  • FIFTY-SEVENTH!!!!!!

  • i've only seen lost to this point, and i reckon Faradays 'constants' are fate, and the variables are free will. Jacob represents free will, and the smoke monster, fate. the whole series to this point hasn't been goodies v baddies, it's free will vs fate.

  • what did you think of the series finale? You should make a video like this with Andy :P

  • @Spartan54232 i think becuase either Sayid has more to do or becuase Jacob is usless in Sayids body???? :S

  • Gary, I think I asked this before but I'd really like to know how you do this because I'd like to do a few interviews "live" there's just a certain vibe to it.

Please don't tell me I have to have a Mac!

  • here's a question.......

If Jacob is in Sayid's body now.......

Why would he have said what happened???

im sure he new he was killed?????

  • @Musicmatttheonly1 why would the others NOT want Jacob to transfer to sayid they love him

  • I looked up Ankh online, it is the symbol of eternal life. They gave it to Egyptian mummies for them to have a great afterlife. So, in a way it is Jacob's way of saying "I am now dead, please honor me."

After thinking Richard was on that ship, it makes you wonder if this has been happen for centuries. Oh wel!

  • Lalalalala..... I can't hear ya. Newbie Lost watcher.

Gotta watch all the seasons on Hulu!

    Will return later!

    ;0)

  • its a gigantic chess match between the Mr. White & Mr Black, they pick their peices and play out the game, over CENTURIES! to semi malevolent beings who are bored

  • i love desmond! i will try not to do comment over load im only 12 mins in, lol

  • maybe jacob shred is essence with each, and to bring jacob back, they all have to be reunited to resurrect him

  • lost is mind candy and so is this video!

  • OMG, i cannot believe i missed this!

  • Just fisihed watchig the repeat of tLOST 6.

I am on RTE player after watching for first time on friday night. Am now more lost than I was roll on next Friday as I miss it thursday on irish tv thursday night. We get it 2 days after us broadcast, take care and keep em coming

  • Honestly, I'm becoming more and more interested in what the writers choose not to answer on the show. Needless to say, the first episode had some moments that were, for me, breathtaking. The island under water, Locke becoming the smoke monster, etc.

And while I can't wait to see what answers they have ready for all of us -- and explaining those answers to friends -- I really think the lasting answers will be those not given, the ones we get to keep talking/debating long after Lost is gone.

  • its not locke its MrBlack

  • Great Lost discussion!

    My rambling thoughts:

What happened to Clare? She seemed to just walked off or something.

Are you sure Jack used a pen to get the bag out of Charlies throat? I thought he couldn't find a pen and wound up just using his fingers.

I think that the timeline where the plane lands safely will have lots of parallels to what's happened on the island. Such as the island healed Locke. Therefore the plane landing safely timeline will have Jack operating on and healing him.

  • Maybe the people who've died on the island will also die in somewhat similiar fashions in the alternate time line.

Also I was a little pissed that Sawyer buried Juliette. One should never bury people on an island where people sometimes come back to life, LOL.

It's going to be fascinating how they merge the timelines (assuming they do indeed merge them) I'm thinking that will occur in the finale' but who knows. I'm hoping the *survivors* somehow have all their island memories intact.

  • I think i may know whats gonna happen, you know how they have the two story lines going at the same time? well what if once they figure out how to get themselves off the island, thats where the other time line would start, once they finish getting off the island, if all of them even get off...

  • to be honest season 5 left me with a lot of questions about the whole timeline/jacob thing that was going on. Hopefully season 6 answers them.

  • I get the feeling that all the Lost "connections" established between characters are going to set off a chain reaction of sorts that will re-align the two timelines again. That sounds good on paper, but hell if I know how they're going to pull that off.

For example, if Shannon's not on the plane, maybe that means that the wreck between her father and Sarah (Jack's wife) never happened. So Jack would have never met Sarah, maybe because of that, he's more emotionally stable... (to be cont'd)

  • ...and never ratted out his Dad. So his Dad wouldn't have become such a drunk (or maybe just less of one) and never would have run off to AUS with Ana-Lucia. Since he didn't do that, Ana ended up going to jail instead. Since she went to jail, maybe because of that, she wasn't around to protect her partner and he ended up dying, so that he wasn't able to prevent something else. Okay, well that didn't go quite the way I wanted, but yeah. Something like that.

  • The only other question that's really nagging at me right now, and I find it somewhat suspicious that this was never really addressed in the first two episodes, but we still don't know what time the Island stuff here with the temple is actually happening. They saw the imploded Swan hatch, I guess we can only assume that they went to whatever time Sun and Frank are at, and maybe they'll turn up pretty soon here.

  • I *think* maybe it was established that the people in the temple are now in the same time period as Sun and Frank and everyone else. Didn't the people in the temple send off a warning flare type of thing that was seen by Sun and Frank and those at the statue? Or maybe I'm just confused, LOL.

  • Ohh that's right! THANK YOU! I totally forgot about the flare.

  • I'm with your sister Gary... I was completely confused with the time line thing.

I found it odd when Locke said that Jack's father wasn't missing... just his body was. It made me think about the times that Jack & Locke saw him on the Island.

Oh and what is the Ash? Where is it from that gives it the power to ward off the smoke monster?

As far as Jacob being the good guy... Evil disguises its self in many ways. I'm not all that convinced that he's all that good.

  • (comment part 4) Yes, I'm obsessed here. AND LOVING IT! Love that ankh. Coolest way of delivering a handwritten note EVER! LOL Looking forward to seeing this new/alternate Hurley as well. Almost get the impression he'll give Sawyer a run for HIS money. ;-) Michael & Walt = I STILL WANT ANSWERS! *sigh* Love this talk, guys! One last thing: Juliet's cryptic remarks about going dutch on the coffee... I smell foreshadowing here.
  • I just smelled Foldgers...

  • Hopefully it's not the Decafmonster.

  • For some reason I think Jacob drinks decaf.

  • (comment part 3)

Jacob as the good guy... I'm not buying any characters as all good or all bad anymore. There have always been so many shades of gray with the characters and this story since the first episode. But I love how they keep us guessing on this point.

    Ben = pawn

    YES! Totally agree.

Christian (Jack's dad) appearing on the island = I think you're right that it was MIB all those times.

Sayid now being Jacob... not totally buying into that yet either. We'll see.

    :-)

  • (comment part 2)

The Kate stuff - Wait, WHAT?? That must be ep 6-03 stuff, right? HA! Either way, I love it.

Hurley feeling lucky... I wonder if the numbers aren't completely gone. But something tells me Sawyer will probably try to bring some bad luck his way now.

    ;-P

I love this concept of how MIB/Smokey is really just another person wishing he could go home. And Richard having once been in chains... I didn't see that coming. LOL

  • Its so not fair we got the first season then if we wanted to see any more we had to pay for sky to get it like they seem to have done with a lot of good progs.

  • OMG, YAY!

    (part 1 of comment)

    "Two different paths..."

YES! I've been thinking that since they spent a lot of time (from S2 onward) describing time as a vinyl record where the "time skipping" was just the Losties' needle jumping around between tracks, this alternate timeline must be just the "flipside" to the same "record" - if that makes any damn sense. LOL

    I like the GPS analogy.

  • And Hurley is not a joke. He's the hottest guy on the island! I'd keep him. :)

  • I wanna know how the wheel controls the island.

  • I think Christian WAS MiB as well as the smoke monster. He can use bodies that were dead before they arrived on the island. But... we know Walt didn't die and he never went back to the island, so I think Tall Walt was also MiB when Locke saw him after he'd been shot.

Interesting, I didn't think about the whole fertility thing.

But I did get answers and I did understand what was going on. I was surprised people were more confused, they Flash Sideways thing is obvious and cool!!

  • Great show, boys!

HUGE RIPPLE - Desmond is on the plane! Glad you mentioned that. If the island wasn't there to get shipwrecked on his life went on and he's on his way to LA. And I love how Jack had deja vu when Desmond said, "Brutha".

  • Like they went into this other dimension, spent all this time on the island and then just ended back on the plane like they were. I'm not sure at all if that fits with the story from season 5 of them in LA after rescued and then gathering back and going to the island again with John's coffin. Just can't quite link all that together but we'll just have to wait and see!

  • No tail flying off or anything of what has been shown before. Which kinda confirms my weird theory that what happened on the island over all this time happened almost in another dimension. No time has passed on the airplane and they just woke up as they were, on that airplane. Jack kinda recognizes some of the passengers but can't quite think of from where. And Jack finding that scar or bruise or whatever on his neck was kinda weird too.

  • Those were fantastic episodes, a lot more to think about! The scene of Jack on the plane, that got me into a lot of thinking. For a while it almost seemed like he remembered all what happened on the island at that moment when he woke up [back] on the plane, like all that's happened on the island was just a bad dream. And the fact that Desmond was on the plane and Jack's looking at him, almost seemed like thinking "what is he doing here, what's going on, he wasn't on the plane when we crashed".

  • But then he says "do I know you from somewhere?" which kinda meant that he didn't exactly remember what happened on the island at that time. This all kinda twists even more with the whole time travelling thing, giving me the idea that somehow while they were flying, they ended up being in some kinda time warp, or a worm hole, almost in another dimension and then just ended up back on the plane after all that time on the island and no time has passed in the "real world" timeframe.

  • Back a few seasons, several times was shown this scene of Charlie running into the toilet and getting his drugs, that's when the hell broke loose and the plane went down. Now they show a completely different thing, Charlie ends up choking and being saved by Jack.

  • i want to find out how the statue broke

  • There's going to be some kind of stand off with Sawyer and Jack. He said if she dies I will kill him. So I want to see some resolution with that. Also, they need show where the hell Claire has been. It was cool to see her and Kate in the taxi together. Maybe Kate will help her deliver the baby again just like she did on the island only in the taxi. In the reality where the plane didn't crash I am looking forward to see how Charlie and Claire cross paths.

  • He looks like Jude apatow

  • the symbol that hurley had in the case was an ankh its the sign for eternal life

  • It was really wierd that Desmond was on the plane for a while. It really made no sense.

  • the thing i wanna know is , if the smoke monsnter had this huge plan to kill jacob why did the monster go out of its way to kill mr eko by pretending to be his brother for a few episodes threw out the series was eko some kind of problem for him

  • I haven't watched much of Lost, but here is my speculatin'

Wow, so they created their own pocket universe/timeline. The writers are getting heavy into temporal theory. Normally a timeline wouldn't correct itself unless something else was pulling it along (like destiny?) This would imply that fate trumps free will though... hmm....

Smoke monster huh? Smoke comes from fire and fire has to have a fuel source. So what is his fuel?

    Is the island volcanic?

  • It's so cool to see you both together again. So many things happened on this premiere. I agree that in the alternate timeline, everyone is destined to connect with each other. It was awesome to see the Marshall, and the departed characters again. And Fake Locke is cool. He's such a powerful character. Ben and the Others are in trouble now.

  • Hahaha cool ending. Interesting discussion! What I'm pondering:

The underwater shot of the island was a cool mindblower, but the effects were SO VERY CHEESY!

I think Jack will fix Locke so he can walk again. Then, later this season when the two realities intersect again, Locke will "miraculously" arrive on the island healed but the cause will actually be Jack's surgery, not the island. Meaning that some Season 1 events were already due to an alternate reality we didn't know about at the time!

  • Regarding Desmond: If the island got blown up/sunk in the 1970s, Widmore would've been on the island at that point. Therefore, Widmore would not have survived to become a multi-millionaire and start the boat race. Which means Desmond never does the race, never trains for it and never meets Jack in the stadium. This adds more weight to the fact that Jack thinks they've met before...it's more evidence that Jack is having deja-vu feelings/insights that there's some other reality out there.

  • If the presence of the Locke corpse enabled the smoke monster to take that form...Ben was the one insisting Jack had to bring Locke's body to the island. Did Ben know this would give a home to Smokey?

I've seen the "holy man" referred to Genghis Otherton - which I think is hilarious!

Since the statue was a fertility symbol, perhaps whatever destroyed all but the foot made it impossible for women to conceive and give birth to children on the island?

Looking forward to a great real-time season!

  • Great talk. Yeah this last season is going to be awesome!! Can't wait to see what all happens and what all gets answers.
