonderful song. I saw Judy a couple years ago and was amazed at how clear and strong her voice was.

It's one of the most sorrowful and beautiful songs ever written. Why it's not known better is beyond me.

Unfortunately not. I found them in the internet and tried to put something together what matches the song in the best way.

I love this song. I have it on an old album - rather scratchy now - called 'So Early In the Spring-The First 15 Years.' Wish they'd put it out on CD.
